Zone 5 Rugby League Carnivals
Monday, the 1st of May will see the annual muster of players to Platz Oval, Clifton for a Skills and Drills afternoon from 4pm.
Central Downs Junior Rugby league will have their u9/u10 and u11/u12 teams participating in the upcoming Zone 5 carnivals in Wynnum Manly this year

The u35kg/u10 team will once again be coached by Ian Brady with Allora Rugby League identity and a Doyen of coaching Mr Roy Nott his assistant while the u43kg/ u12 team will be coached by Peter Cavanagh with George Gall and Adam May his assistants
Peter Cavanagh, Pres-ident of the Central Downs Junior Rugby League is once again looking forward to great competition in both age groups, saying “There is more to this Carnival than winning games, it is centred more on player development as footballers and as people, that is what sets this carnival apart from the rest”. “The players form lifelong friendships, the parent’s bond together, regardless of their home teams, it’s such a great fortnight of footy”.
This year’s Central Downs teams comprises players from both Warwick clubs, Collegians and Suburbs and the Pittsworth Danes and Wattles Warriors
The carnival dates are u10/ u35kg from Sunday 25th June until Friday 30th June while the u12/ u43kg carnival is from Sunday 2nd July until Friday 7th July.
Players will be invited to attend the carnivals if they meet the weight and age criteria (no player can weigh over 35.0kg for the u9/ u10 group and no player can weigh over 43.0kg for the u11/u12 group please weigh your child before attending to avoid disappointment) and satisfy the coaching staff that they have the necessary skills in a series of skills and drills exercises.

29/06/1935 – 20/04/2023 aged 87 years
Descendant of the Clarke and Gordon families from the Allora District.
Relatives and Friends are warmly invited to farewell Norm at St. Columba’s Catholic Church, Wilston Brisbane, on Thursday 4th May 2023 at 11am.
The following day on Friday 5th May 2023 at 11am, a burial service will be held at the Allora Cemetery where he will be interred with his grandparents Joseph & Sarah Eleanor Clarke.
