DEVELOPMENT got underway for the $135M state-of-the-art, passenger and freight terminal in Geelong’s port of Corio Quay this year, which will form the new home of Spirit of Tasmania.

20 YEARS, DESIGNING AND ENGINEERING ELECTRICAL CONTROL SOLUTIONS FOR STRATEGIC APPLICATIONS, NATIONWIDE.

The 12-hectare site will be transformed over the next 12 months and local business, Maddison Wright Engineering have been appointed by Kane Constructions to fabricate and install the structural steel for the construction of the passenger terminal building.

Maddison Wright Engineering is a growing Australian manufacturing company that is experiencing remarkable success. It is a multidisciplinary engineering company that provide turnkey engineering solutions. The project will provide more job opportunities within the company in both Shepparton and Geelong workshops. It is the company's largest job to date and at its peak, they will have 25 skilled boilermakers and riggers working on the project.

“It’s a privilege to be involved for this landmark project for the Geelong region. The Spirit of Tasmania terminal will bring more focus and attention to Geelong- and is just the beginning for Maddison Wright Engineering, with more huge projects coming this year,” said Maddison Wright Engineering managing director, Heath Wright.

The move to Geelong for Spirit of Tasmania will provide the company with a unique opportunity to enhance the passenger experience and provide room to expand its freight offering in line with demand for many years to come.
