Welcome Jennifer Tinch, M.D., M.P.H. Jennifer Tinch, M.D., M.P.H. Occupational Medicine It is with great pleasure we welcome the addition of Dr. Jennifer Tinch to the medical staff of Southern Tennessee Medical Center! Dr. Tinch completed medical school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She completed her residency at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She also has a Masters degree in Public Health. Dr. Tinch is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Tinch is very excited to be joining Winchester Family Medicine in June. She will be working alongside of Kathryn Freeman, FNP, Niki Hazard, FNP and the rest of the top notch staff at WFM. As an Occupational Medicine provider, Dr. Tinch focuses on the health of workers, including the ability to perform work; the physical, chemical, biological, and social environments of the workplace; and the health outcomes of environmental exposures. Providers in this field address the promotion of health in the work place, and the prevention and management of occupational and environmental injury, illness, and disability.1 Dr. Tinch will be working closely with the Wellness Works program at Southern Tennessee Medical Center to provide the best possible care to the workforce in our community. Some of the services she will be offering include:
Employment physicals exams (pre-placement and annual)
Workplace injury care (Workers Comp)
Fitness for duty exams Regulatory exams (OSHA and DOT) Respiratory exams (which fall under OSHA regulatory exams, but we may need to specify for our corporate clients) Drug testing Audiograms: specifically for companies who require OSHA medical surveillance because the workplace exceeds the noise limit (called the PEL)
Employee wellness (biometric screenings) Immunizations for work Dr. Tinch, who studied Geology as an undergraduate, has a love for the outdoors, especially the mountains. She and her husband, Kevin, enjoy hiking, gardening and other outdoor activities. “I feel very fortunate to be able to reside in such a beautiful area of Tennessee. THE MEANING OF A FLAG DRAPED COFFIN The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers! It has been through their faith, their love, their loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded. The tenth fold is a tribute to the Father, for he too has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their/ our country since they were born. The eleventh fold represents the lower portion of the Seal of King David, and of King Solomon; and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The twelfth fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes; God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Ghost). The thirteenth fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their Nation's motto; "In God We Trust". After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the Soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones. They were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States of America, preserving for them the rights, privileges, and freedoms that we enjoy today. There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning, now you will see flags folded and no "why". Share this information, folds 1 - 13 with the children that you love, and all others who love what is referred to, as the symbol of "Liberty and Freedom". "Lose yourself in generous service to others, and every day can be a most unusual day, a triumphant day; an abundantly rewarding day"! (Mr. William Arthur Wood) Be safe, be healthy and be happy in "your unselfish services to others"!
