Tips for Delivering Lecture Bashes THE BASICS OF GIVING A SPEECH A. Know your Objective – “There is no point in making a speech unless it accomplishes something.” B. Structure the Message for the Ear – [In a few minutes], “the message must get across now or never.” C. Tailor Remarks to the Audience – Every speech is aimed at a specific audience. D. Give Specifics – Do not give vague statements. E. Keep it Timely and Short – “Interesting...include up-to-date facts and information.” F. Gestures and Eye Contact – “gestures, posture and eye contact can make or break a speech.” Taken from Wilcox, Dennis L. And Bryan H. Reber. 2013. Public Relations Writing and Media Techniques. 7th ed. New Jersey, U.S.: Pearson Education. (page 398-403) A Basic Example of Giving Speech in bashing lectures
