WHO?

Incoming Social Internships Programme The Global Community Development Programme is an opportunity for young people to develop entrepreneurial and responsible leadership qualities and skills. A young volunteer travels across the world to go through a cultural learning experience while working for projects and NGO’s that aim to create positive impact in society based on specific issues (ex. education, sustainability, community development etc.)

WHY?

Social problem definition: According to the last EU reports after the economic crisis started in 2009 many NGOs closed because they weren’t able to be financially sustainable without funding from the government or other sources. Another issue that they are facing is that most of the NGOs these days are not aware of how they can use technology in their own benefit or how to manage their activities in a way that will allow them to actually create products that will help them become sustainable. All these factors led to general mistrust and understanding on nongovernmental institutions and volunteering and to Greece having the lowest level of volunteering in EU.

HOW?

Our mission The aim of the project is to provide international volunteers ,with volunteering background, that will work for 6 weeks in Greek nongovernmental organizations, in order to offer them new perspective upon their activities and also to work together with them in developing projects and initiatives that will help the organizations achieve financial sustainability and gain knowledge upon organizational development and management that will help them run future initiatives and activities.
