Special day at the University of the South Campus with a tour of the Sewanee Inn by Michael Beutel. Next Professor Gerald Smith provided an eye opening presentation that made the history of Franklin County a reality for those attending. The walking tour included the All Saints Chapel, DuPont Library, etc. Lunch was at the McClurg dinning hall with so many food stations, it was difficult to make a selection! Next the class headed to the Templeton Library for peak into the mysterious building perched on the side of Sewanee mountain. Our day ended with an overview by Stanley Bean, Director of Franklin County School System. A special thanks to the A.M. Rotary Club for the great breakfast at Sunrise Restaurant to start the day. Dr. Alan Clark, Dr. Brad Schapiro and Werner Nowak took the lead in the presentation on Leadership Skills and Styles. Physician Spotlight New General Surgeon Joins STRHS Winchester Winchester, TN….Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Winchester officials announce the addition of general surgeon, Dr. Adil H. Khan to their medical team. Dr. Khan recently completed a Fellowship in bariatrics at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his general surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts. “It is exciting to have another surgeon of this caliber joining our medical”, said STRHS Winchester CEO, Rob Followell. “His vast knowledge of the medical and surgical field is impressive and his special interest in bariatrics makes him unique to our area. We are committed to providing quality patient care and services close to home and with the addition of physicians and surgeons such as Dr. Khan we are keeping our promise.” As a general surgeon, Dr. Khan has a special interest in bariatric services and weight loss. His surgical services include, but are not limited to open and laparoscopic ventral and inguinal hernia repair, hiatal hernias, colonoscopy and endoscopy, biliary surgery, general surgery, and laparoscopic gastric reflux surgery. Dr. Khan’s practice, Southern Tennessee Surgical Services is located at 155 Hospital Road, Suite C in Winchester and will open in October.
