In today’s context, ‘peace’ does not exclusively mean avoiding war. Peace can symbolize a world that does not have conficts that arise from cultural, religious or other aspects of differences in humanity. Next to that, peace can symbolize being in harmony with yourself. AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace, while respecting and understanding the views of others. Through “Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential, AIESEC strives for a world where people can be the best version of themselves.

choosing who they will be today.
AIESEC’s unique leadership development model seeks to prepare youth to take a stand on what they care about and become capable to make a difference through their everyday actions. That is why our answer is to develop the characteristics below according to the largest world issues and trends. These characterics are fundamentals, which enable the life-long leadership journey of young people.
AIESEC provides an opportunity for young people to work or volunteer abroad in non-familiar environments. This allows them to step outside their comfort zone and expand their world view, while contributing to the community where they are working. Living such experiences enables people to build a better understanding on how to communicate and capitalize on diversity in our increasingly connected world. Secondly, AIESEC wants to develop leadership and cross-cultural understanding in their members. AIESEC members work in teams to create and manage these cross-cultural exchange experiences. This provides an opportunity for our members to live powerful team experiences and develop their own leadership potential. AIESEC has a set of shared behaviours- the AIESEC values- that shape our organizational culture. These values bring our mission and vision to life by guiding our everyday actions and decisions. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations. They cover a broad range of social and economic development issues, as you can see below. The SDGs are also known as “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” or Agenda 2030 in short. The goals were developed to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which ended in 2015. Unlike the MDGs, the SDG framework does not distinguish between “developed” and “developing” nations. Instead, the goals apply to all countries. AIESEC is one of the United Nations partners to reach these 17 goals. We promote and encourage participation in the implementation of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We do not only do this by creating awareness, but also by linking them to all of our Global Volunteer projects. Every young person choosing to go on a volunteering experience with AIESEC, also chooses to contribute to one of these SDG’s.
SDG PROJECTS Since the review of the Global Volunteer product, there have been some change in the GV projects. There are now only 11 different kind of projects, still linked to the SDG's, and they all have multiple locations. This is an overview of the projects:
Heartbeat | SDG 3 Prevention and awareness about NCD and the importance of mental health.
Global Classroom | SDG 4 Foster educational opportunities on literacy, math, science and languages.
Youth 4 impact | SDG 4 Generate awareness and foster engagement towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
Raise your voice | SDG 5 Generate awareness about gender related issues and build initiatives to work on solutions.
Skill up! | SDG 8 Provide youth with soft and hard skill trainings needed to qualify for a decent job.
On the map | SDG 8 Enhance the capacity of local communities to build and promote tourism activities.
Equify | SDG 10 Foster educational spaces on the basics of inequality and promote local initiatives to tackle inequality.
Green leaders | SDG 13 Educate communities about climate change and build action plans.
Aquatica | SDG 14 Provide communities with concrete activities to improve sustainability of the coast and protect marine wildlife.
Rooted | SDG 15 Build up communities' capacity to respond and act upon degradation of natural habitat.
Scale up! | SDG 17 Build up the capacity of local NGO and non-profits to contribute to social impact in their communities.
16 EXCHANGE STANDARDS
To make sure our customers have a good experience we have 16 standards to ensure quality experiences. By making sure every standard is delivered, we also want to guarantee that our exchange participants develop leadership skills during their exchange. We also find it important to get feedback from our exchange participants. Therefore, they will be able to fll in a survey after their experience. In this survey, they can inform us whether all the standards were delivered or not. When the standards are delivered during an exchange experience and the exchange participants fills in the survey positively, then this exchange experience will be called a "completed experience". This way, AIESEC tries to measure the amount of completed experiences to see how the organization can improve standards delivery.
EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
Volunteering experience abroad 6-12 weeks Contribute to the SDGs Impact in a project & selfdevelopment
A volunteering experience abroad, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. This product is supposed to let you have an impact on a local level. Through the project activities, you do develop yourself and put your learnings into practice. All while meeting new people from different cultures.
Hanne Van Campenhout Exchange participant - Venezuela
I recommend everyone to do a project with AIESEC. I learnt a lot about another culture as well as about myself. I gained more selfconfidence and exceeded my limits with the support of my new-made friends. AIESEC in UAntwerp did an amazing job and made sure I left comfortably for the project. From the first moment I had to give the English lessons on my own without anyone who would join me, I was completely free to do what I wanted to teach. In the beginning, I was stressed about this but I managed and in the end, I felt super comfortable teaching on my own.
Professional internship abroad 6-78 weeks Impact in a start-up or big company Cross-cultural environment
An internship abroad impacting a start-up. Helping to develop the start-up by putting your learnings into practical experiences. Or a first working

After having worked 4 years in AIESEC as a member I decided to end my AIESEC experience by going on a Global Talent experience with AIESEC. I found the perfect project for me in Romania: a business development project in a marketing company. Throughout the project I managed to discover a beautiful country with hospitable people. This experience allowed me to learn more about myself and what I like to do, to learn more about Romania as a country and the cultural difference in and outside of work, and it taught me how to be more adaptable and solution oriented. Thank you AIESEC in UAntwerp and AIESEC in Cluj-Napoca for supporting me throughout the whole journey and making this possible for me.

My AIESEC experience started in June when I decided to look for an internship abroad and I ended up on the AIESEC website. Quickly after that, I got the help from one of the volunteers to find the perfect opportunity for me. I applied to many interesting internships and I got accepted to teach English in a coastal

The
AIESEC
volunteers helped me prepare everything for this big opportunity as I had never travelled outside Europe before. With their tips and tricks, I arrived safe and sound at my host family’s house in Ecuador. I’m now only three weeks here but I already know that this is an unforgettable experience!

My AIESEC journey started during an online info session where Ruud tried his best to convince people to join this cause. I was easily convinced and have been happy to work with students who share the same values and want to impact the world. As a Member and Team Leader, I've learnt many things. As a person who avoids confrontation at all costs, this experience has taught me how to be confident in my beliefs and confront others in a professional way. I hope to continue being the helping hand for people during their international experience. Hetvi Dhamelia- Team Leader

INCOMING EXCHANGE My entire AIESEC experience has been perfect so far! I have met amazing and like-minded people, had fun experiences, and always felt home in this organization. Immediately after joining, I learned a lot of new, useful skills; being professional, time management, public speaking skills and much more. The international environment makes AIESEC so unique and educational. My confidence has also increased tremendously due to the constant feedback and recognition from others. After becoming a Vice President, I can proudly say I have never regretted joining this amazingly unique organization. Anne Reunis - Team Leader
What did AIESEC mean to me? Well, I gained a sort of family, a group of close friends and a sense of leadership! I felt more empowered by my own decisions and I noticed that taking this opportunity has helped me a lot with time management and self confidence. It brings along a sense of accomplishment with each step and it has given me the confidence to take my student career into my own hands. I did struggle but so does everyone at the start so it is great to know that everyone is willing to reach out and help you. And now I've taken up the task of guiding others as Team Leader. This mainly due to the Team Leader and Vice President I had in my first semester, they convinced me to take the next step! And from my experience I can say that it looks great on your resume, it's interesting and joining AIESEC offers you the possibility to develop your skills and career.

INCOMING EXCHANGE Ever since the foundation of our company Go4Logistics, we have partnered with AIESEC to find great additions to our team. Over the past 11 years, we have established several successful partnerships with AIESEC to attract trainees. Thanks to their global network, AIESEC helps us find IT talents from all over the world. Time and time again this is an enrichment for our team, both technically and multiculturally. We are currently also looking for 2 new trainees with AIESEC for 2022!
Go4Logistics - Partner
My experience as a trainee in Belgium was a journey full of challenges, learnings, laughter, joy, and most of all: self-awareness. I understood even more about my boundaries, my desires, and how I express myself in different environments. AIESEC in Antwerp was a huge support during this process, Pakita's team was always helpful and friendly, and I felt very lucky to have them by my side during this year. Thank you for making my experience so memorable!

OUTGOING EXCHANGE When

our
Executive Board term back in November 2020, we all firmly believed that while COVID-19 would still be present, it would be far more manageable than it had been in the previous term. I remember thinking that I would be able to run Outgoing Exchange in a fairly normal way and that reaching our goal of 30 approvals would be within grasp. Reality proved us wrong.
Belgium was in a lockdown, and a very strict one with travel restrictions and all. This of course limited the operations of Outgoing Exchange. I was worried that this would also heavily affect the members in my track, as we saw in the previous term that it was hard to keep members engaged during a pandemic when everything was online. However, through the efforts of the

OUTGOING EXCHANGE Looking back on my OGX experience, I feel grateful for everything. I learned a lot, have grown so much during that year and definitely went out of my comfort zone. Choosing OGX and AIESEC was the best choice I made. I was always an introvert and never thought I would get this far. I’ve grown so much because of OGX, AIESEC and the support I received. I developed myself personally and professionally. Sending people abroad and guiding them through their journey was truly an amazing experience because I could see their happiness and nothing is more beautiful than achieving that. Lily Luyckx - Member
OUTGOING EXCHANGE I started in AIESEC last semester and I got put in the track of OGX. Within OGX we help people to find the perfect opportunity for them abroad. Therefore, I needed to write many emails and set up a great amount of meetings. This immediately put me out of my comfort zone. I learned time management and to make clear boundaries with the people I work with. Everything I had to do in OGX was new for me and therefore a little bit scary, but I was guided through everything which made it seem like a small step to a world of new knowledge and experiences Emilie Joris - Member
My journey in AIESEC in UAntwerp, a long story that is still going on. AIESEC gave me a lot of opportunities and as a team leader and member I developed my leadership skills and communication skills a lot. Because of the support and the trust my team leader and Vice President had in me, I decided to apply for Vice President myself. The warm welcome I got made me convinced AIESEC in UAntwerp was the place for me to grow. Cédric Schippers - Team Leader

MARKETING Amidst a pandemic, AIESEC was my source of motivation, inspiration, and social interaction. Being surrounded by people who are purpose driven and are like-minded as you, has only pushed me to pursue my dreams even more. Even though I’ve joined the interesting and enlightening journey a few months ago, AIESEC has given me already various opportunities to grow on both on a personal and professional level. So grateful to be a part of this organization and can’t wait for the future. Enchi Chuluuntsetseg - Member
When I decided to join AIESEC a few months ago, I wasn’t sure what I could expect. However, being a part of AIESEC has invited me to step out of my comfort zone and develop myself, on professional and personal level. From day one, I have been welcomed by this group of friends, who do nothing but support each other, as well as have lots of fun. I can honestly say that joining AIESEC has been a big pleasure and the nudge I needed to push my boundaries. Rachel Verburgt - Member
MARKETING The experience I had in AIESEC is incomparable. Being in the TL position for Marketing Operations, I had to face challenges that were unknown to me before. Difficult moments, challenging ones, and meaningful others I experienced as a TL in AIESEC. But what I acquired in my position throughout my mandate I owe to my beautiful and motivated team. We have put our strengths together and created one, big family for which I am extremely grateful. AIESEC is, was, and will forever remain the organization in which core characteristics, such as internationalism, friendship, determination and kindness will thrive. I am grateful for having the chance to be a member of such a constructive organization, a TL of such a connected team, and support (I hope) to my devoted VP. May you remain forever young, determined, and friendly, AIESEC! Mădălina Udrea - Team Leader
UNIVERSITY RELATIONS Our University Relations have remained strong during the past year, we even made a new partnership. This year we focused on contacting new universities and on maintaining the partnerships we already had. Our strongest partnership is with the University of Antwerp. We can be present at many university events and we can get in contact with the students through e-mail. We want to thank the University of Antwerp for always supporting our organization and helping us reach their students. Another

was
with
KdG,
University of Applied Sciences. We were supposed to be present at their Global Fair but this was cancelled due to COVID unfortunately. However, we can always share interesting opportunities for them to share with their students. Our newest partnerships is with Antwerp Management School. This partnership has been very successful already. We hosted an info booth at their campus for recruitment, we have attended their job fair and we have organized a case evening. We look forward to what AMS and AIESEC in UAntwerp will mean to each other in the future. The energy & mission of AIESEC and all its members really has made an impact in all our students. This year Antwerp Management School has been working hand by hand with the AIESEC Committee and worked together on different initiatives to open the world (of work) to all our international students that come from 48 different nationalities. Really exciting to see which part of the world and impact job will each student end up after AMS! Albert Segura Molla - Antwerp Management School

'In the short time that I have been a member of AIESEC, I have already learned so much and I have done so many nice things; self-development is highly valued at AIESEC and many fun activities are being organised on a regular basis. Thanks to AIESEC I have grown, personally and professionally, and I have learned a lot of effective skills: time management, social skills, pitching, presentation skills, team work, etc. Moreover, I think AIESEC has a beautiful vision which I support with all my heart. AIESEC strives for a world of youth leadership and ensures that young people from all over the world can gain experience in other beautiful places on earth. Selfdevelopment, getting to know new cultures and pushing out boundaries are things I value, and AIESEC gives me the opportunity to strive for what I stand for. Melissa Saman - Member
PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
1 year ago I had my interview with AIESEC. I remember being so nervous right before, but the moment I joined the call I was immediately welcomed and already felt a part of AIESEC. Following months I got to know my team and organization, which motivated me to apply for Team Leader of Partnership Development. Guess what, I got accepted! I remember not being able to wait before my team of 4 members arrived. I was so excited I even applied to become Vice President of Marketing before meeting them. After challenging elections, I got accepted again! Then my team arrived, meeting them and helping them grow motivated me so much that I don't even know what else I would want to do. After an amazing term as Team Leader, I got to planning the marketing strategies and goals while aligning with my Executive Board. I am now 3 weeks into my term as Vice President and joining AIESEC is the best decision I could have made. Amein Bakhit - Team Leader

recruitment, we could not do any physical

Aula
shouts,
flyers, info booths etc. were all no longer an option for us. Nevertheless, we exceeded our target by 131.3% (16 vs. 21 members) due to a good synergy
with
MKT
and
F&L.
For
example, we focused more on online attraction such as fb ads, sending out an online recruitment video, organizing online info moments etc.
TALENT MANAGEMENT Thirdly, we noticed that, because of the lockdown, there was a need for more connection and transparency within the LC. We were able to achieve this by ensuring that there was

implementation, that a team building (online or physical) was planned every month, that the TL's got a better understanding of team management by organizing a TL workshop and by organizing four Management board meetings. To increase transparency within the LC, we made the monthly LC meetings more accessible by having the track updates presented by the members. This way they could also improve their presentation skills.
To set our goal, we also picked up alumni
management
and
engagement. Not only because we noticed that this has fallen silent in recent years, but also because we saw how many opportunities our alumni database
has.
By

all
Alumni, we did not only try to update our database, but we also tried to organise workshops. The first one was Yorick van Alphen who came to give a
sales
workshop.
By
organizing
workshops, alumni cantussen, Alumni vlogs with updates on the activities of AIESEC in UAntwerp we hope to engage our alumni more in the LC in the future. To conclude, I would like to thank my fantastic

leaders and members for all their hard work during this difficult AIESEC semester. Despite all the restrictions the government put on us, we made the best of it. We enjoyed the times when we were able to see each other physically and laughed extra hard at all the great memories we created together last year. Fabienne Schmidt Vice President Talent Management

meant that we were never quite sure when a trainee would be able to come to Belgium. As a result, a close followup with all teams and VP’s was needed to make sure that we were well aware of the financial needs of each track. To limit the unpredictability as much as possible, I focused on regular reporting to my fellow EB members and to the entire LC.

I joined F&L in February 2021 after being an oGX member. After some time as a member F&L I already learned a lot about how the LC functions financially and what kind of legal thing you need to do in order to keep the LC running. It was also fun to work together with my VP since it was the first time working together with someone 1 on 1. I would recommend everyone to join a track like F&L because it give you a lot of insight into how AIESEC works internally. June Coopmans - Member
