Hello my loves,

As the New Year approaches, I have been thinking a lot about the huge changes that my team and I went through this year. We expanded our team, grew our list of services, travelled to new countries, worked with amazing wedding professionals and luxury hotels and most importantly, assisted the most spectacular couples in the world.

Our cup is overflowing with blessings and for that, I am truly grateful.

As with everything, it did not come without some big challenges, but thankfully with an incredible support system, we were able to overcome them all and are here today stronger than ever before... ready to take on the world and 2023!

I learnt some important lessons this year about resilience and the power of love. I always knew the significance of it, and I most certainly understood the value it brings to life itself, but the power of it is something that I saw more than ever before this year in my couples, my family and in my personal life.

I truly want to take a second to thank each and every one of you for believing in love. I want to send warm hugs to all couples who chose love when things may have got tough, and I want to let you all know that I admire your strength.

Marriage is not easy sometimes, and choosing to love someone through the good and bad is just that...an actual choice that you have to make every day. You will have good days and bad, and there will be times where you will question things but I promise you that with God’s grace you will get through any and everything.

You are in great hands and I hope that you never forget that.

In this Issue, I decided to focus on “Cherishing the moments”. It’s important to cherish the late night dinner dates with your fiance. It’s essential to cherish the cute hugs from your partner and it’s even more important to cherish the love that you have for that special someone.

I wish you so much happiness and joy this Holiday Season my loves and a very happy New Year. May you and your loved ones cherish this time and hold on to the memories forever.

All my love...

THE CREATIVE BEHIND THE BRAND WILL MEDINA

Born out of a desire to help his clients realize their wedding dreams in some of the most exotic and beautiful backdrops in the world, Will Medina founded Destination Weddings Expert.

With an extensive background in the travel industry, Will says that his love for destination weddings truly began as a travel advisor, when his loyal travel clients began contacting him asking about the possibility of getting married on the beach. He executed one wedding, then two and then that was it... he was hooked.

Since then, Will has become an absolute powerhouse in the Destination Wedding travel space and is recognized worldwide for his exceptional service. After following his personal brand and company for years, we knew that it was the right time to get in touch with him and dive deeper into his process and find out where it all began. In our conversation with Will, we discover just how he works and what makes him an exceptional Destination Wedding Travel Agent.

can you please tell us a little bit about your amazing business and how many years you have worked in the wedding industry?

My name is Will Medina and I’ve had the pleasure of planning Travel and Destination Weddings for 13 years now. Destination Weddings Expert was born of my passion for the hospitality industry, travel and for my home country of the Dominican Republic. From this passion, I have built a company which caters to wedding couples who dream of sharing their love for each other with their closest friends and family in some of the most beautiful destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.

when and how did your passion for the destination wedding space begin?

My passion for destination weddings developed once I started my journey as a Travel Advisor. Earlier in my career, some of my loyal travel clients whom I planned trips for, came back to me asking about the possibility of getting married on the beach. We did the first one, then the second and suddenly I fell in love with the idea of combining my focus on group travel + beach weddings. It sounds cheesy, but in the end, I love, love and that’s how I found my greatest passion in helping my clients realize their wedding dreams in some of the most exotic and beautiful backdrops this world has to offer. It was a natural fit!

19 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

What is the most challenging part of your job as a destination wedding travel agent?

I believe any part of the hospitality industry comes with its challenges. As a destination wedding planner, one of my favorite challenges to overcome is the trust factor. As part of our six-stage planning process, we’ve built a timeline to get you to your wedding day in a stress-free, well-planned manner. From researching the resort, to signing the room block contract, communicating and booking your guests, booking your vendors and planning your week-of events; we’ve created a tried and true timeline which will ensure you are able to enjoy your planning process and create an experience for your guests which they will talk about for years to come. Trust the process!

please share one of the most amazing destination weddings that you ever had to plan.

This is always a tough one. I love all of my couples and each wedding is unique to their needs. I do however have a pretty soft spot for a few of my covid brides who endured all the changes & postponements, uncertainties and restrictions but in the end were able to celebrate with their loved ones and now have those everlasting memories. I guess you can say that I place more value on the true meaning of the celebration, and the togetherness of the families than the lavishness of some events.

what are some of your top venue choices for destination weddings in the caribbean & mexico?

The resorts we work with in Mexico & the Caribbean are true partners in every sense of the word. To call out any one, would be a disservice to our readers here.

20 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

However, there are a few that we can shout out to whom stand out for all the right reasons. You’d be remiss to not experience an immersion to the Mexican culture at XCaret in Riviera Maya or have an entirely different, decadent All-Inclusive experience as Casa de Campo in La Romana welcomes you home.

Take some time to experience the versatility of AMR Resorts or become Rock Royalty at Hard Rock. Get inspired by the art and design of Mexico at Atelier or disconnect at Sanctuary Cap Cana in Punta Cana. I could go on and on about all of the offerings these beautiful locations have to offer but in the end, the truth is, that we’ve worked hard over the years to curate an offering of properties that has something for everyone. Most importantly, we find it best to sit down for a complimentary consultation with us as we get to know you as a couple, the experience you want your guests to have and put it all on paper so we can ensure no detail is left overlooked.

when it comes to decor, we love all things elegant and refined. what would you say is

your preferred style and why?

My couples don’t come to me for my vision. Together, we build a destination wedding that perfectly reflects their taste and style. One of my favorite parts of this industry is the amazing partnerships that I’ve developed over the years. Through these connections, I am able to offer my wedding couples a wide range of styles and vendors which will help them to materialize their vision of the perfect wedding.

From Boho to Modern, Chic to Rustic, we are able to bring these visions to reality with ease. What is my preferred style? A flawless al fresco evening filled with memorable experiences. From live music & entertainment to the twinkle of bistro lights.

what distinguishes destination weddings in the caribbean from weddings in the united states or europe?

To compare a wedding in Mexico and the Caribbean to a wedding in the United States or Europe is to compare Apples to Oranges. Both, beautiful in their own rights,

both rooted in tradition, but both also vastly different tastes on the palate. What makes a wedding in Mexico or the Caribbean so special? A curated event made especially for your guests. Through a wedding room block in Mexico and the Caribbean, you’re able to build an event from beginning to end that both combines all of the elements of your dream wedding, along with a relaxing, tranquil escape for your guests. Convenience sets a destination wedding apart as it allows the bridal couple to deliver not only an amazing wedding experience, but also puts all of the necessary comforts right at their guests fingertips. Food, Drinks, Spa, Gym, Activities and off-site excursions are there and immediately available to enjoy.

what are your favourite caribbean countries to work

and vacation in?

Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and, of course, my beloved Dominican Republic are my favorite destinations to work in. These locations offer just the right amount of hospitality, fun and diversity to provide an amazing experience for not only my couples, but also their guests. Listen to the monkeys in the Costa Rican mountains, enjoy a culinary immersion in Riviera Maya or dance your heart out to the sound of a Dominican band. It’s impossible to not have an amazing time in these tropical destinations.

what is your number one piece of advice for couples interested in having their destination wedding in the caribbean?

22 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

Choose a destination and resort which most closely reflects you. You’re going to hear a lot of feedback from your guests about where you should have your wedding or how much you should spend or even if you should have it destination at all. In the end, these are your memories and each experience, meal and photo should reflect all that you want to remember 5, 10, and 20 years from now.

No one will remember which welcome drink you chose, only the way the trip made them feel. No one knows your guests more than you. Go with the experience you feel best represents you as a couple. And of course, a destination wedding can be quite complex so enlist the help of a professional to help you navigate the legalities and logistics for you and your guests.

what is your number one piece of advice for aspiring destination wedding travel agents?

It may sound clichè but Follow your passion! A destination wedding is the perfect mix of Travel and Wedding Events so to be successful in this niche, you must like both. While the couple may seek out your expertise for the travel component, their end goal is getting married and giving their guests an unforgettable vacation.

Once you’ve decided you want to help others celebrate their love in Paradise, then you must understand the business side of the job.

23 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

To do so, put the strategy before the tool!

There’s a million different tools out there to help get you from A to B, but if you don’t understand why you’re on that journey or how that system will make your couples feel supported, another tool will only stand in your way. Do the research and take the time to find out what your end goal is. Sometimes, spending the money on a tool that puts a bandaid on your problem only creates more problems.

There is a huge community out there that has done the work and experienced the same challenges that you’ve faced. Lean on that community to help you learn those lessons faster and more efficiently. I’ve built an entire program based on the lessons that I’ve learned. The Playbook community exists to help travel advisors overcome those challenges. Learn more at JoinThePlaybook.com.

WHAT I LEARNED ON MY JOURNEY DOWN THE AISLE

32 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM
“At the end of the day, this is the person you are lying next to and making your life with long after the wedding day is over.”

Oh wow! It has been an entire year already since we last did this, and guess what?!

I got married!

What a year it has been, from planning a wedding during peak season while juggling my usual wedding season workload, to becoming a whole wife and mother of three now, while managing the business and getting into the groove of a whole new schedule. Indeed, it has been a stretch, but I’ve definitely learned some valuable lessons along the way.

This year, for this issue of Adriana Weddings, I want to share some of that with you. After years of dressing and designing for brides, and often giving advice from objective observation along with that behind-the-scenes knowledge already acquired over years of working in this industry, I can finally speak from the

added experience of being a bride myself. I now have a much better understanding of what some brides have gone through on their wedding planning journey, and there’s also now more weight to insight. So, here are some key truths I would impart on every bride-to-be:

STAY FOCUSED ON EACH OTHER

One of the first things I would now tell a bridal couple embarking on their wedding preparations is this. Depending on the timeline you have for your wedding date, it’s very easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of planning and lose sight of what all of this is about in the first place.

There will be voices - many of themcoming from every angle, with ideas, suggestions or outright instructions

on how you could or should do this or that, and it is so easy to fall down the rabbit hole of people-pleasing in order to keep everybody else happy.

I promise you, this will make you and your partner miserable, because you can’t please all of the people all of the time. My best advice in this regard is to stay focused on each other. At the end of the day, this is the person you are lying next to and making your life with long after the wedding day is over, and much of what others want to interject about your wedding festivities will have little consequence to your ensuing marriage in the grand scheme of things.

Before actually sharing your wedding plans and ideas with others and getting in touch with vendors, make time to sit down and discuss what you both truly want

for your special day - any must-haves, hard ‘no’s, or important things to remember as you bring your families together to celebrate. Make it flow and make it fun, instead of having it look like a list of chores.

Throughout the planning process, take breaks often to have a date night and not talk about wedding things, just so that you can reconnect, recentre the relationship and refocus amidst all the excitement. Hear me well on this: It is even more important to prepare for your marriage and continue to water your relationship, than to be consumed with the details of a single event that you may have differing opinions on.

I’ve found it practically inevitable that one partner - usually the bride - will take the reins on wedding planning while the

35 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM
“Make it flow and make it fun, instead of having it look like a list of chores.”

other falls back and awaits instructions. Make sure that there aren’t aspects of the wedding that your spouse-to-be truly feels strongly about and would like to have input in. Don’t assume that all men only want to know what time to show up, ladies! And fellas, not every woman is going to turn into a bridezilla, contrary to popular opinion; let her know what you would like as well.

This leads me to my next point, which is something I always say to my brides at some stage during our time together.

36 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

How you handle the inevitable ups and downs of wedding planning is really just a test of how well you will handle the unexpected things life is bound to throw at you once you are married. If you are easily derailed by something as negligible as the napkins being the wrong shade of purple, you are in for a ride when real life things happen as a married couple.

Shift your perspective to see things as nuisances instead of disasters, and being able to pivot instead of getting disappointed or discouraged; agree that things won’t always be exactly the way one or both of you wanted them, and decide which of the ups, or downs, you are willing to let go and let flow, both individually and as a unit. Save your energy for the bigger issues that pop up in wedding planning and use those as opportunities to strengthen your relationship and prepare for your marriage along the way.

Believe me, there will be tests of your patience and endurance during this time; one of your bridal party might go AWOL, or the groomsmen may be unbothered about having their suits fitted three weeks before the wedding. There will be tests of your finances - a vendor may cancel or be unable to deliver on exactly what you agreed, and you may have to find a replacement at short notice, or you may have to make room in the budget for something you hadn’t accounted for previously.

There will be tests of your grace and forgiveness - someone may forget an important task, or you may have an additional cost to something on your wedding day, and you won’t see these things coming; it’s not about laying blame at this point, but finding solutions and giving a whole lot of grace because mistakes happen. Finally, there will be tests of your faith. Conflict or worse yet… loss.

There are several things that occurred during my own wedding planning that could have rocked the entire event or even the entire relationship, but the way we weathered those storms together in the end served as confirmation that yes, this is what a partner is supposed to be and this is what marriage is going to look like for us: Are we going to be at odds or are we going to be a team? The beauty of life is that you get to choose how you deal with what gets thrown at you, so keep remembering that this is simply training for the marathon ahead.

THERE WILL BE SETBACKS

Expect the unexpected when wedding planning, but don’t necessarily take this as a bad thing. As a solutions-oriented woman, the way I personally deal with unexpected issues is to use the time we have to find a solution, and we can cry about it later. That’s just me! Seriously though, if you have time, then there is still time, and this is where it’s really important to reinforce how crucial it is to have the right team around you, from your family support system to your bridal party to your vendors.

Putting the right people in place who can actually execute the tasks assigned to them means that you can relax just that little bit more knowing that it is handled. This is where I pause to emphasize that you need to trust those with the knowledge and experience in their respective fields. Micro-managing your vendors can be more harmful than helpful to your planning process and it contradicts the purpose of hiring those vendors in the first place: to execute the vision.

This is also where I’ll remind you to learn to let some things go; I always advise my brides to have three to five ‘non-negotiables’ when it comes to their wedding day, and then have the ability to be flexible on everything else, if only for the sake of peace of mind.

While family and friends will have lots of input if you give them an opening,

37 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM
PLANNING
MARRIAGE
WEDDING
IS A
REHEARSAL
39 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

I would implore you to be open to the ideas and suggestions of your vendors, those with the real experience and knowledge of the industry, and who possess the creative skills and connections to bring your vision to life in the best possible way.

From the time we began our wedding planning, I had my ‘dream team’ in place and left them to it; where I was unable to get the exact vendor I wanted in one particular area - a major setback for me because I only ever envisioned having this person onboard and there was no plan B - I turned to the other experts on my team for recommendations and then I left them to it, knowing that my team would not steer me wrong where I didn’t know how to do something myself.

That is what we in the industry are here for - your best interests. I can’t stress how important it is to have a good team, at a professional level and also, very importantly, at a personal level, because…

THERE WILL BE DISAPPOINTMENTS. SOME OF THOSE WILL BE FAMILY AND FRIENDS

This seems like a juicy piece of gossip, but a disappointment can be a raging thunderstorm and white rain disrupting your wedding photoshoot… Trust me on that one! We chose to see it as a blessing, and we got a few private moments in the hustle of the day to just sit and connect as husband and wife before the reception as we waited for the rain to subside.

However, there are other things that can happen to truly affect you at an emotional level, and have a lasting effect beyond the day itself. Disappointments don’t have to mean complete disruptions or dissolutions of friendships and relationships, but you cannot expect everyone around you to be as caught up in your wedding as you are.

As brides, we can sometimes operate in a bubble of ‘Me’, which can make us oblivious to some of the things those

around us are going through, even our closest friends, and some friends won’t want to rain on your parade by divulging bad news or real life issues to you during what should be a really happy and exciting time for you. Remember that the last two years have done a number on so many people, mentally, financially and emotionally, and we need to be a little more compassionate when people cannot afford to participate in all the activities associated with your wedding, where their time or money may be stretched between work and/or their own spouse and children.

Yes, there will be disappointments, but adding shame and guilt-trips to the mix will benefit no one. Again, choose your team wisely and delegate the tasks you know that individual can handle, even with whatever they have going on in their own life. One thing my husband said to me that stood out is:

“The best man doesn’t have to be your best friend… he has to be the best man for the job.”

Wisdom for your money. Gone are the days of asking family members and friends to be a bridesmaid just because you used to braid each other’s hair or just because you partied throughout university together or have great memories as cousins…even the best of friends can fail you when it comes to carrying out real and necessary tasks associated with your wedding, especially if they simply do not possess the skill set to get it done.

Pick people you love, who also love you, who you are happy to have stand with you as you enter into this union and won’t regret having them in your wedding photos or video when it’s all said and done. Pick people about whom you can truly say, “She/he had my back.” I’m so glad I did.

SPEAKING OF DISAPPOINTMENTS... SET THOSE BOUNDARIES

40 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

To the other extreme, you may have those in your life who are a little too serious about your wedding preparations, leading to a complete hijacking of you and your partner’s plans. It can be very disappointing to have your wishes overridden by a meddling family member, especially if you have given them any inkling of clearance to be in direct contact with your vendors. By the way, as a vendor, this can get confusing and off-putting, so make it clear from the start who will be the point of contact for a vendor and keep it consistent throughout.

Figure out ways to make meddlers and over steppers feel valued and included in the planning process without giving them too much weight in the big-ticket items, like delegating smaller tasks that will occupy them and still be a useful contribution while you get things done! Also remember: “If you don’t pay, you don’t have a say.” Far too many people have been derailed in their wedding planning by listening to the well-meaning insistence of onlookers who aren’t the ones putting out the dollars for the extravagance.

Since we’re on the topic of boundaries, have some boundaries of your own as the bridal couple. Don’t divulge all of your wedding details to everyone you meet and keep some things about your day private and sacred. For every well-wisher, there may be some who simply don’t want you and your partner to succeed…don’t give them the pleasure of knowing all your business well in advance of your big day.

Don’t worry about the ‘friend’ who possibly had the same kind of dress as you in her wedding six months ago now calling you a copy cat - let her see it on the day, then, not before. Don’t invite an abundance of opinions on your menu choices or venue by giving information to the wrong people. Protect your wedding planning space.

And finally, this is a big one…

ENJOY YOUR DAY!

It seems so simple, doesn’t it? And yet, there is so much happening in the lead-up to a wedding day, especially if you are doing most of the planning or making things yourself, that by the time the actual event rolls around, you and your partner are exhausted and can’t even enjoy the fruits of your labour.

I would recommend having a cut-off time on planning, especially in the few days before the wedding, where you know you’ve done what you can and now you’re simply ready to get married. It’s great advice, but it probably doesn’t go like this for many of us! At the very least, have a point person or two on the day who act as a buffer for you as you enjoy getting your hair and makeup done and prepping to get dressed; let them take the phone calls and send the last-minute messages and solve any issues that pop up that don’t require your attention.

You want to remember the day as it happens, not only through photos and videos in the aftermath. You can spend all your time planning the perfect wedding and have no real stories to tell. The one thing I knew I wanted and really planned for at our wedding was a dessert buffet…I never even got to see it! I hear it was amazing, though.

I promise you, the best stories and the greatest memories are in the trenches, the pivoting, the problem-solving, the teamwork and the candid shots. Get your rest - I didn’t, but right there is where one of my great wedding stories lies, for another time! Take your time, and soak it all in. Feel your most beautiful self on your wedding day and it will be your most beautiful day, regardless of what life throws your way.

You are loved!

SARA &

STORY & WILLIAM

“It quite literally took my breath away.”

“I received military orders to move to the east coast from California and I knew I couldn’t leave without my best friend and the love of my life, so I asked her if she would please excuse the hasty ask and just marry me so we could stay together during the move and subsequent pending deployment. She graciously agreed on the condition that I would still surprise her with traditional proposal when the time was right. Two weeks after our civil ceremony at City Hall in San Francisco, followed by a small, but special celebratory lunch at Spruce, I was diagnosed with stage III cancer.

This threw our world into a bit of a tailspin and we had to quickly figure out our careers, our relationship, and our life in general. Thankfully, after a successful surgery and a year of treatments, the world class doctors saved my life and I have had zero recurring disease since. On July 7th, 2018, in the middle of all that we were going through I knew that I had to make Sara, the love of my life, and the woman who stood by my side through all of the crazy that life sent our way, a true honest woman, and so I had a ring (that she had very, not so subtly, informed me she loved) designed and I proposed to her at our favorite French restaurant…. She said yes. We planned to have our wedding ceremony in 2019, but you know, cancer happened. Then we planned it again in 2020, but you know COVID happened, then in 2021… COVID happened again. So finally, in 2022 we were able to have the wedding of our dreams with all of our friends and family.”

The gorgeous stationery was designed by Karli Strohschein. Seeing Sara at the entrance of the church right before she walked down the aisle was definitely the groom’s fondest memory. He says,

“I visited a few notable bridal salons in San Francisco, but when I saw the Monique Lhuillier Bloom dress on social, I knew it was the one and was THE perfect dress for a Caribbean wedding! There were no bridal salons that carried the dress in San Francisco, so I jumped on a flight to LA to visit the Monique Lhuillier atelier. The experience didn’t disappoint and neither did the dress.”

As far as favourite images go, this one is definitely one of our top choices from this couple’s special day.

WEDDING DAY FUN! We love this darling photograph captured by Diane Coriat.

For the venue, the couple explains, “Will wanted to get married in the Caribbean and Sara wanted to get married in France… St Barth ended up being the perfect compromise! As soon as we set foot in St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, we just knew that’s where we wanted to have our religious ceremony. It’s a very special place! For our reception, we also knew immediately we wanted to have it at Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa. The location is exquisite and the team unparalleled. They made Will and I, and all our friends and family, feel so welcome and took exceptional care of us at every stage of the wedding planning process. It truly is a special place that Will and I can’t wait to go back to each and every year.”

“For our decor, we wanted something timeless that would complement the vibrant colors, lush landscape and turquoise hued waters on the gorgeous French island of St Barth.”

Sara and William were truly a sight for sore eyes. This photograph is just EVERYTHING and more.

“The best advice I can give is to enjoy each and every moment of the wedding planning process because you will never get those moments back. Have a sense of humor because no matter how hard you try, nothing is going to be perfect, so let it go and enjoy the process. Plan in advance, but not too far because it’s a very time consuming process. Hire a wedding planner!! We were extremely lucky to work with Jenn Johnson and her team at Epic Presentations. This wedding and all of the logistics involved in hosting a destination wedding, quite literally wouldn’t have happened without her by our side.”

“I was just completing my Master’s when I got stuck in the UK due to lockdowns during the pandemic. After months of patiently waiting, I arrived in Trinidad and was mandated to quarantine in UWI Debe for 7 days. Josh picked me up, faked a detour to his place and proposed. He couldn’t wait any longer and I was definitely caught by surprise.”

“The dress definitely exceeded my budget but I tried it on ‘for fun’. It fit given the short timeline I knew that I wanted a dress that required no was no question and my mother agreed. This dress was for

fit like a glove, and alterations. There me. “

“My veil was specially made by my mother. Also, as we pulled up to the church, I realized that my wrist looked a bit bare. One of my bridesmaids and oldest friends took off her bracelet and told me to wear it - a last minute ‘something borrowed’ that made me feel complete!”

“Our colours were blush or rose gold and navy blue. We honestly picked the navy blue together, mainly because it’s the accent colour we chose for our house! I wanted something pretty that complemented it, and after many many hours spent on Pinterest, I picked blush pink. i love sparkle and wanted just a touch to accent, and thought rose gold complemented that combination beautifully. I’ve now become slightly obsessed with the colour combination and I’m partial to blush pink everything.”

The beautiful wedding dress was designed by Made With Love Bridal. The groom wore a navy Kenneth Cole suit, white dress shirt, blush pink tie and brown shoes.

The bride had the pleasure of wearing a custom bridal headpiece made locally by her cousin, Jerrica – owner of Butterfly Kisses Cayman. She made it just for her and she loved it!

Yes loves, that is a puppy! Our hearts cannot take it!

“I tried on what felt like a million dresses, and was torn between two choices. I actually sent photos of both to my photographer to ask her opinion on which she thought would photograph better on the beach because I needed some reason to make a choice! I went back to the bridal boutique a few days after trying them on for my follow-up appointment because I was truly torn and needed to try them both on one more time.

I want to thank Rachel, the owner of Joy Bridal Boutique, for being such a great help. She was so sweet and kind and answered all 300,000 questions I had. She really made me feel great about the dresses - it was the first time I felt like a bride! My mom, sister and sister-in-law were with me, and I video-chatted my other bridesmaids to help me with making the choice. I was back and forth between the two – they were quite different as well – but ultimately made the choice based on which one I thought Geoff would like best because I was in love with both!”

The photographer was Jenna from Jenna Leigh Photography. As the couple explains, “we had a few photographers in mind based on some research we did by going through their Instagram photos and websites/portfolios. We reached out to the ones we liked the most for quotes and to get to know them a bit better. Jenna was by far our favorite – her personality is so sweet and I felt instantly connected with her. She made us feel so comfortable, but also important – she kept reiterating that this was our day and she wanted to capture photos the way we wanted them to be captured. I genuinely loved working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone. Not to mention, our photos are stunning!!”

The joy in their smiles...this photograph is the sweetest thing. Stunning does not even begin to describe this bouquet from Celebrations Ltd.

Ashley’s elegant wedding dress was designed by Eddy K Bridal.

“My favorite part of the wedding was watching my wife walk down the steps surround by the most beautiful scenery, and surrounded by so many of our friends and family. I did not think I would cry, but I teared up instantly.”

The groom wore a linen suit and cognac shoes. Perfect for a tropical destination wedding in Mexico.

“Hotel Xcaret took my breath away from the the first time I saw the pictures of the caves. I knew I did not want to take away from the beauty so I chose lots of greenery that would enhance the natural decor. Green is also my favourite color and the little touches of metallics and lush monstera leaves completed the look. Even though we chose flowers and greenery, Hotel Xcaret is so beautiful that even if we had not, it still would have been gorgeous.”

“I was browsing the internet and searched for the most beautiful destination weddings. I saw the photos of the dining set up of the caves and fell in love. Then I saw the Cuevas Kayak area which featured the stunning waterfall and knew that would be a great ceremony site. There are so many beautiful locations at this resort it was hard to narrow it down. I could not have made the choices and selections without Cheryl and Shea from Yellow umbrella events.

They had video tours of each of the locations and walked me through each step of the booking. They were incredible to work with and put my mind at ease.”

The groom wore custom Spokes Apparel and the groomsmen decked out in The Black Tux.

Sandra tried on about 30 dresses and ended up choosing a dress she saw online, without even trying it on! As she explained, “that is how sure I was of the dress I wanted. It was love at first (virtual) sight. I was accompanied by my sister and two friends (all bridesmaids) during the dress shopping experience. Unfortunately, my mom was unable to join me in person because she lives far away but I was able to Facetime her so she could be a part of the experience.”

The couple chose to do first look shots, and we cannot stop swooning! Love is so beautiful.

“Our dream wedding was an outdoor, chic garden wedding. We wanted to celebrate romance and elegance under the trees and stars, while fusing our Cameroonian and Jamaican cultures through music and of course, the gathering of our family and friends. We love nature and incorporated it with lots of flowers and greenery. Since it was a spring time wedding, we decided to use muted pastel tones of peach, blush, lilac and pale blue, with accents of emerald green and gold.”

123 ADRIANAWEDDINGS.COM

For the venue, they both knew that they wanted the wedding in Jamaica since the groom is Jamaican. They wanted an outdoor wedding with a view of the Caribbean Sea. Having the freedom to bring their wedding vision to life without the restrictions of a resort was also very important to them. So they were excited to find out about Prospect Estate and see it in person. It is a beautiful, large venue in a central location accessible to all of their family and friends who travelled from near and far
