Do Not Disturb; Not just for Phones
This might seem like a “no brainer,” but if you plan to sleep in, make sure you hang that “Do Not Disturb” sign on your doorknob before you call it an evening. Without it, you risk a knock on the door from a pleasant but overzealous housekeeper as early as 7 or 8 am! And remember, if you do use it, it’s equally as important to take it off the doorknob before leaving your room for the day. That’s the “all clear” signal for housekeeping to come on in and tidy up while you are out.

Climate Change is Ok... In Your Hotel Room
If you want to make your day trip a hasslefree experience, make sure all of your devices are plugged in AND that they are properly charging before you drift off to sleep. Remember... you might have more than just cellphones that need a boost. Tablets, laptops, speakers - Be sure to gather all of your portable devices you’ll be using the next day and find a proper wall outlet for them. The last thing you want to see in the middle of your perfect day is low battery warning.

Your hotel room is supposed to be your own special space - comfortable and relaxing at the end of a long day. Here, you can tell Dad it’s actually OK to touch that thermostat. Feel free to adjust the room temperature to your comfort level – remember, you’re on vacation and you can make the rules!

Double check the hotel checkout times and policies. Standard checkout time is often 11:00am, but those times can often differ from place to place. It’s not uncommon for checkout times to vary by an hour or two in either direction. Once you know your check out time, note it down and make a plan for getting out on time. It would be a bummer to get hit with a late checkout fee at the end of your trip, so plan ahead and keep that money in your pocket, where it belongs!
