EVENT REPORT BALAKALAKAAR 2019


PRESIDENT’S NOTE AIESEC is the world’s largest youth run organization present in over 120 countries with more than 86,000 active members. With the vision of “Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential”, we strive to develop responsible and and entrepreneurial global leaders by delivering a practical experience to empower the youth and collectively bring about a positive change in the society.

Balakalakaar is an annual social event is aligned to the cause by building an environment that helps improve the quality of life that is faced by the underprivileged children in that region. True to the motto of the organization, the event significantly helps in achieving “Peace and Fulfilment of Humankind’s Potential ”. It is in partnership with the clients that we conduct our annual Balakalakaar event as part of social initiative by AIESEC in India to draw the attention of stakeholders, general public towards the issues and challenges faced by these NGO’s. Every AIESECer in the LC has a special place in their hearts for Balakalakaar due to the immense personal satisfaction that comes from witnessing the happiness on the faces of children involved in the event. We are here to create valuable and memorable experience to all our stakeholders in the coming years. It is my great pleasure to invite you to join hands with us to give back to society. ABOUT AIESEC Founded in 1948, AIESEC is the world's largest youth run organization that spans over 126 countries and territories with over 100,000 active members. It is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), affiliated with the UN, member of International Coordination Meeting of Youth Organizations (ICMYO), and is recognized by UNESCO. AIESEC provides young people the opportunity to participate in experiences that are positively life-changing for them and have a positive impact on the society around them. Since our inception we have engaged and developed over a million young people who have been through an AIESEC experience.


AIESEC IN IIT KHARAGPUR AIESEC in IIT Kharagpur took shape in 2008 and became the 18th local chapter of AIESEC in India on 2010. It was started by a small bunch of students who envisioned to bring about a revolution that instills a global mindset and develops leadership through practical learning in IIT Kharagpur. Currently, our entity aims to be the most credible, diverse and growth oriented of them all.

Our motto : “Every Experience counts� We envision growth and happiness, and have been involved in socially motivating projects in different areas in and around Kharagpur.


BALAKALAKAAR is an initiative taken by the local office of AIESEC in IIT Kharagpur. This event is aligned to the cause by building an environment that helps to improve the quality of life that is faced by the underprivileged children. It is the creation of an opportunity to help them, discover & develop their potential through creative exercises such as ART, Dance, Drama, Music, Crafts, etc. We at AIESEC believes that every child is born with some talent which has to be given enough opportunities to be discovered. By involving of the top Corporate Houses in the city & the NGO partners, we will create a platform where walk of talent in these children & smiles on their face will shine at their best.


HISTORY OF BALAKALAKAAR 29th July 2011 at Tata Steel Sports Complex, Jamshedpur Supported by Tata Steel 500 students, 14 schools,

6th April 2014 at Bidisha, Kharagpur Suported by IDBI Bank 150 students, 3 schools and 3 NGOs

15th March 2015 at Tata Community Centre, Jamshedpur Suported by State Bank of India 500 students

11 NGOs and 5 foreign nationals

27th August 2016 at Jagriti Vidya Mandir, Kharagpur Supported by Yes Bank and Syndicate Bank in association with Gopali Youth Welfare Society 250 students and 6 foreign nationals

12th November 2017 at Gurabanda, Jharkhand in association with Sparsh 200 students and 2 foreign nationals

31st March 2018 at IIT Kharagpur in association with Disha Seema Centre 310 students and 4 foreign nationals
