BLYTHE, Calif. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Solar Trust of America (STA) will break ground on its signature energy project, the Blythe Solar Power Project, the largest solar power facility in the world, on June 17, at 11:00 AM in Blythe, at Palo Verde Community College Auditorium, located on One College Drive north on Defrain Blvd. The Blythe Project received a conditional commitment for a $2.1 billion loan guarantee from the Department of Energy in April. STA worked closely with the Department of the Interior (DOI) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to secure regulatory approval and permits to begin the initial phases of construction on the project last fall.
