MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT
This report serves as a summary of the term that started on February 1st 2022 and ended on January 31st 2023.
Last year, our team was excited to finally operate without any restrictions and strive to reach our pre-pandemic operations. However, we soon realized that the pandemic had brought some permanent changes, such as hybrid working and online events. This meant we had to adapt and upgrade our mailing, event planning, and online promotion strategies. Though starting events again after a 2-year pandemic was challenging, we worked hard to optimize them back to prepandemic standards
As Executive Board, I am proud of the innovative ways we worked and structured our LC. We focused on membership and the new generation of youth, which allowed us to create higher engagement and improvement of overall membership while also allowing us to grow through creativity and innovation We reintroduced positions as University Relations Manager and International Relations Manager which has helped us reestablish valuable relationships with key stakeholders.
Being the President of AIESEC UAntwerp has been an incredible journey filled with growth, challenges, and unforgettable experiences. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been witnessing the growth and development of our members. It's been amazing to see how our events, conferences, and leadership development programs have enabled our members to acquire new skills, build relationships, and explore diverse perspectives
Overall, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I want to express my gratitude to my team and members of AIESEC in UAntwerp. Without their hard work and dedication, our achievements would not have been possible. I am excited to see the future generation continue to strive for excellence and contribute to the growth of AIESEC in UAntwerp.

ABOUT AIESEC ABOUT AIESEC
We believe that young people hold the key to a better future and they must learn to adapt quickly to solve problems. By living cross-cultural experiences, they will develop understanding of other cultures and other people's perspectives better This is why AIESEC strives to achieve peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential.
AIESEC was founded in 1948 by students from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden Our fundamentals were shaped by the social, economic and political climate of the time after the second world war. Since then, the world has been changing faster than ever before.
In today’s context, ‘peace’ does not exclusively mean avoiding war. Peace can symbolize a world that does not have conficts that arise from cultural, religious or other aspects of differences in humanity Next to that, peace can symbolize being in harmony with yourself
AIESEC strives to build a world where people can work towards their own understanding of peace, while respecting and understanding the views of others.
Through “Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential, AIESEC strives for a world where people can be the best version of themselves.
We place our confidence in youth because they are the future and have the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit that are needed to shape the future They have the responsibility to improve tomorrow by choosing who they will be today.
AIESEC is a platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. After going through an AIESEC experience, young people are better prepared to make a positive impact in any sphere they choose.
AIESEC’s unique leadership development model seeks to prepare youth to take a stand on what they care about and become capable to make a difference through their everyday actions. That is why our answer is to develop the characteristics below according to the largest world issues and trends. These characterics are fundamentals, which enable the life-long leadership journey of young people.
AIESEC provides an opportunity for young people to work or volunteer abroad in nonfamiliar environments. This allows them to step outside their comfort zone and expand their world view, while contributing to the community where they are working. Living such experiences enables people to build a better understanding on how to communicate and capitalize on diversity in our increasingly connected world
Secondly, AIESEC wants to develop leadership and cross-cultural understanding in their members. AIESEC members work in teams to create and manage these cross-cultural exchange experiences. This provides an opportunity for our members to live powerful team experiences and develop their own leadership potential.
AIESEC has a set of shared behaviours- the AIESEC values- that shape our organizational culture. These values bring our mission and vision to life by guiding our everyday actions and decisions.
Demonstrating Integrity
We are consistent and transparent in our decisions and actions. We fulfill our commitments and conduct ourselves in a way aligned with what we envision
Acting Sustainably
We act in a sustainable way for our organization and our society. Our decisions take into account the needs of future generations
Enjoying Participation
We create a dynamic and welcoming environment through the active and enthusiastic participation of individuals We enjoy being involved in AIESEC
Activating Leadership
We lead by example and inspire leadership through actions and results. We take responsibility for developing the leadership potential of others
Living Diversity
We actively learn from different ways of life and opinions represented in our multi cultural environment We act inclusively, respecting and actively encouraging the contribution of every individual.
Striving for Excellence
We continuously improve through creativity and innovation We strive to deliver the highest quality performance in everything we do..
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations. They cover a broad range of social and economic development issues, as you can see below. The SDGs are also known as “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” or Agenda 2030 in short The goals were developed to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which ended in 2015. Unlike the MDGs, the SDG framework does not distinguish between “developed” and “developing” nations. Instead, the goals apply to all countries.
AIESEC is one of the United Nations partners to reach these 17 goals We promote and encourage participation in the implementation of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We do not only do this by creating awareness, but also by linking them to all of our Global Volunteer projects. Every young person choosing to go on a volunteering experience with AIESEC, also chooses to contribute to one of these SDG’s.
SDG PROJECTS
Since the review of the Global Volunteer product, there have been some change in the GV projects. There are now only 11 different kind of projects, still linked to the SDG's, and they all have multiple locations This is an overview of the projects:
Heartbeat | SDG 3
Prevention and awareness about NCD and the importance of mental health.
Global Classroom | SDG 4
Foster educational opportunities on literacy, math, science and languages.
Youth 4 impact | SDG 4
Generate awareness and foster engagement towards the Sustainable Development Goals
Raise your voice | SDG 5
Generate awareness about gender related issues and build initiatives to work on solutions
Skill up! | SDG 8
Provide youth with soft and hard skill trainings needed to qualify for a decent job
On the map | SDG 8
Enhance the capacity of local communities to build and promote tourism activities
Equify | SDG 10
Foster educational spaces on the basics of inequality and promote local initiatives to tackle inequality.
Green leaders | SDG 13
Educate communities about climate change and build action plans.
Aquatica | SDG 14
Provide communities with concrete activities to improve sustainability of the coast and protect marine wildlife.
Rooted | SDG 15
Build up communities' capacity to respond and act upon degradation of natural habitat.
Scale up! | SDG 17
Build up the capacity of local NGO and non-profits to contribute to social impact in their communities.
16 EXCHANGE STANDARDS
To make sure our customers have a good experience we have 16 standards to ensure quality experiences By making sure every standard is delivered, we also want to guarantee that our exchange participants develop leadership skills during their exchange
We also find it important to get feedback from our exchange participants. Therefore, they will be able to fll in a survey after their experience. In this survey, they can inform us whether all the standards were delivered or not. When the standards are delivered during an exchange experience and the exchange participants fills in the survey positively, then this exchange experience will be called a "completed experience". This way, AIESEC tries to measure the amount of completed experiences to see how the organization can improve standards delivery
EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
Exchange programs are a big part of AIESEC's mission and vision as they provide young people with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, gain practical experience in a foreign culture, and promote crosscultural understanding. These experiences are essential for building a more just and sustainable world where young people can reach their full potential and make a positive impact on the world.

Cross-cultural environment
An internship abroad impacting a start-up. Helping to develop the start-up by putting your learnings into practical experiences Or a first working experience abroad. Developing yourself, learning new things and new people. Using the skills you gained in your studies .
2022 was a year full of growth, professionally and personally I came to Antwerp with AIESEC one year ago to participate in the exchange program of Global Talent, for an intern opportunity with Nokia. Reflecting back, I see how much I evolved as a professional; I learned so many new things, developed my skills, created a strong network and became a better leader As in the personal side, I have become a stronger personality I am more confident and sure of myself and all that because I had to go outside my comfort zone and become more independent. This past year, I made new friends, created new memories and stories to tell and certainly I became a better version of myself
Thank you AIESEC!
Volunteering experience abroad

Impact in a project & selfdevelopment
A volunteering experience abroad, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. This product is supposed to let you have an impact on a local level. Through the project activities, you do develop yourself and put your learnings into practice All while meeting new people from different cultures
I recommend everyone to do a project with AIESEC. I learnt a lot about another culture as well as about myself. I gained more selfconfidence and exceeded my limits with the support of my new-made friends. AIESEC in UAntwerp did an amazing job and made sure I left comfortably for the project. From the first moment I had to give the English lessons on my own without anyone who would join me, I was completely free to do what I wanted to teach In the beginning, I was stressed about this but I managed and in the end, I felt super comfortable teaching on my own

Develop your leadership while boosting your career opportunities through an international teaching internship. Use the skills you have learned in your studies.
My AIESEC experience started in June when I decided to look for an internship abroad and I ended up on the AIESEC website Quickly after that, I got the help from one of the volunteers to find the perfect opportunity for me. I applied to many interesting internships and I got accepted to teach English in a coastal city in Ecuador. The AIESEC volunteers helped me prepare everything for this big opportunity as I had never travelled outside Europe before. With their tips and tricks, I arrived safe and sound at my host family’s house in Ecuador I’m now only three weeks here but I already know that this is an unforgettable experience!
YEAR OVERVIEW PER TRACK
INCOMING EXCHANGE
Looking back at this past year, I can say I am extremely happy that I chose to take the step to become LCVP of Incoming Global Talent (iGT). This year has been a challenge, but a true privilege overall I am glad to have met so many likeminded, but yet again such different people. Working in the EB with people with diverse backgrounds and personalities was education and enjoyable. Being able to lead a team of six in iGT was also a real learning experience. Managing not only members, but managers and team leaders was exciting Co-creation and teamwork were central in our teams. I can definitly say I have grown as a leader from this experience.
I am proud of what our team was able to achieve. Most of all I am happy with the synergy with CX, Customer Experience Our workings were efficient and effective, always communicating clearly and working through problems together. In addition, celebrating our successes together was a highlight of my term,
What I am most grateful for in this experience, was that it gave me the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone AIESEC has made me grow on so many different levels, I have gained confidence and am able to speak to large crowds without hesitation. Not to mention the enormous amount of practical skills I acquired.
As we continued with our strong account management and seeking new partners, we achieved 14 approvals. 14 people who got the amazing chance to come to Antwerp and work here. What I am most pleased with is the trainees who continue to work at the companies in Antwerp, developing more there and finding their new homes here On the other hand we have the compananies who expand and thrive with the trainees. This impact is what makes AIESEC such a unique organisation, one I am proud to be a part of.
Anne Reunis Vice President Incoming ExchangeINCOMING EXCHANGE
When I joined AIESEC as a first year university student, I never thought I could develop so quickly in such a short period of time As a member, I learned to feel confident in public speaking and that it is fine to take a step back when you feel overwhelmed I was really surprised when I heard that I could be a team leader without having any experience With the support of my VP, I had the confidence to be one. As a team leader, I learned how to manage my time and should handle conflicts in a team. What I really liked was that we were all students with different studies, backgrounds and interests, but as an LC we worked like those differences were never there. I was connected to like-minded people, which made me feel safe and supported. I am earnestly grateful for the opportunities I had because of AIESEC, such as growing with my personal and professional self development, creating a network and developing strong friendships within the organization
Ishika Jagroep - Team LeaderAIESEC is the thing you don’t think you need, but it’s the thing that changes everything for the better. This is what the previous semester taught me. I discovered new people, new ways of thinking and on top of that I also discovered myself I’m way more enthusiastic and more open to change I learned what my strengths and weaknesses are and how to improve overall. I recommend the experience because it will simply bring a new perspective.

The several months as a teamleader in iGT taught me how to lead a small team, but also helped my figure out the type of leader that I want to become. As the iGT track, it was our responsibility to form and to maintain partnerships with companies. This is something that was really out of my comfort zone, as we had to reach out to unknown, successful people to present our organization and everything that we have to offer. Yet, it was an amazing teaching experience, and I can certainly say that my time in iGT has strengthened my personal and professional qualities. Besides that, up until this moment it challenges me to keep taking leaps into the unknown, giving me time after time the opportunity to continue to develop myself into the person I want to be.

Right now, our two best programmers got employed here thanks to AIESEC. Out of the 4 AIESEC Trainees we took in, we asked 2 to stay and they are some of our best employees
The trainees AIESEC gives us are always very mature, and know to solve any problem they encounter independently. Working together with AIESEC is great because they do the search for the ideal international candidate that fits our company perfectly for us. The only thing we have to do is interview them, the rest of the recruitment is part of the service AIESEC offers.
I would like to show appreciation on behalf of Nokia for the partnership and cross-collaboration that AIESEC in Antwerp offered 2022 and in previous years. This partnership has allowed us to bring outstanding talent to the organization and build a great community of young people with energy and ideas to improve the company's culture and processes Thank you all for the care with each one of the experiences provided. We hope to keep leveraging this cooperation in further years

Time flies when you are having fun. It is a cliche but it is so true In the past year, I have had the time of my life. It was a true challenge and an honor to have been a board member of AIESEC in UAntwerp.
Customer Experience was a new track this year in our entity. With this new department we could focus on giving AIESEC trainees in Antwerp the best possible experience from start to finish, instead of working on this as a side project for the PD/IGT (sales) teams.
In the past year, I have had the opportunity to meet many new people from a lot of different cultures and backgrounds. It has been an incredible honor to be a part of the journey of so many different people and for them to allow me to be a small part in that.
The result of a year’s work, which I couldn’t have done without my incredible team, is an amazing community of trainees in Antwerp. A community that feels welcoming, allows friendship to blossom and motivates each other to work together towards their dreams. Being part of shaping this community has been a very fulfilling experience.
I am proud of what the EB has been able to achieve together with all the members. The LC has grown to be a true community where members can find support and fun, whichever one they have a need for at that specific moment.
Besides all this, I am very proud of the synergy with iGT. The ICX corner was truly powerful this year due to effective and efficient teamwork Celebrations of our successes together were highlights of this past term.

My internship at Nokia in Belgium marks the 4th opportunity I get with AIESEC, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Working in an international and challenging environment, exploring new cities, and meeting wonderful people from all around the world, what else can you ask for?!
Demi and all the other AIESEC in Antwerp members are making sure we’re having the best experience possible, so a huge appreciation to them!
During this year in Antwerp I gained a lot of experience from the real world. Now I feel more confident when it comes to work related stuff and therefore my perspectives towards the future are more diverse and promising. In addition, all the friends I made from different nationalities showed me their point of view and they somehow broadened my knowledge as well.
The local AIESEC committee was eagerly supporting me even before my arrival to Belgium making all my settlement smoother. Thanks for turning a traineeship into an adventure full of memories!

I am very happy to be working in a team that makes me feel like a valuable resource within Nokia, as well as meeting such diverse people among all the other trainnes who also do life in the company. I have been able to travel, meet, experience and challenge myself every day since I arrived. It was worth waiting for where to be here
Zoraida Sanchez - Trainee at NokiaOUTGOING EXCHANGE
When the EB term of 2022 started, I was still a TL and not yet part of the EB. After approximately a month and a half, I heard that the place of VP OGX had become open for someone to fill in. I was surprised by this news and at first, had no intention of filling this position During the following two weeks, my so certain ‘no’ started changing into a maybe to end into a yes. I felt that I would regret it if I didn't take the opportunity and today after my term as part of the EB, I can sincerely say that I do not regret that decision at all. I am so grateful for everyone who helped me take that decision
During the first weeks of my new position, I received so much new information that I lost all overview. Step by step I tried to bring structure into the chaos.
I learned how to deal with unknown situations, manage crises, lead a team, and guide my team leader I did things I never thought I would do at this age. Things like organising events, being part of a job fair, having my own team and so much more.
I realised that I was part of a strong group with people who could work professionaly in meetings to discuss how to handle certain situations and who at the end of the day were best friends who loved each other very much. Our term was a year of ups and downs and I am so very proud to say to we overcame every down and celebrated every up.
We as an EB achieved so many things together like building a strong and close LC that supports each other and relies on one another.
AIESEC as an organisation allows you to fail and stand up again, That is the impact that AIESEC has on its people. It challenges you to try again and do better There are many things that I would not have learned during my time in university if it hadn't been for AIESEC. I am forever grateful for my EB, my own team in OGX and our entire LC and for all the experiences I was able to participate in.
Emilie Joris Vice President Outgoing ExchangeOUTGOING EXCHANGE
When I started in AIESEC it wasn’t on purpose or with a very certain goal in mind. I was just signing up to all the student organisations in hopes of finding a new “home”. When I was contacted by AIESEC I had no idea what they were about but after getting to know them I was suddenly surrounded by a group of people that I admired. I got comfortable with my study choice and the way that my life was going. If these were the kind of people I could share my little piece of the world with I would be fine. This EB (and especially Emilie) has showed me that the world is indeed a double-edged sword but also that I don’t mind wielding it. OGx has shown me a way to be a social being while also sharing knowledge with others. I will use what I learned here for the rest of my life.

OUTGOING EXCHANGE
Last year has been a very tumultuous year for me but I found my groove with AIESEC! I was welcomed in the group as a new friend, and with me changing study fields that were really nice to have a bit of stability. Besides that, I discovered the wonderful world of B2B contact and in the latter half of the year, I did personal sales. I really liked the opportunity to discover these new skill sets and develop my public speaking, it has made me more confident in life both in AIESEC and in general!
A year later I still have a very good friend group that I couldn't have imagined prior to this experience!

After a Year in the EB, I could easily say it's one of the best decisions I've made. This year we started immediately after Covid, which was very challenging.
It meant being creative with our resources. I started as a VP UR initially, then I became MKT&UR. We faced many challenges but after all we managed to make a difference for the next generations.
During the first semester, we boosted our relations with KDG and managed to have a workshop with Robert Half for KDG students.
The next semester was much better. We started with a lot of aulashouts on multiple campuses and schools. A lot of structural changes happened as well. Social media had a new form and updates. We were very active online more than posts per week, we also made a TikTok account (AIESEC in UAntwerpen) to target the newer generation.
The second semester was also very different for events.
We organized 2 events to promote OGV and OGT. The first event was very successful and we had 106 SUs for the event itself. The second event was also good; we had 35 SUs directly for GV.
KDG was also part of this semester and we participated in their job fair.
This year was about thinking outside the box, not only in my team but for the entire EB. We successfully managed to keep the members active and engaged. I’m proud of my members and team leaders for all the work that they have put in despite challenges.
I learned more in this position than I imagined, and I feel as if I’ve truly grown as a person and I had a very good time during this term.
Saleh Halimeh Vice President Marketing & URMARKETING
AIESEC gave the opportunity to develop myself in a setting where I felt safe and supoorted. I can now say I lead a team of people, for whom I hace the utmost respect and with whom I can reach everything. The best experince for AIESEC is connecting with people who I otherwise would never have met.
Carolina Almeida - Team LeaderMARKETING
I have more than one experience that fits under the description 'best experience'. The first best experience I had was the Exchange Event we organised in October. It was my first big event where I could talk to people without any fear. I had the feeling that I won because it went amazingly! After that, I went flyering a lot and I had a lot of fun. And last but not least I loved our Stakeholders Evening, an event where we invite family and friends. The history of AIESEC was explained and you could see the accomplishments of others, which was amazing!
Vera Podtchinenkova- MemberUNIVERSITY RELATIONS
Our University Relations have remained strong during the past year, As we managed to improve our university relations and expand to new campuses that we never reached before such as KDG zuid.
In the last year we maintained our biggest relation with the University of Antwerp, where we presented AIESEC at multiple events and were able to reach many students. We were also present at AMS (Antwerp Management School) and reached multiple students who were interested in our projects
This year, we collaborated with our partner Robert Half to organize an engaging LinkedIn event exclusively for the students of KDG. This event served as a unique opportunity for Robert Half to interactively connect with the students and share their valuable insights and expertise.
Furthermore, we had the opportunity to attend an informative session at PXL, located in the province of Limburg. During this session, we were able to reach out to a previously untapped group of students, broadening our potential audience. In conclusion, our University Relations remained strong and improved throughout the term.
We want to thank all the institutions that we have worked with:
University of Antwerp
KDG (Karel de Grote)

TALENT MANAGEMENT
I hesitated for the longest time whether or not I should apply to become a part of the EB in the fall of 2021. Eventually after a long time of twisting and turning I did not apply, and I came to regret that decision. So when the elected VPTM resigned, and the opportunity was presented to me, I knew I had to say yes. Becoming a VP later on in the term was not easy, but in the end I can honestly say that it was the best choice I could have made
Suddenly I became VPTM, I had already missed the most important time for TM, namely recruitment and I had not yet received my transition. It is fair to say that the beginning was pretty chaotic and I had a hard time to adapt to the role. Eventually I caught up, and felt that I was able to organise and structure the track.
However being a part of AIESEC is a learning journey, it are the people that work alongside you who make the experience so memorable.
It was with the support of the EB that I could accomplish a good recruitment in september, create a cohesive LC together and actually see our moto "work hard, play hard" come to life. I am really proud of the journey we had as an EB We lost some people and gained some, had some hard downfalls but also amazing highs. We became a really tight group of friends, and within the setting of AIESEC, we all learned how to work together on such an intense level, and how to communicate more effective within a group.
Lastly, as AIESEC gives youth the opportunity to develop leadership skills, I too took my first steps as a leader. As I became the one accountable for a track, I learned how to delegate, how to handle different kind of people and started to pay more attention to strategy Together with my team we were able to organise some very nice events an create a close LC. I am proud of this accomplishment, and very thankful for all the apportunities AIESEC has given me.

Hi, my name is Vera and I joined AIESEC in UA in October of 2021. I had just moved to Antwerp and wanted to meet some people. I have always had a drive to have a positive impact in the world, so that combination seemed perfect for AIESEC. I spent the 22-23 term in the TM team organising events and team buildings. In that time I learned how to plan an event on my own, show initiative and work together to organise team buildings. I was able to do that because while I had the freedom to work on my own, I also had the constant support of my VP and our team.
I am now much more comfortable taking initiative, have more confidence in my own skills and have a great group of friends in the LC. I am grateful for the things I learned during this year and the safe space I was given to develop.
EVENTS
Stakeholders evening
On the second of december, our annual stakeholders evening took place. This year we could use the lovely foyer of the aula rector Dhanis on the stadscampus of the University of Antwerp.
On this evening we celebrated the 66th anniversary and all the accomplishments of AIESEC in UA, together with members, alumni, trainees and partners.
Cantusses
This year we were able to organise 5 cantusses, so AiB, alumni as well as externals could enjoy our fantastic champagne cantus.
Our senior, Anne, and cantor, Demi, were able to do an amazing job, each time, and gave every attendee a memorable night!
TALENT MANAGEMENT
Hey, my name is Manon and I joined AIESEC in October of 2022. When I had my interview to become a new member, I told the VPTM that I wanted to have my own event agency. However I had no practical experience whatsoever so becoming part of TM was an amazing opportunity. Aside from learning the different action steps that are necessary when organizing an event, I also became more confident. Not only did I grow more assured as a person but I also developed professional communication skills. It was also great to be part of the TM team. The weekly meetings were a great place to meet up and update each other, not only on our AIESEC work but also on the things that happened that week. That way we really developed a fun friendship between all the members. In general I had a great experience and as the new VPTM I will try to live up to the example of my predecessor.

The past year I had the time of my life it's amazing that an organisation as AIESEC can give a such a unique experience to students. From the moment our term started I felt challenged to perform and try to master my role as Vice President Finance & Legal as soon as possible
Due to our history we planned our budget optimistic because we believe that we could achieve this since this would be the first term outside of corona since 2019.
For investments this year we looked at the heart of our organisation; the members, our philosophy was if we invest the members they will invest their time and effort in our organisation and help us reach our goals so we could thrive together.
For me personal it's was one hell of a ride to learn the in and outs of how an NGO works in terms of legalities and finances. From the basic of accounting and bookkeeping to difficult legal producers with the government to get trainees to work in Belgium, also become familiar with everything you need to do as a company in term of government deadlines every year e.g.: Annual account, property tax
AIESEC gives you the room to grow in the way you want and also the room to fail and learn from your mistake so you will not make them again in the future.
I really want to thank my fellow EB members It was amazing year and it was a privilege to work with all of them and I take everything I learned during this term forward from the soft skills and hard skills I learned as Finance & Legal to the friendships I gained a long the way.,
