PRESIDENT’S REPORT DECEMBER 2011 The Christmas Rally at Himatangi Holiday Park was a great success. 19 vans plus visitors Liz and Les Galloway (2nd rally) As always Margaret and Dennis made us very welcome and kindly donated a Christmas hamper to raffle. Ann and Don Greig who were in Australia also donated 2 raffles many thanks Saturday morning I made a presentation and welcomed Shirley and Brian Tong into the club. It was nice to have Joan and Dave Shaw rallying with us again, Ruth and Bruce Turner as well, health wise Bruce has had a very difficult year Many thanks to Adrian, the committee, and you all for making the weekend so much fun everything just flowed. The fellowship friendship and camaraderie we are experiencing in the club is just wonderful. Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2012. Regards George
Xmas Rally-Himatangi Beach Dec 2011 What a great rally with 20 vans/motor homes attending. The weather helped as we were able to at last spend a happy hour sitting outside in the sun, in fact there were signs of sun burn the next day! It was good to see Dave and Joan with their new van, and Bruce able to move around a lot better now after a difficult winter sorting out hips and knees. People went off and did their own thing Saturday, whilst some committee members went into Foxton to get the food for the Saturday evening meal. As always Denis and Margaret had the camp looking lovely with plenty of coloured lights up. The tree was decorated along with a few vans. Congratulations to Shirley and Alan who won the prize for best decorated, and thanks to all those who participated. Father Christmas duly arrived at 3.30 much to the grandchildrens delight and distributed presents to all. Our thanks to him for another stirling job. We know it was very hot for you, being more used to the snowy north. With help from everyone the feast was enjoyed by all, what a spread! Special thanks to Bev for basting the ham and Larry for carving it. A great effort had gone into deserts this year with a great variety of yummy sweet things. Some stayed around for a sing along with Alan supporting on his guitar and uke, and Larry bringing out his new “whistle”, a cross between a recorder and a sax. Thanks to the fire alarm we all had broken sleep! but woke to a shower of rain which soon dried up. Plenty of food for morning tea with Ivy making a large batch of mince pies. Don and Anne, away visiting rellies in Aussie, donated two raffle prizes which along with the basket of goodies donated by Margaret and Dennis and two prizes from the club, made the raffle larger than normal. Val and Brian continued their run of luck with club raffles drawing three of the numbers plus the lucky van prize. (They returned one prize for a redraw). Misdemeanours where identified over the weekend by Ivy and Adrian. The wooden spoon going to Trevor for his efforts in fixing his awning by using a large hammer, and when that didn’t work jumping on the stays!!(we hope all is well and you are able to repair properly) A number of others were noted including Adrian who had added a further $1 per night discount to the camp fees (they should have been $28 per night and he got it wrong in the N/L) Thanks to Margaret for being so understanding! John Craig played up a it in Bev’s absence, Don Webb missed loading Sandra’s vodka (or was it gin). Diane Cotter got confused about the name of the wine she liked, Stony River, not “sex on the rocks”!!! A great weekend, and a good chance to catch up with all the club. The committee

Christmas shopping The judge asked the defendant what he was charged with “Doing my Christmas shopping early’” was the reply. “That’s not illegal!! How early were you shopping? Asked the judge. “Before the store was open’” replied the defendant.
