Welcome to
Artember As the Chair of ARTember, I’m excited to welcome you and your family to Creative Airdrie’s 4th annual ARTember. Our 17 day city-wide festival is a celebration of what makes Airdrie a great place to live! Our community’s passion and energy drives the creative vibrancy we see around us each day. This vibrancy drives our artistic adventures, to brighten our days and liven our hearts, inspiring us to do more with each day. Our festival plans to be our best one yet – be prepared to be inspired and thrilled with all our events. You will be surprised at just how much we have going on. Keep our handy guide close for planning your events for the month. Grab a friend, a co-worker and your family and introduce them to our wonderful festival. During the month you can enjoy a fantastic dining experience, listen to amazing musicians or take the time to develop your inner artist. I would like to take a moment to thank our dedicated sponsors; The City of Airdrie, Propak Systems, Qualico Communities, Zytech Building Systems, Vitreous Glass and ATCO. We are delighted to have your strong support for the sustainment and development of arts within our great community. There are also countless local businesses and organizations who have donated time, money or resources, or have also stepped up to host art displays or special events. (See the complete list on page 46). Your support and contributions are instrumental to the success of ARTember! We also would like to thank the Alberta government for recognizing and rewarding our vision for celebrating Alberta Culture Days (Sept 26-28). The funding we received went directly into providing free family fun for the entire weekend in Nose Creek Park. Special thanks also to The Canadian Heritage Fund and Travel Alberta for enhancing our festival experiences. Events like these don’t happen without the many hours of volunteer spirit that Airdrie is famous for. When you see our volunteers in their (very hard to miss) bright green t-shirts you’ll know they have art in their hearts. And we are sure by the 28th of September, you will too. Get ready to get your art on!

About Creative Airdrie The Creative Airdrie Society (CAS) acts as the hub for investment, promotion, engagement, development and education of the arts in the community. Formed in September of 2010 by business leaders and artists, CAS has in five short years successfully changed the arts landscape in the City of Airdrie, by launching an annual arts festival ARTember and creating several ground breaking public art initiatives. CAS is generating city-wide buzz for their focus and acumen to move arts and culture to the forefront of the general population, and local and regional government. Mission
The mission of Creative Airdrie Society, with its partners, is to engage all Airdrie citizens in a vibrant and healthy arts and cultural community that is recognized for excellence.
