The Bundu Bash leg of the NISSAN TRAILSEEKER is owned by ADVENDURANCE. Although the NISSAN TRAILSEEKER started in 2009, it was previously known as the FPC (Fritz Pienaar Cycles) race which started in 2008. In that year we already drew 800 participants, which showed that people were looking for a race on their doorstep. The routes have been built over the past two years. Many of the routes do not stay open year round and need to be cut open especially for the event. Many hours have been spent carving single track, building bridges, cutting grass and hacking through thick vegetation.

Thanks to all the 15+ land owners that the route traverses, without your co-operation this event will not be possible. Special thanks to the new Buffelsdrift MTB park and the ARC Roodeplaat and the Buffelsdrift conservancy that incorporates sections of the routes. NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Half-Marathon The route goes out in a northerly direction across a river, slowly climbing into cattle camps. At 8km it will split from the 70km where it will follow mostly gravel and dual tracks before crossing the river once again. The first single tracks will be encountered along the river after waterpoint 1. These brand new trails include the Secret Forest and Donga Dash with some amazing wooden bridges and flowing trails next to the Pienaars River. Passing over the “Advendurance Floating Bridge” marks waterpoint 2 at Sefudi Coffee shop which is the base of the Buffelsdrift MTB Park. This will see riders start the major climb of the day named “Kwagga Climb”, 4km long with some rewarding contours along the way. Easy riding will follow with some sandy bits toward the reservoir for waterpoint 3. From here it is an easy 10km to go. Turning back down, the riders will hit some fast, wide single track down “Spook Bult” next to the Canal, joining the 70km with only 3kms to go.

NISSAN TRAILSEEKER Marathon The route goes out in a northerly direction across a river, slowly climbing into cattle camps. At 8km it will split from the 40km where it will follow mostly gravel and dual tracks. The top riders should average around 32km/h, seeing the first waterpoint at 16km, continuing with these fast roads before crossing the river once again. From here riders will start climbing towards the “Dunlop Hot Spot” and waterpoint 2 at 28km. Crossing the tar road, riders will climb up the “Powerline climb”. At the top riders will follow some more fast farm roads heading out to “Buffel weg”, and through the main gate of the Buffelsdrift Bike Park; hitting the first purpose built single track, going through Ntabama lodge. Riders will make their way towards “Super Tube” putting a smile on everyone’s faces. At the bottom riders will cross the newly built “Container Agents Route Crossing” into the Buffelsdrift Pump track. This will be the major waterpoint of the day and also an “Ingnite Braai Zone” so be sure to rest and catch a “boerie” before heading on, because what lies ahead are three climbs that need rested legs. Awaiting riders will be “Okkies se pad”, “Croc Trail” and “Cement Climb”, each steeper than it’s predecessor but luckily shorter. Those that forgave “Okkies”, survived the crocodiles attack and the mambas strike will be well rewarded with waterpoint 4 the Torq Zone Oasis. With 7kms to go make sure you stay focussed as you will be going down the most technical single track of the race called “Maniyak Track”. Fast gravel and dual tracks will merge with the 40km after the crossing the canal with 3km to go, taking you to the finish.
