Julio Lucas is a creative whizz, whose portfolio embraces branding, motion graphics, video, mobile applications, websites and more. While he enjoys working with digital mediums, he also appreciates the traditional, such as graphite pencil on drawing paper. Winner of the 2014 iPhone Photography Awards’ Photographer of the Year title, Lucas is a strong believer in the power of mobile photography.

Olha Romaniuk is a Singapore-based senior exhibit designer, with clients ranging from local art galleries to international museums, and a writer for a number of travel, design and architectural magazines, such as Dwell and Surface Asia. Olha considers herself to be an avid traveller and a selfproclaimed foodie, and spends much of her vacation time exploring countries and cuisines all over the world.

Adi Nugroho Hadiwidjojo is a fashion and fine art photographer based out of Jakarta, Bandung and Yogyakarta. His passion is finding the unexpected perspectives and using simple light and shadow to evoke emotions. He also manages Waga Studio and Gallery. facebook. com/Wagagallery

A graduate of Parahyangan Catholic University, Anais Budiman worked for several years as a newspaper journalist before finally deciding to travel the globe and become a freelance writer. She has contributed numerous articles on society, politics, culture and travel to several national and international publications. She now resides in Tangerang and is working on a biography project in her spare time.

Sendy Aditya Saputra, or ‘Sendy’ as he’s called by his mates, found his creative calling early on. “Ever since I felt the nature of Indonesia calling to my soul, I’ve been drawn to expression through writing and photography as a travel journalist. I’ve never looked back from that moment.”

Julio Lucas adalah sosok genius yang kreatif, dengan sejumlah pengalaman dalam branding, motion graphics, video, mobile application, dan situs. Dia juga sangat mengapresiasi media manual seperti pensil dan kertas gambar. Perito Mountain The Perito Moreno Glacier (Spanish: Glaciar Perito Moreno) is located in the Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz province, Argentina. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s without doubt one of the most unbelievable locations I have ever travelled to. This photo is only one of the many amazing sights I saw while trekking across the glacier. The landscape was nearly alien, with ice as far as you could see, brilliant ponds of crystal-clear water and an unbelievable mountain range. Gletser Perito Moreno (Spanyol: Glaciar Perito Moreno) adalah gletser terletak di Taman Nasional Los Glaciares, di sebelah barat daya Provinsi Santa Cruz, Argentina. iPhone Photography I’ve been carrying an iPhone around in my pocket since 2005. I generally used it for checking emails, playing games, making calls and taking the occasional photograph.

Owning multiple iPhones over the last decade has taught me a lot about the device’s camera flexibility. However, in truth I wasn’t very pleased with its functionality until after the iPhone 4. But I have always loved the fact that mobile photography is discreet and non-invasive. My iPhone is always in my pocket and it allows me constant opportunities to gain a better perspective of the environment I’m in, capture a moment and instantly share it with friends and family. And now as mobile technology becomes more and more advanced, the possibilities of creating striking, beautiful images with your phone are endless.

Paris, France This photo was taken from my hotel room on a beautiful summer’s day in Paris, France. The photograph only captures a small cropping of the Eiffel Tower yet still captures the soul of the city for me. Paris is a city of wonders. To increase my zoom length I used an Olloclip Telephoto lens made for iPhone 5. If you’re a mobile photographer, Paris is a must-visit location.

London Eye One of the best views of London can be seen while riding the London Eye – a giant observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames. In the photo you can see London’s beautiful Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament. The London Eye offers views as far as the eye can see in every direction – a highly recommended vantage point for any photographer. Big Fish Pond The weather was cold, cloudy and a little overcast. Ironically, when shooting with a mobile device I prefer these conditions. The low light helps bring more saturated colours into the image. Big Fish Pond Lake is located outside the small city of Jenkins, Kentucky, USA. I was able to achieve this look once I enabled HDR mode. HDR mode allowed me to capture the reflections of the clouds in the still lake water. Cuaca kala itu terasa dingin, mendung dan agak gelap. Jellyfish, Sarasota, Florida This photograph is a great example of what the iPhone 5 can do in a low-light environment. The photo was taken at a depth of around 15m+ underwater. I housed my iPhone inside a Seashell Waterproof Case. The case is graded for 30m. I later enhanced the photograph with the Snapseed photo app created by Google. I’ve taken my iPhone on several dives since then and plan to do more underwater shots in the future. Foto ini menjadi contoh kerja kamera iPhone 5 di keadaan minim cahaya. Trekking Glacier In 2014 I was named photographer of the year at the prestigious IPPA awards. This photo was taken after trekking seven hours across the icy, windy Perito Moreno Glacier. Originally I wanted to take a panoramic photo, but the glacier was just too windyâ&#x20AC;Ś I couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t keep my hands steady. So I opted to take a few quick photos. While my guide was trekking ahead I took this photo. What I like most about this is the perspective that the silhouette of my guide provides. He helps create a sense of scale. In truth, the photo doesnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t do the environment justice.

Top Tips We all carry a device in our pockets with the ability to take great photos; as with any form of photography all we need to do is learn how to maximise the capability of our tools. • Make sure you wipe off your lens regularly. It gets surprisingly dirty. • Always use the grid feature to help you compose your shots (most Android devices have a similar feature too). • As much as possible, avoid using the camera’s zoom. Most camera phones only have digital zoom, not optical zoom, which will result in overly pixilated shots. • If you’re shooting with an iPhone, use the headphones that came with it as a remote shutter release. This is a great way to take steadier shots. Plug them in, open the camera app and press the ‘+’ volume button to snap a pic. • Hold down the camera’s shutter to take multiple photos in rapid succession; perfect for action shots. • Before fussing with filters, it’s generally best to properly adjust your photo’s brightness and saturation settings.

Caracas Entrance After an hour’s drive from Simón Bolívar International Airport, you are greeted by a tunnel that leads into Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. Above the tunnel you will see numerous colourful buildings. Called favelas, they can be seen throughout the mountainsides of Caracas. I always enjoy driving through this tunnel because it reminds me of the pride that Venezuelans have and their love of their country, whether shown by wearing Venezuelan colours, waving their flag or painting their homes in unity to resemble the flag of Venezuela.
