Tudo começa na garagem do Rui Rofino, onde ele e o Clemente Almeida estão a compor os primeiros temas da sua nova banda WE SEA. Estes dois membros dos Broad Beans decidiram começar um novo projeto sozinhos. Uma mistura de ideias que tinham guardadas numa gaveta e que deram como resultado um belo “cancioneiro electrónico”. Os seus temas querem render uma homenagem ao cancioneiro açoriano, duma forma minimalista. O Rui na parte da voz, beats e ambiência e o Clemente no teclado. Fazer temas em português e trabalhar com a métrica electrónica nunca foi fácil. É este um dos maiores desafios da banda, que diz ser “egoísta” por compor à vontade sem preocupações com a reação do publico. It all begins in the garage of Rui Rofino, where he and Clemente Almeida are composing the first songs for their new band WE SEA. They are both members of Broad Beans and decided to start a new project on their own. A mixture of ideas they had kept in the drawer now results in a beautiful “electronic songbook”. Their works are intended to pay tribute to Azorean folksongs in a minimalistic approach. Rui is the voice and takes care of the beats and ambiance, whilst Clemente is responsible for the keyboard. Combining Portuguese lyrics with electronic metrics has never been an easy task. That is one of the biggest challenges for the band, who consider themselves “egoistic” since they compose freely without worrying about the public’s reaction.

O Estúdio é um atelier situado na Rua D’Água que forma parte do Quarteirão da cultura - a crescer aos poucos na baixa de Ponta Delgada. As caras do Estúdio são Sara França e Fábio Oliveira. Cada um deles tem as suas próprias marcas. Sara é designer de “Sara França” e “Valentina”. Cria peças de vestuário com materiais muito ricos que vende em Ponta Delgada e Lisboa. Fábio é o artesão que fabrica para a “Rústicas” e “Pele o Osso”. Inventa todo tipo de acessórios fabricados em pele desde chinelos, carteiras... até mochilas que desenha em conjunto com a Sara. O melhor do Estúdio é aparecer lá, assistir ao seu processo de trabalho e poderes personalizar as peças ao teu gosto. “O Estúdio” is an atelier located at Rua D’Água and is part of the “Quarteirão da Cultura” (Culture’s Quarter) which is slowly developing in Ponta Delgada’s downtown. The studio’s faces are Sara França and Fábio Oliveira. Each has their own brands. Sara is the designer for “Sara França” and “Valentina”. She creates clothing items from very rich materials, which she then sells in Ponta Delgada and Lisbon. Fábio is the artisan for “Rústicas” and “Pele e Osso”. He invents all kinds of leather accessories like slippers, wallets and even backpacks, which he designs together with Sara. Best of all, you can just show up in the studio, look at how they work and customize the garments to your liking.

Natural de Lisboa, Cristina Ferreira vive em Santa Maria desde 2010. O seu trabalho enquanto artesã abrange a cerâmica, a olaria, a azulejaria e o patchwork. Recentemente criou a marca “Barros & Linhas”. Na cerâmica e olaria procura dar corpo e alma a um pedaço de barro, dar-lhe vida através da forma, da cor e das várias texturas que utiliza, podendo misturar diferentes materiais e técnicas em simultâneo. Sente que este é ainda um mundo enorme por desbravar. O patchwork é outra das suas paixões. Aqui a sua grande inspiração provem da cor e do padrão dos tecidos procurando compor e misturar figuras geométricas de forma harmoniosa. O desafio actual é juntar o barro ao tecido. Born in Lisbon, Cristina Ferreira lives in Santa Maria since 2010. Her work as artisan covers ceramics, pottery, tiles and patchwork. Recently she created the brand “Barros & Linhas”. In ceramics and pottery Cristina seeks to give body and soul to a lump of clay, give it life through form, colour and various textures. Cristina mixes different materials and techniques, simultaneously, and feels that it is still a huge world to discover. The patchwork is another passion and the inspiration comes from the colour and pattern of tissues. She loves to compose and mix geometric figures harmoniously. One challenge lies ahead - add the clay to the tissue.
