Coffees from around the World
Method Roastery, Arch 51, Cherry Tree Walk Ethiopia
Many coffee lovers have an idea about how coffees from
different parts of the world taste. But even for your average coffee connoisseur, it may still be difficult at times to tell
the difference between two coffees from different regions
of the world; for instance, trying to decipher the taste of a
Guatemalan coffee from a Brazilian. We have highlighted a few
of these basic taste differences for you and where you can go to relax and enjoy coffees from around the world.

A naturally processed Ethiopian
coffee has more of a syrupy body, along with a strong sweet berry flavour. Ethiopia is in a category of its own because of its great
biodiversity and the many varieties of coffee grown there.
Crumpets & Coffee, Angel Place Thailand High quality arabica coffee should have a
slightly sweet flavour, with hints of chocolate, nuts, and caramel. You may also notice hints for fruit and berries. There will be a slight/ pleasant acidity, and a little bitterness.
Coffee #1, Pump Street Central America Flavours produced in Guatemala, Mexico and
Nicaragua are somewhat less sweet than those from South America. Other flavours commonly found in these coffees range from fruit to nuts;
these fruity flavours often work well with cocoa and spice flavours.

Alternatively, why not visit the Musée Rodin where you can explore the
sculptor’s work in the exquisite Hôtel Biron, as well as in the immaculate
three-hectare gardens. And, if you must, even take a selfie with The Thinker... Paris has many beautiful gardens to
explore, none more so than the Palais Royal, the most romantic of the city’s
small parks, with its colonnaded galleries. Galleries Lafayette is worth a visit for
the window displays alone, though Merci, located in a former wallpaper factory on the Marais, is now the department-store
of choice for the fashion forward in Paris. Marais is well-known for its fantastic shopping, including vintage fashion,
but Montmartre is also worth a visit for beautiful boutiques and independent
stores and, while you’re there, you can also take in the stunning Sacré-Cœur.
And of course, we can’t not mention the Eiffel Tower. Go at night to see it at its sparkling best.

forced to work as a slave. He was a shepherd in County Antrim for six years and spent much of his time praying, fearing his enslavement
was punishment for his lack of faith. He escaped Ireland as a stowaway and returned to Britain, where he studied religion before eventually
returning to Ireland as a missionary. He baptised thousands of a

VISIT Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe ON THE HIGH STREET A relatively new addition to the Worcester

itself as a must-visit destination for people of
all ages. We recently caught up with the High St's newest residents, Mark and Michelle, to
learn more about their tantalising array of treats which include your childhood favourites, as well as a vegan and gluten-free selections.
Tell us about your vegan/no sugar range? We offer a large range of 12 Vegan chocolate bars and other gift items such as Turkish delight. We also have our own ‘pick n mix’ vegan selection
for those that want a ‘gummy’ sweet. Our Vegan

near the ‘dairy free’ range. The dairy free selection is great for children (and adults) who need dairy

Great chocolate is... Our main range of chocolate is hand made so

Why did you choose Worcester to open your business? Two years ago we were on holiday in the Wye

our way back to Cambridgeshire. Everyone was so helpful, welcoming and engaging and we

months we’ve been here, everyone has been
even more helpful and friendly and we already feel very at home and very part of the city.
and Raspberry’ for that special treat or gift.
What is your perfect pick a mix? Well, it depends. Adults, surprisingly, often take
longer to decide on what to put in their bag than
their children. There are those who go for just the sours or those who want just the ‘gummies’ but
we think a mix of both is the best. We have ready
made packs for anyone who can’t decide, and even offer a ‘£1’ grab bag, great for a cinema treat, or a
‘one of everything’ bag for a family evening in front of the TV. The great thing about our pick n mix is that the small pots are freshened up every day…
and no other little hands have ‘picked’ at the pots!

1. Preheat oven to 180c and line the baking tins with baking paper. 2. Cream together the 200g softened butter and the caster sugar until light and fluffy. 3. Add the eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl as you go, until everything is smooth and incorporated. 4. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and coconut. Fold into the butter/ egg mix, making sure not to overmix. Followed by the milk. 5. Weigh your mix and divide by 4. Fill two of your tins each with one quarter. You’ll come back to the rest of your mix later. Bake in the centre of your oven for 25 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
6. When your cakes are done leave to rest for 10 mins and then transfer to a wire cooling rack. Re-line the tins with baking paper and bake the remaining two cakes, using the same method as before. 7. While your cakes are cooling you can make your buttercream. Cream together the softened 375g of butter (must be soft!) and the icing sugar until white and fluffy. Melt 200g of the white chocolate, making sure it doesn’t get too hot, and fold it into the buttercream along with the teaspoon of vanilla extract and small drop of blue food colour gel. Mix everything together until you have a smooth, pale blue buttercream. 8. When all 4 of your cakes are completely cool, use a bread knife to gently trim them so they are all of equal height and nice and flat.
9. Place one of your cakes on a board or a plate, securing it with a blob of buttercream. Begin to layer your cakes on top of each other using your buttercream. Cover the whole cake using a palette knife and scrape as close to the cake as you can. It doesn’t matter if you can see the cake at this point. Set it in the fridge for 20 minutes, then using the rest of your buttercream, cover the cake properly using the palette knife to get it as smooth as you can. 10. Mix the cocoa powder a little bit of water until you get a watery paste. Using your clean paint brush, splatter your speckles all over your cake. Practice on a plate beforehand until you get the splatter just right! 11. Melt the rest of the white chocolate and crush up your shredded wheat. Now you can make your nests and add your eggs to decorate how you wish.

Staying safe online Being online is a great way to look up information, do your shopping and stay in touch with friends and loved ones. The downside is that some people will attempt to exploit this convenience in the form of Viruses, online scams and bogus phone calls.
Here a few simple things to remember that will help keep you safe:
2. Keep your computer up to date
1. Install antivirus software
your computer is better protected
This can remove viruses before they can
infect your computer, prevent unwanted adverts, tracking your activities or
scanning your computer for personal

I know updates are a nuisance, but if you keep it up to date. You should receive notifications when new
updates are available, but you can
also update your system manually.
3. Keep personal information to yourself Be careful what you share on social
networks - Facebook and Twitter. Use
the privacy features on the site to choose who can see your profile and your posts, and avoid publishing information that identifies you, such as your telephone
