The NISSAN TRAILSEEKER is an exciting 5 leg mountain bike series based in and around Gauteng. We utilize some of the best and most central biking venues in Gauteng, and ensure that the trails cater for all levels of riders. Many of the single tracks and water crossing are custom built specifically for each race to ensure that the route is top notch, adrenaline stimulating awesomeness! Mountain biking is truly a soul cleansing and lifestyle defining activity that can be enjoyed by all shapes and sizes, young and old.

The Hakahana leg of the NISSAN TRAILSEEKER is owned by ADVENDURANCE. Although the NISSAN TRAILSEEKER started in 2009, the Hakahana leg was only introduced in 2012, in that year we already drew over 1500 participants, adding another awesome venue close to riders doorstep. The routes have been built over the past 4 years, some of the routes do not stay open year round and need to be cut open. Many hours have been spent carving single track, building bridges, cutting grass and hacking through thick vegetation. Thanks to all the 36+ land owners that the route traverses, without your co-operation this event will not be possible. NISSAN TRAILSEEKER FUN RACE A fast and flat start will give you a chance to warm up before you enter the first single track and river crossing. District roads and jeep track will then lead you back towards the finish, however the fun is not over yet and a beautiful piece of shaded single track next to the canal will help the kilometres tick by. The fun race is aimed at the inexperienced mountain biker who seldom rides much off road and does not have a great deal of fitness. The route will have mostly duel tracks and gravel roads and is considered easy, once you can complete the FUN RACE in 1h30min or less you can move up to the Half-Marathon distance. NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Half-Marathon A fast and flat start will give you a chance to warm up before you hit the “Frank’s T” at 14km. You will enjoy a 360 degree view of the surrounding Magalisberg and Hartebeespoort Dam before making your way back down. Once back in the valley, you will be treated to some of Hakahana’s finest hand-carved single tracks before passing through the Orient. Keep an eye out for wild-life as the Orient is well stocked with a variety of South African plains game. Make sure that you still have enough energy to enjoy the final 5kms of mind blowing single track. Relatively fit, intermediate skilled, recreational riders will find the short climbs and some of the rocky surfaces challenging. Where the surfaces and descents are dangerous it is recommended that riders be cautious. Please remember to keep left and be cautious to faster riders who may want to pass. Words like “keep left”, “on your right” or “track” are often used. If you have difficulty with a section and resort to walking, please keep out of the way of upcoming cyclists.

NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Marathon A fast and flat start will give you a chance to warm up before you hit the “Franks T” climb at 14km. From here you will decend again down “Mzili’s Ghost” before starting “The Wagon Trail” climb which leads you onto the “Rinkhals” single track and to the highest point of the route at 1480m. From the “Rinkhals”, you will be rewarded with a fast and rocky technical descent through “Tosca’s Freepass” and “Bains Brain” before climbing again to the saddle and over the ridge into “Gomez”. A short sharp descent will lead you onto the Northern side of the ridge where 18km of fast mostly flat farm roads and dual track await. The short sharp descent into Gomez should not be forgotten too soon as you will find yourself climbing back up and over the same ridge before cruising through the Orient and into Gerotek. After exiting Gerotek, the last 3km are pure exhilaration and enjoyment as you cruise home on hand-built single tracks to a medal and cold USN Spike. TRAILSEEKERSERIES.CO.ZA 12.

Upon registering with SAS each cyclist receives a permanent and unique SAS number; which also doubles as a race number and timing chip. SAS gathers race results from various race organisers and uses these to create a race index. This enables SAS to divide large numbers into smaller batches in accordance with a riders ability which effectively eliminates congestion. Riders are provided with a more enjoyable and safer riding experience.
