Difficult to believe June is already here! The first half of 2018 has been exceptionally busy! A few of the larger events since January were: Erlanger & Life Force Chamber Connection, LFC Courts & Public Safety, LFC State Government Day, LFC Graduation, 26th Annual Business EXPO, Chamber Connection After Hours Tims Ford Marina Hard Dock Café. Below is a typical monthly report of activities presented to the Board of Directors for the May board meeting.
April FCC Manufacturers Roundtable at FCHS in the auditorium. Internet of Things – Future of Manufacturing by Chris Milligan. Subway lunches provided for the roundtable members. May Manufacturers Roundtable at the Infiniti plant - Robotics in the workplace (Co-bots) presented by Ben Turpin Ribbon Cutting: Branch Water Distillery – Bud Kelley Owner Ribbon Cutting: Sharp Springs Kayak & Canoe Rentals – Brett & April Hill Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening: Twin Creeks Marina & Resort — No Ribbon cutting due to rain. Commissioner of Tourism arrived at 1 pm and a large crowd was at the marina for a meet & greet as the commissioner toured the marina. 19th Annual Bear Trace Golf Tournament - Fantastic turnout of Ambassadors. Great door prizes and ditty bags - Best tournament to date with 33 teams, great food, beautiful day, and lots of fun for those attending. Gattis Leadership Group gathered at the Chamber for an overview of the Chamber and our county was presented to about 12 guests. Chamber Connection - Sponsored by - The Exchange and Tims Ford Marina at the Hard Dock Café. Fantastic attendance. SCORE counseling with an entrepreneur and Pat Wente – Plumber in Manchester looking to expand in Franklin County. Dave Van Buskirk resigned as our SCORE counselor. Solicitated another counselor for SCORE Potential SCORE counselor met with Pat Wente to discuss details of the commitment and process. He must pass on line test and process will begin. Scheduled Tax Workshop for new or existing businesses on July 17th 9-11:30 a.m. Assisted Interview committee at its first meeting. Meetings are scheduled every Tuesday until the process is complete. Ambassador’s meeting. Tourism grant documentation submitted to the state and final project due by the end of May. Leadership recruitment underway and the Steering Committee will present to Sophomore classes at the Awards Ceremony at FCHS. LFC Class of 2019 begins in September. One of my favorite quotes comes to mind thinking over the diverse amount of activities and functions completed the past month. It is all about service and giving back!

Grand Opening of the New Walmart Service: FREE Grocery Pick up
Kip Commons and his staff, Summer, Jacob, Sheldon, Trent, Cindy, Brandy, Nicole, and Katelin celebrating the opening of the Grocery Pick up. Available starting May 31st!
All were excited about the Ribbon Cutting for the new Walmart Grocery Pick Up service in Franklin County. Our Walmart is the first store in our area to offer this convenient service
Twin Creeks Marina * Resort * Village Grand Opening Kevin Triplett, Commissioner of Tourist Development joined us for the Grand Opening of Twin Creeks, estimated $25 million investment!
Triplett said he was very impressed by the location and its aesthetics. “A tremendous amount of work was put into it, and it has that perception of first class from the restaurant to the homes,” Triplett said, referring to Twin Creeks. He said the quality of slips and the restaurant’s view from right on the water, down to the attention to detail of the aesthetics and how the restaurant is built, grabs attention. Triplett acknowledged that the new marina on Tims Ford Lake is one of the better ones he has seen - down to the detail, the setting, location and a good place for a meal. “We all love a good meal and at a good setting,” he said. “It’s hard to beat that when it’s on the lake.” A major key when separating marinas from others is having a good geographical location to pull from. Twin Creeks definitely has that because it’s not far from the Alabama border and is close to major cities in Tennessee and surrounding states.
