We are a Dutch company and we’ve been making bike clothing since 1966 when three bike wholesalers in Alkmaar decided to work together and founded the Alkmaarse Groothandels Unie. It was a time in which a lot of people couldn’t afford a car, and bikes where the best solution for transport available. From the very beginning we at AGU endeavored to help people use their bikes as often, and with as much freedom and ease of use as possible with bike wear, rain wear and bike bags. Cycling is in the very DNA of the Dutch culture. We know all the challenges a cyclist can face, and we work on the best solutions to each and every one of them, every day. It is not only our passion, but it’s also in our blood. The Dutch are sober, creative, realistic, but also ambitious. This combination means that we are always looking for the best quality for the best price. We make products that last with a modest but stylish design made to inspire.

PRO SPORTS For years, we have been proud partners in the world of cycling. With riders such as Cees Stam, Leontien van Moorsel, Tom Dumoulin and the legendary Panasonic team, the Rabo team and now also Team Jumbo-Visma. Those partnerships continuously inspire and motivate us to keep taking new steps. To make products better and better. Just like riders, we too strive for the best possible result. Our partnership with Team Jumbo-Visma is not only about supporting and facilitating the success of the team, but about the constant improvement of our products to meet the standards of performance and quality set by the most exacting cyclists in the world. The cyclists of the team test new products extensively and offer their experience and feedback so that we can perfect our products. And it’s not only the kit we design and develop for them to wear during training and races, the exact same solutions and technologies that drive their performance can be found in all the bike wear which is also available for all cyclists.

INNOVATION The world is changing at a rapid pace. The question is not whether we can keep up, but how we deal with it. Innovation is necessary to make our products better, smarter, and cleaner and has always been at the very core of what AGU does. Throughout the years we have introduced a host of innovative products, including the first light weight bike bags, the first carbon fibre chamois, designed an award winning iconic rainsuit and much more. This year we will be introducing two helmets, developed in cooperation with the Eindhoven University of Technology, with which we have effectively reinvented helmet aerodynamics. This drive to innovate can be found throughout all our collections, from stand-out products such as our Heated Jackets and High Visibility garments, but it can also be found in smaller things, in every detail we think about, from extended cuffs, smart zips for optimal freedom of movement, to wind blocking technologies and body mapping. SUSTAINABILITY We believe the bike can make a crucial contribution against climate change and make cities healthier and more livable. We want to make it easier, smarter, and more attractive to make that sustainable choice to get on your bike everyday with products that are produced in the most sustainable way available to us at any give time. Now, more than ever, we need people to get on their bikes. Every day. Everywhere. Quality is a key factor in our vision of sustainability. Because quality works towards durability, i.e. the life span of a product. We would rather a cyclist buy one jacket which he can use for many years, than having to buy again and again because the quality of a product fails in too short a time. The longer a product lasts, the less you have to buy, the better it is for the environment. That is why at times we will make choices that don’t seem the most sustainable in the short term but will be in the long term, because the product lasts (much) longer. LOOK BETTER When you hear words like “functional”, “technical” or “highend performance” you might think we are talking about sensible but perhaps boring products. In that case, think again. Performance cylists such as the men and women of Team Jumbo-Visma cyclists are nothing if not aware of how groomed they look on a bike. That is what our rain wear is all about and why we upped our game with the launch of a brand-new line of Urban Outdoor rain wear in 2021. A collection that immediately became a favorite of the customers and press alike, celebrating it as a long-awaited break from boring cycling raincoats. “Finally, a raincoat that also looks stylish!” and “The collection looks so good, it’s a waste to only wear them when it’s raining.”

The lightweight Performance Series is designed with optimum ease of use in mind plus optimum protection against the elements during recreational use, such as long cycle rides or bikepacking trips. Team Jumbo-Visma rider Wout van Aert asked us to make the perfect bike bag for his training rides. So we did. This roll bag is a very practical bag to bring on every adventure. Whether you go bikepacking or just go for a short ride, the big main compartment can hold all kind of necessities, such as cookies, gels and a camera or phone as well. The main compartment can be closed with a water-repellent zipper. We added several loops on the front so you can easily attach a small light, for example. Two mesh pockets on each side of the bag keep small things like nicely tucked away. There is a large 3M reflective logo behind both mesh pockets for enhanced visibility. And for an even better visibility, we designed the color ‘reflective mist’. This one has a print over the whole bag that ensures high visibility during the dark days. When Team Jumbo-Visma rider Robert Gesink came to us with the idea of a new bar bag, inspired by the classic AGU handlebar bags, we started designing right away. Gesink is very enthousiastic and uses the bag for food and spare gloves, which saves room in the back pockets of his jersey. The main compartment of the bag is easiliy accessible from the top and holds a removable divider to organize everything you want to bring. Two mesh pockets are added to keep small items into place. On the front of the bag you can find a second pocket. The loops can be used to attach a light for example. We added a large 3M reflective logo for enhanced visibility. And for an even better visibility, we designed the color ‘reflective mist’. This one has a print over the whole bag that ensures high visibility during the dark days. To increase riders’ visibility we made sure to equip our bags with Hi-vis colors and Reflective prints and details. All products feature recycled materials as part of our Greensphere label. The lasting value of KLICKfix mounting systems have already proven itself. With these durable qualities and added functionalities as removable shoulder straps, carrying handles and inner compartments, these bags form the perfect partner for every resolute commuter out there. The new AGU Shelter collection is also available in several themed store modules to allow for convenient onestop-shopping. Besides that the Shelter bags are made of 100% recycled polyester, they are PVC-free. This means that the product is coated with a PU (polyurethane) coating instead of PVC. This material is a lot less harmful to both humans and the environment.

DRYLINER TECHNOLOGY

Instead of being stitched, welded seams are fused together by means of high-frequency welding of the fabric, which ensures a 100% waterproof and dust-proof seal between the different panels.

AGU DryLiner Technology combines a water repellent outer layer with a taped waterproof lining. As the water repellent outer layer is stitched, there are no compromises in the design and useful features such as straps and pouches can be integrated. The result is a win-win situation for the user; a modern and functional bag with a waterproof construction. The advantages of DryLiner Technology: Optimal protection By using a waterproof liner, even laptops and other expensive items can now be transported comfortably and safely in these bags, where they also remain dry. No concessions when it comes to design The DryLiner construction makes every design possible. This means we can integrate useful features, such as straps and storage compartments on the outside of the bike bag, without compromising on water tightness and ease of use. Practical and dry Velcro is used on the DryLiner lining, meaning it is easily detachable, allowing the outer layer to dry quickly, thus preventing moisture build-up on the inside of the bag.

WATER REPELLENT The fabric is treated with Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating. DWR This DWR coating encourages (rain) water to bead up and roll off the surface. However, in the event of lengthy exposure to water, moisture can penetrate through the seams and the fabric. In those circumstances, it would be wise to protect your possessions with, for example, a waterproof rain cover around the bag.

E-VARIO HOOK

This aluminium rail contains two hooks that slide sidewards, meaning it fits easily to any luggage rack. The hooks have an automatic adjustment device, meaning they can be attached and removed very easily, These hooks are suitable for a rack thickness of 8-16 mm. The Module Rail system allows bike bags to hang lower down, meaning there is extra space on the top of the luggage rack to carry more luggage. The use of aluminium makes the bags light and rigid, ensuring they remain hanging in the right place.

The Vario system is a user friendly and solid attachment system for luggage racks, suitable for a rack thickness of 6 to 16 mm.
