The glitch which usually is perceived as the mutation and anomaly of the virtual world was the primary driving design language for this project. We found interesting existing details in Sveti Nikolai church and the build environment surrounding it in Sofia, Bulgaria. These details were mutated and replicated among the church neighboring green space in an attempt to reconstruct a different architectural narrative which represents a glitch mutation of Sofia.
The title of the project introduces the concept of glitch deformation in a new point of view. In this project the glitch is investigated in the inner part of the site, as mirroring the original structure of the church upside down facing to the bottom of the ground. Vocal frequencies were recorded on site in 4 different languages; Russian, Hebrew, Arabic and Vietnamese, and transformed into a series of heterogenic mutated shapes that were kit- bashed together in the digital reality, as a representation of a fictional global temple
