On the following pages you’ll find a variety of one day, half day, and full day camps - along with everything in between.

Do the members of your team like drawing & painting? Do they live for sports and games? Or are they extremely curious? The right camp is waiting for you!

The Muskies Swim Team is for 6-18 year old swimmers who have some experience with competitive swim teams and swim competition.

Join one of our novice swim teams and learn how to be a competitive swimmer. Swimmers must be able to swim for 25 yards and be able to practice for an hour. This is not a replacement for lessons.Interpark Swim Team Refund Policy:After the first week of the season, a $50 team supply fee will be charged to any participant wishing to refund out of the program. Supplies are purchased and coaches are placed for the entire 6-week program at the beginning of the season. There will be no mid-season fee reduction or proration of fees for late registrants. (RG)

EARLY CHILD HOOD Little Explorers Camp

Each week will be a different theme with corresponding crafts, songs, stories and explorations. We will go outside each day if the weather is nice for games that go along with the weekly topic. Taught by two Arlington Heights Preschool teachers, this camp will provide a summer’s worth of adventures. Themes include: A Walk in Nature (6/13), Sports Galore (6/20), Science Fun (6/27), Backyard Fun (7/6), Exploring the Ocean (7/11), Creative Art (7/18), Adventures in Space (7/25). Safety Town

This early safety educational program will introduce safety techniques to young children. Children learn the rules of home, school and outdoor safety through activities, videos, songs and guest speakers. They also learn about traffic, bicycle and pedestrian safety by driving trikes through Safety Town. AHPD provides the trikes, which accommodate children of various heights and weights. Participants should bring a helmet and water bottle to class each day.(KW)

Kaleidoscope Camp

Games, crafts, songs, outdoor play and various preschool activities make up this summer camp, which is held indoors and outdoors. Children learn to play with each other in a group situation and should wear play clothes. All children are required to be toilet trained by the start of the program. Pull-ups are not acceptable.

Children must be the required age within 2 weeks of the program starting. Please have your child bring a peanut free snack each day. (EO)

Learn the basics of ballet, enjoy outdoor play, and create fun crafts in this festive summer camp! Ballet terminology, creative movement and craft projects will encourage a young dancer’s interest in dance and keep the smiles coming all summer. Dancers may be divided by age. EXPLORER CAMPS at the Historical Museum

History Time Warp

“HER”story

We’ll celebrate women from all walks of life, from ancient to modern, by looking at the art, fashion, struggles and accomplishments that are now part of their historic story. We’ll hear inspiring stories, get creative, and get moving! (LS)

Adventures in Art Campers will explore the processes that define different types of art and connect with them by immersing themselves into the time period that they came from and trying their hand at creating masterpieces! (LS)

Fizz, Flash, Bang!

Campers will gather at the site of the Original Arlington Beverages Factory to learn about how soda was made, and explore the scientific properties behind this fizzy drink. Participate in soda science experiments, soda tastings and even produce and star in your own soda pop commercial! (LS)

Folklore and Fairytales

Using the basis of our local fairytale writer, Nathanial Banta, campers will draw inspiration from his writings and house to author their own tales after exploring the origins of many popular folklore and fairytale stories. (LS)

Hands on History

Campers will get to experience different jobs that they might have had if they lived in a different time, like blacksmithing, teaching, and farming, and have fun learning new skills with each new “apprenticeship.” (LS)

History Mysteries

Campers join the case of the “Anonymous Collector” who has donated a collection of seemingly unrelated artifacts to the Museum without a single trace of who he is. Using clues hidden within the objects themselves campers learn the skills to unravel the mystery before it’s too late! (LS)

History of Magic

The Museum lifts the ban on underage magic to allow campers to get sorted into houses, prepare their wands, and get ready for classes in an assortment of magic courses. Earn (or lose) points for the House Cup while learning about the fictional and real worlds of magic. (LS)

Get ready to hop through the decadesone groove, retro, vintage, old-school decade at a time. We’ll travel through the later half of the 20th century exploring the music, food, fashion and culture that made the 1950’s-90’s iconic. (LS)

Hometown History

Campers will travel into Arlington Height’s past to discover how this village grew, while exploring more about it’s present through visits to different significant sites around town. (LS)

Inventing Necessities

Filled with fun and sprinkled with random facts, we will expose our campers to all aspects of STEAM and encourage them to design their own ground breaking inventions. (LS)

Pioneer Adventure

Spend a week in the 19th century and test your skills at a variety of pioneer activities, from splitting and gathering firewood, to butter and candle making.

Young Pioneers will have a chance to work hard and have fun, just like real pioneer children! (LS)

Secrets of the Museum

Winter Holidays in July

Campers will learn about how a museum works through collecting, exhibiting and sharing its knowledge.

Become an Arlington Heights history expert and try your had at becoming a curator of exhibits... and maybe even explore some places typically off limits to the public. (LS)

Join us for a week of celebrations to mark the halfway point to December-- we’ll have holiday fun while exploring the past and present traditions of the many winter holidays. (LS)

World Explorers

The Great Outdoors

Campers will spend the week outside getting their hands dirty learning to care for the plants and trees around us through storytelling, trail making, animal, insect and plant identification and more. Who knows what we will find crawling through the soil to help us in our activities! (LS)

Explore modern and historic cultures outside of the United States that have had an influence our community with experiences including traditional games, crafts, language and food of each country that we “visit.” (LS)

SPORTS CAMPS Aces Soccer Camp

Arlington Aces Soccer Coaches will create a safe, fun-filled learning environment while developing and enhancing the soccer skills of all campers. Campers are placed into groups based on their skill level and age. In this challenging environment, youngsters are encouraged to have fun, make new friends, and improve their soccer playing ability. ACES SOCCER ADVANCED CAMPS Footwork and Dribbling

Dynamic dribblers are needed all over the soccer field and the Arlington Aces coaching staff is here to help you hone your skills. Enhance your dribbling moves and offense skills. Goal Keeping

Goalkeepers will learn the finer points of one of the hardest positions in sports. The act of saving goals requires a great deal of technical and psychological skill that will be taught in these sessions. Goalkeepers will learn the technical and tactical elements of the position. (KW)

Goal Scoring

The Arlington Aces coaches on the field to hone their goal scoring skills. Goals scorers will learn the finer points of scoring goals. Intro to Racing with Rori

Experienced sailors only! Must have instructor approval to register. Designed as a foundation course for beginner racers, this four day intro to racing and rules is a broad based sailing course that covers race boat handling as well as basic strategy and tactics. Course concludes with 3 hour regatta on Saturday. (KK)

Sailing Camp

PRE T-BALL

Each day sailors have four to five hours of sailing, including free sail time to practice their skills. On land, the sailors have two hours of land instruction, including terms and safety. Other activities include games, movies and crafts. Campers are grouped according to ability. A list of items needed will be sent prior to camp. Campers must be able to float comfortably in lake water with PFD (Personal Flotation Device). There will be swim test on first day, be prepared to get wet. (KK)

Pre T-Ball Class

Our introductory level T-Ball classes are designed to help younger players develop fundamental baseball and softball skills with fun, small-group games. Class meets for six sessions (no class on July 2nd) and includes scrimmage games. (CB)

Players from preschool through 1st grade will learn the fundamental skills of baseball & softball in these fun, skills-focused leagues! In the first two to three weeks of the season, coaches teach batting, catching, throwing, and fielding. For the remainder of the season, players in each class are split into two teams and play scrimmages while coaches continue to teach and reinforce skills. All classes are held outdoors, and players play at their registered time slot and location for the entire season. Rain out dates will be made up the first week of August. (CB)
