Air France - Questions in the sky

Why is there a small hole in the window? Why are planes white? How many times does a pilot fly around the world? Why doesn’t a plane flap its wings to fly?

According to Air France, these are the kind of questions kids ask when it comes to flying. In response, the airline has created a campaign and micro-site called “Questions in the Sky.”

The site features around 100 questions asked by kids, with the answers being provided in video form by Air France staff - from pilots to engineers.

The aim of the campaign is obviously for Air France to promote the benefits of travelling as a family with the airline, including various child friendly features such as in-flight entertainment and kids’ menus.

The campaign was supplemented by activity at Paris CDG Airport, where Air France built a special “Questions in the Sky” area.

Children were able to sit in an interactive cabin resembling a cockpit and ask a ‘machine’ questions to find out everything they want to know about flying and travel. If the question already exists, the machine answered it right away, otherwise it was posted for Air France staff to answer.
