A WORLD OF ADVENTURE
From raft-building to tennis and from drama to horse-riding AIGLON COLLEGE - SUMMER SCHOOL
From the moment students arrive on the mountain they are welcomed into the heart of our community. Assigned to a group leader – a member of our staff – they have the opportunity to experience more than 25 different activities, accompanied by fellow students their own age. So whether you’re interested in team sports, orienteering, visual art or climbing, we’ll encourage you to have fun, make friends and try something new. After an action-packed day, students unwind with fun, engaging entertainment and activities such as inter-house competitions, sports tournaments and disco evenings – and our summer barbeques are an excellent way to make new friends while admiring the view. All summer school activities are led by our team of expert teaching staff, ensuring that you are able to extend your skills as well as try something new in a safe environment. So, whether you are with us for two, three or four weeks, we promise you a great adventure! “I’ve had a really wonderful time,” says Yoshiko (12) from Japan. “I’ve made so many new friends – from all over the world!”

Every day begins with courses designed to broaden young minds Morning courses are an integral part of our programme and are often just as intellectually adventurous as our afternoons are physically adventurous! We focus on learning and mastering new skills, from being introduced to a new language to developing your leadership and team-building potential. Students can choose our intensive English or French language programmes or to follow modules from a range of subjects, all taught by our highly qualified staff, in small classes. We make imaginative use of interactive games, collaborative classroom projects, technology, drama and our location to make learning fun and engaging. The summer school’s language is English and the first language of our local area is French, so bilingualism is second nature at Aiglon – and a useful teaching tool for all programmes. Ultimately, all our students make strong progress and you’ll receive a written report at the end of the course recording your achievement. But, perhaps more importantly, you’ll leave the mountain with the real reward: a huge gain in confidence.

EXPEDITION
The ultimate adventure will take you high up into the Swiss Alps AIGLON COLLEGE - SUMMER SCHOOL
Your time here will culminate in an expedition, a two-day adventure in the mountains. All students camp overnight and older students may attempt a local peak, staying in a mountain hut. This off-campus adventure is a unique part of the Aiglon summer school. It is central to our life and ethos at Aiglon, where we believe that education is about the balanced development of mind, body and spirit. This approach is the reason so many students and parents choose us. Expedition offers the chance to explore the summer meadows and mountain trails, try out adventure activities such as river rafting and canyoning, and eat and sleep under the stars – experiences that build confidence and leadership skills, and are made possible by our qualified mountain guides and staff. And when you’re not going up (or down) the mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in team-building games and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. “Camping with my new friends was brilliant,” says Emilio (15) from Mexico. “But eating croissants outside our tent the next morning was probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had!”

Exciting, creative, invigorating: this is life lived on the mountain Life on the mountain is inspiring, healthy and invigorating. Here, you will climb hills and see views that would impress seasoned hikers! The fresh mountain air combined with comfortable and welcoming accommodation – sharing with up to three others – results in students sleeping well and waking rested and ready for an active day. Off campus, the modern Roc d’Orsay gondola runs from our doorstep, enabling students to get high into the mountains quickly and easily. Equal emphasis is placed on food and nutrition. Our School Restaurant provides delicious, balanced meals for all students, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. We are also very happy to cater for any specific dietary requirements. We are a truly international summer school – our students come from every corner of the globe, and together represent more than 30 nationalities. “My two children came back from summer school buzzing from the experience,” says Sabine, parent of Johan (9) and Olga (12) from Germany. “They are already looking forward to returning to Aiglon next summer!”
