ABOUT THE ESCOBAR PROJECT CLIENT'S PROFILE The Escobar family found the perfect house to transform into their future dream home. This young family with a daughter and two dogs, want an informal style, an open space, and an overall classic style that incorporates their warm and inviting personalities.

DESIGN CONCEPT A combination of elegance and comfort with a modern twist.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Design a bespoke home featuring clean, simple, and serene interiors with a focus on function and organization.

FURNITURE PLAN Without good lighting, even INITIAL ASSESSMENT the most open and attractive space will feel dark and uninviting.

Light Fixtures Create the Perfect Mood


THE ENTRYWAY PURPOSE The entryway sets the tone of the entire home. This relatively small space should be warm and welcoming.

REQUIREMENTS Storage Space/Bench Circulation Lighting/Wall Scones Mirror

LIGHTING DESIGN Recessed light will indicate the circulation path. Wall scones located at the landing of the stairs and at the main entry will create a welcoming and warm feeling.


THE DINING ROOM PURPOSE A place to gather for everyday meals and special occasions.

REQUIREMENTS Comfortable Seating Relaxed Atmosphere Focal point: Large Chandelier w/Decorative Medallion (character and dimension) Accent wall Textiles to Soften and Warm the Room Large Dining Table

LIGHTING DESIGN The dining room is not just for eating. It’s a multi-functional space, used for homework, playing games, and other tasks. A chandelier will help separate the space visually and add a bold glamorous look. Recessed lighting to highlight the molding wall and add visual interest preventing the space from feeling flat.


THE KITCHEN PURPOSE An embracing area for family and social life.

REQUIREMENTS Light Color Cabinets (Shaker Style) Hanging Pendants, Recessed Light Comfortable Seating SS Appliances Quartz Countertops Simple Hardware Island

LIGHTING DESIGN The kitchen is the heart and soul of the home. It’s where we read, do our homework, prepare signature meals for those we love and gather with our friends after dinner parties. This space needs layers of illumination to make it really shine; including task lighting, accent lighting, and general lighting. For general and task lighting (specific areas) recessed lights. Pendants over the kitchen island will make sure that each end is fully illuminated, as well as the central section.


THE BATHROOM PURPOSE A fully functional and beautiful bathroom will improve the homeowner’s overall appeal and value.

REQUIREMENTS Vanity Light/Wall Scones Mirror Ample Counter Space WC Bathtub/Shower Vanity Sink Shaker cabinet (vanity) Timeless Faucet and Accessories

LIGHTING DESIGN Bathrooms require practical and functional lighting. In terms of CRI, a fixture with a high CRI (90+) to provide an excellent color rendering. For color temperature, a warm color temperature (2700K – 3000K) because they are flattering and inviting. Wall sconces on each side of the mirror (mount with the center of the fixtures about 60" high and about 28" apart- generally accepted measures from the American Lighting Association). For the shower a wet rated recessed fixture.


THE KID'S ROOM PURPOSE A space where function meets fun.

REQUIREMENTS Homework Station Activity Table Storage (Walls and Movable) Colorful Fun Textiles Activity Space (Rock Climbing wall) Reading Space (Tee-pee or Nook)

LIGHTING DESIGN The kid's area require practical and functional lighting. A track lighting will add style and practicality. This fixture is flexible and functional, with adjustable track heads and highly decorative pendants to enhance the interior of the home.


THE LIVING-ROOM PURPOSE A multi-functional space. A comfy landing spot for the family and guests to settle in when entertaining.

REQUIREMENTS Comfortable Seating Coffee Table Area Rug Focal Point: Fireplace Concealed TV Chandelier and Wall scones.

LIGHTING DESIGN A chandelier to add style and ambiance (incandescent lamp yellow-white tone and it appears warm and natural). Wall scones to each side of the fireplace to highlight artwork and architectural features (stylish and practical). Wall sconces offer another layer of lighting and add an ambience to the space. They also help direct attention towards the fireplace.
