Hey AIESEC!! Here is Christopher, VP iGV of AIESEC in AHU in Mainland of China. When you open the first page of the booklet, I’m going to take you start a journey with our project.On behalf of the Incoming Global Volunteer Function in AIESEC in AHU in Mainland of China, I would love to show all of you our warmest welcome.
Through this booklet, you will see what will happen, what will change and what will you experience. We all know that changing the world only by ourselves is difficult, changing the world only use 6 weeks is also not easy. But if we keep trying to do something, keep paying our attention to the global issues, someday something might be different. I ’ m glad to welcome you all to join us. Let’s lead the change, and make it real.

Hey! Guy! I am Zoe, the Team Leader iGV of AIESEC in AHU in Mainland of China, also, I am the OCP (Organizing Committee President) of the project Dare To Dream 8.0@AHU. I am so glad that you are interested in this project and I can’t wait to introduce it to you. Nowadays, we all know that children are the future of this world, but most of children do not have more chances to get in touch with foreigners and they don’t know much about other countries. That’s why we design this project. I am strongly hoping that we can concentrate on this project with passion and love and achieve the goal together, making an increasing number of children broaden their horizon, arousing their interest, and making their summer vocation colorful! Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province, is located
between Yangtze River and the Huaihe River, and beside the Chaohu Lake. It is a mid-China city nearest to the coastal cities in eastern China. The summer in Hefei is hot. The highest temperature will be about 38 ℃,the average temperature is between 20℃—38℃. Since Hefei is a city which has more than 2,000 years history, there are many places of interest for you to visit. Now, let us introduce them to you.
Dare To Dream is a local project of AIESEC AHU in Mainland of China. In this project, we will help those who never get in touch with foreigners and know little about the whole world. What we gonna do is to build a platform for our children to join into the real world and be aware of their own interest and broaden their horizon through our trainees. In addition, we all hope that trainees will gain lots of special experiences as well as impressive memories, so we will hold Global Village. In Global Village, you will absolutely enjoy communicating with people around the world, sharing your culture and knowing more things about China. The project will last 6 weeks, at the same time, we may travel around Anhui province if our time is available.

Our trainees will be divided into two groups, go to different communities a week in the same time And the first week is orientation week, trainees should arrive in China on June 20th . Our trainees will work from Monday to Friday, then we will take you to Explore China and Explore Cities on weekends. Besides, we will have two days Global Village for you before you leave.
[Getting training] Before EPs teach courses in communities, the foreign teacher from our TN Coues will give our trainees a short professional training to make trainees manage their courses better and know how to solve different problems in the class.
[Teaching courses]Every two EPs will be in charge of a course, and then EPs will teach different courses, including Music, Arts, Culture and other courses relevant to environmental protection, self-protection and so on. Aiming to make children know more different cultures and set their own dreams, trainees can also prepare some special courses based on their own situation and the requirement from community.
[Amazing race] This is a series of games we prepare for children. Our trainees will join in these activities and play with our children.
[Living Library] Trainees will take part in the "Living Library" to share the stories or experiences they have or share some details about their life, their cultures in their home country.
[Global Village] This part will be held by trainees. All the trainees will have their own time to show the culture of their countries. They can use different ways to show, such as posters, traditional food, traditional music and dance, traditional arts and crafts and so on. We aim to create a harmonious atmosphere to let the visitors feel the world like a global village and promote the cultural understanding.
[Local Volunteer Program] In order to have a better communication with Chinese people, all trainees will have one or two local volunteers to be accompanied to enjoy the whole project. No matter what difficulties they face to, they can ask local volunteer for help at any time.
[Explore China] Trainees will have 2 days' off after 5 days' working day. During those days, OCs and local volunteers or homestays will take trainees travel around some scenic spots around Hefei so that they can feel the Chinese culture better.
1. [About Food] During workdays, Your homestay will prepare two meals for you if you need. During rest days, maybe sometimes you need to pay it by yourself. And sometimes you will eat out with our OC team, local volunteers and other trainees, then you need to pay for yourself
2. [About Accommodation] We will provide host family for you and it is free.
3. [About Transportation] Transportation expenses have to be paid by yourself but it is very cheap (about 1 USD per day). We will pick you up at Hefei train station or Hefei airport.
4. Prepare a short-presentation and a presentation (usually multimedia presentation, including pictures and videos) about your culture.
5. Learn some basic knowledge about China including food, culture and so on.
6. Prepare a few materials for Global Village. Such as your national flag, costumes postcards, movies, books, music coins, and whatever related to you country or your own experiences.
7. Master some knowledge (daily dialogues in English, songs, dance, etc.) about children education and think of some ideas about courses and the games.
8. Apply for a MasterCard. It will be convenient for you to use it in bank during your volunteering time.
9. Bring suitable clothes. The temperature of Hefei in summer is 20℃ to 38℃.Please bring the most suitable clothes based on your own physical condition.
