Esports has been increasingly popular in recent years. Today, the worldwide esports market was worth close to $1.08 billion. Despite a minor decline due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Esports sector is still growing, and the estimated value of the Esports market will be $1.62 billion in 2024.

IPMI Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program sees the opportunity that playing online games gives participants a medium to develop their leadership skills and came to the conclusion that games might be used as a teaching tool. It has been discovered that game roles have an impact on players' actions.

Previous studies also confirm that playing online games with Esports can develop autocratic leadership styles and improve democratic leadership styles among the younger generation (Gen Z) by constantly practicing on the Esports itself.

Hopefully, this event may increase the leadership spirit among Gen Z and might invite support from companies locally and internationally through Esports as the medium in developing Gen Z.

To make IPMI International Business School a higher education institution that is adaptable to changing times and become part of the youth trend, namely through e-sports and gaming.

Mission

IPMI ESPORTS CUP 2022 is a prestigious campus e-sport event, especially among high school students. As well as being a medium for high school students to be creative and accomplish achievements through e-sports and gaming.

Mobile Legends is a mobile game type Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) developed and published by Moonton. Both teams compete against each other to reach and destroy the enemy base while maintaining their own base to control trails, three lanes known as Top Lane, Mid Lane, and Bottom Lane, which connected each base.

This game uses the Online Multiplayer system to be able to play games and even interact with other people all over the world, using an Internet connection.

We believe the game honed strategic skills, speed of thinking and decision making, teamwork, and adaptability under pressure for the young players. Therefore, we want to host a Mobile Legends online game cup, considering that the MOBA game is in great demand in Indonesia, especially among high-school students. We see this as one of the great opportunities to reach out to them contextually.

IPMI International Business School is the first business school to provide MBA (Master of Business Administration) education in Indonesia. Known for using Harvard's case-based pedagogic approach and holistic learning experience that integrates theory and practice.

IPMI International Business School has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program or equivalent to "Sarjana Administrasi Bisnis" in Indonesian degree whose target audience for the program is graduate students from High School/equivalent both nationally and internationally.
