Southern Downs Regional Council has been approached by The Allora Advertiser about two issues that are of concern to Allora residents.

First issue - what progress has been made for repairs to our Community Hall and when will it be available for use?
A Council spokesperson supplied this information about the Hall (which is almost word for word received by The Allora Advertiser in July 2022)
Allora Community Hall
“Unfortunately there is significant damage to the roof structure of the Allora Community Hall, which further extends to the flooring system and load bearing walls. Council is waiting for the final report from the consulting engineers which is expected in the coming weeks. The true cost of repairs will only be known once the remedial design is complete. Once advised of the recommended works, Council will seek quotes on remediation repairs and investigate possible sources of grants and funding. Council has a duty of care to the Allora community and will only reopen the hall once it is safe to do.” a Council Spokesperson said.
The second issue put to the Southern Downs Regional Council is the future of the Senior Citizens Hall in Allora.
