Laveraging on the Market we have to cause Impact By Onome Ahorituwere, AIESEC NEWS
INFO SESSION HELD AT ZANZIBAR INSTITUTE OF FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION On the 31st of January 2016, I had the opportunity to attend an informative session for several students from different institutions in Zanzibar. The event was graced by 2 externals Dr. Estella Hassan (ZIFA extension matron) and ZANTEL Company. The event was attended by 45 students from several institution most of which came from ZIFA being the host. Dr Estella promised the delegation that she’ll see to it that AIESEC grows in ZIFA considering she got to be made aware of what the organization is all about. However, ZANTEL representative gave a wonderful remark as regards AIESEC and informed the delegates that ZANTEL are so much interested in reaching out to the youths in Zanzibar and as such, ZIFA will always be the first to know about what opportunities are available for students.

The event went well and we are expecting to have a minimum of 15 realizations from the outcome of the info-session. More of which will come from students from ZIFA. However, with their level of progress (getting potential members, having a matron who can speak on their behalf with the university administration, ZANTEL & Fastjet involvement), I think ZIFA Expansions will grow to becoming a standing Local Committee in the near future. According to the ZANTEL representative who graced the event, he made mention he’ll be responsible for the overall operations of ZANTEL in Zanzibar and he’ll be more than ready to work with AIESEC provided we provide a platform to get across to young people in Zanzibar.

AIESEC in the University of Dar es Salaam for the purpose of spreading awareness of the numerous opportunities available within the organization had an informative session within the premises of Water Development and Management Institute, Dar es Salaam
Visiting the College of Business Education Dodoma
On the 31st of January 2016, AIESEC in Tanzania received an invitation from CBE Dodoma to attend a special event hosted by the student government for the purpose of introducing AIESEC to the students and to also make awareness of her programs so eventually operations begin and then we have AIESEC in CBE Dodoma later in the future. I got the opportunity to represent AIESEC in Tanzania and travelled to Dodoma on the 5th February to give a presentation about AIESEC. However, after the event that was graced by over 50 young students of CBE, further discussions were made on how to begin operations in order to attain membership with AIESEC in Tanzania. “The idea of AIESEC coming to give a talk about its works, visions and goals came about when I had the opportunity of meeting other university leaders who were already members of the remarkable organization. I personally have been so much impressed with the works of AIESEC and it pushed me in striving to ensure that AIESEC begins operations full time in my college CBE Dodoma. Should this eventually happen, we definitely will encourage our neighboring institutions to get involved with AIESEC through us and also they could possibly become a chapter of their own. We are very much grateful to AIESEC in Tanzania and we can assure you that the idea was well received by CBE members and we have promised to play our role with immediate effect in the course to establish an AIESEC in CBE Dodoma”.

INCOMING GLOBAL COMMUNTY PROGRAM
AIESEC in Tanzania on the verge of becoming a pilot organization for the African-German Youth Initiative (AGYI) By Derrick Stalker, AIESEC NEWS The african-german youth initiative (agyi) is a multi-lateral initiative of the german government and the african union commission aimed at enhancing youth exchange and mobility between african countries and germany in the context of education for sustainable development. The intention is to contribute to the development of essential competencies and skills in young people from african countries and from germany in this field. The agyi will contribute on a global level to building on and strengthening global partnerships for a sustainable development (as expressed in the sdg 2030 agenda, goal 17). On the african side the agyi will contribute to furthering the visions and objectives of african union’s agenda 2063 of the african charter (art. 10/11), The african youth decade 2009-2018, plan of action and of regional and national youth policies in african countries for youth empowerment and development. On the german side, the agyi is a key element of the new africa policy of the german federal ministry for economic cooperation and development (bmz). The agyi supports strategies for strengthening civil society participation and volunteerism. As an organization present in one of the three pilot countries, aiesec in tanzania expressed interest in undertaking this task to participate in the agyi as implementing partners. As part of the selection process and appraisal, the initiating partners visited us in our office for further discussions and communications, and its our hope to emerge as the selected organization from tanzania.

Key Highlights
Global Village 2016 Event
The Global Village is a landmark for coming together of diverse cultures, different people from various countries to create a “potpourri of multiple cultures” at its finest edge. It embodies the high spirit celebration of diversity through myriad cultures, umpteen number of internationals coupled with international music, art and dance and stage performances, international exhibits, country presentations to increase the knowledge of every individual attending these event as well as providing an interactive platform to all. The purpose is to promote multi-cultural awareness to bridge the gap between cultures. The Global Village would show case each country represented by our international interns. It is a networking and colorful experience which aims at promoting internationalism sensitivity in youth.
A touch of love was added to this years’ Global Village as it was held on the 14th of February – valentines’ Day and hence kicked off with some activities to express love. Global village 2016 saw about 20 nationalities participate and ‘Karate’ amongst other activities were performed.

AIESEC in SAUT create 5 Internship Opportunities with their University for Young Africans By Dickson Luhikula, AIESEC NEWS
Welcome to this section. As you read, I am sure you will be able to grasp what it is that we are actually doing. It is so moving to see the kind of belief and passion companies we work with have for us to deliver such leadership experiences. This was formerly known Global Internship Program. In summary, the Global Talent Program enables companies to access international talent/interns across the AIESEC network while it
enables these young individuals to develop professionally. This also help the companies with sustainable international human resources as well as the CSR plan. AIESEC believes in youth leadership development - the leadership elements we strive to instill in youths through the program are being Self-aware, Solution-oriented, Empowering Others andWorld Citizen. The AIESEC team here is responsible to create internship
opportunities through companies that agree to partner and work with us. Many of the interns this year are engaged in sales & marketing, finance, accounting, HR, administration among other fields. And also work closely with the company to ensure the interns actually are developing and meeting their expectations to see them grow in their career.

6 Teaching Internship Opportunities created by AIESEC in Mzumbe AIESEC in Mzumbe for the first time have been able to create 6 opportunities for teaching under fields of commerce, science, literature, ICT. This was not done in a day but rather series of activities. Happiness George, the Local Chapter Vice President – Global Internship Program had the following to say: “At the AIESEC National Planning Conference , I set a goal of creating 5 internship opportunities. The first quarter came by, but nothing was achieved. We went through several talks to get ideas on how best to come up with the opportunities but all these were on paper. One morning after several analysis, I had to ensure that my Team leader tracked my activities so that I meet our goals – which he did always. I started to master making my to-do-list which guided me on how to work on my scheduled tasks and eventually started doing the sales meetings hence my research paid off after meeting up with Morogoro International School which actually picked interest in taking interns from AIESEC.
From this whole period of six months, I got learn to be consistent in what we plan and above all have some one always reminding me of what I promised to do as per the plan so that I get motivated and inspired. Thanks to such support that now, we managed to create 6 Teaching Internship Opportunities for young people across English native speaking countries to come and have their professional development in Tanzania.”

AIESEC in Kilimanjaro host their 1st Intern 2016 started strong and indeed this has been witnessed from the milestone that AIESEC in Kilimanjaro have reached. Last year in June, they manage to sign with two tour firms in Moshi which left them very motivated to do more. The 3rd week of February saw the LC be able to pick up their first intern for the Global Internship Program. This makes AIESEC in Kilimanjaro the third LC to host interns under this program.
Interns Corner Empowerment during the Internship Till to date, for the year 2015-2016, we have received 22 interns and counting. One of the Leadership qualities we aim for our interns to develop along the internship is “EMPOWERING OTHERS”. This quality describes the ability of an individual to communicate ideas clearly, engage in meaningful conversation with others, and co-create space of collaboration that empower people to take action. Today we share a few highlights from our past survey with the interns currently in the country to know how they feel empowered and how they have managed to empower others. _________________________________

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Preparations Towards Our Upcoming Events By Rhoda Kambenga, AIESEC NEWS It has been great starting working with OCs for the upcoming events. This have really challenged me to be able to work with people of different backgrounds, attitudes and mindsets. Making all of them to have that same perspective and ownership of their roles hasn’t been easy. Recently I have learn to be patience when necessary, to trust and my emotional interagency has been challenged so many times. I’m looking forward to many stories of growth, self awareness,self esteem and much more from my amazing OC teams. Every day they are ready to face their fears I’m sure we will get inspired from their experiences. One of my highs for this month was going for a marketing call and our partners are giving good feedbacks of what we do. This encouraged me
to keep delivering more because we add value to our partners. A satisfied customer is always a happy customer and I will keep doing my best working on the feedbacks to add more value for both sides. Thanks to CRDB and Standard Chartered for your encouragement and feedbacks. It always fills good to go an extra mile and creating milestones. I’m happy to share with you that soon we are going to add a new national partner from a new sector which we have never worked with and I’m sure we will attract others of same to partner with us. For now I cant tell the name till next month when they officially become nations partners. I’m an Archer and always facing my fears, I’m proud of my MC team they are moulding me to be a true Archer.

Looking into the Impact of Achievers to members By Arnold Katho, AIESEC NEWS Conferences are believed to be one among the most effective tools to transfer and impact knowledgein people. That to be said, we believe that it is a good way to bring our members together in one place and deliver impactful knowledge to them. In March we had a very impactful Achievers conference which was attended by our members and luckily international delegated from Kenya. The conference created a lot of stories among delegates from the sessions delivered by the amazing facilitators leaving delegates with a debt to fulfill promises and own the experience they got from the conference. My turn to give back to fellow Youths It is three years now since I joinrd AIESEC, I have learnt a lot of things since then. It has also helped me to live in a diverse environment learning other peoples cultures and ways of living and mostly travel to different countries as a process of becoming a Global Citizen. All this has opened my eyes and turned me to a new and a different person compared to a previous me. Now I am able to justify to a young person how important this organization is to their personal development. I give my great thanks to AIESEC for changing my life and for that, it is my turn to to give back what I have earned to my fellow Tanzanian youths.
