Jon Junior Calvo Chief of Staff Office of the Governor of Guam

Jon Junior Calvo currently serves as the Chief of Staff to Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio. He was initially appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff when the Administration took office in 2019.

Jon Junior is married to Jodee Catahay and together they have two sons, Juan Mason and James Matias.

Prior to joining the Administration, he served as the District Chief of Staff to former Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo where he first joined the Congressional office as a Policy Advisor in 2011 and then later became District Director.

Mr. Calvo attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and returned to Guam where he received his bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Guam in May 2010 and later received his master’s degree in Public Administration.

Before entering federal and local government services, Jon Junior was the editor-in-chief for the U Matuna, the island’s only Catholic newspaper, and public relations manager for the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral- Basilica in the Archdiocese of Agaña, Guam. He is a member of several non-profit, faith-based, and young professional organizations dedicated to community service initiatives throughout the year.

Jon is of Chamorro descent and speaks the indigenous language conversationally.

In January 2005, Jon was selected to serve a six-month appointment as Congresswoman Bordallo’s first Congressional Page to the United States House Page Program in Washington, D.C. The program afforded Jon the privileged opportunity to attend the Capitol Page School in the Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress. Jon Junior reported to the office of the Clerk of the House to provide supplemental and administrative support for House operations and Members of Congress on the floor of the House.
