Welcome TO OUR Q3 2016, LUXURY MARKET REPORT. We hope you enjoy this 3rd Quarter edition of our Luxury Trends Report. As we look ahead to the upcoming Presidential election this November, many of our customers are asking how this may affect the luxury real estate market in Reno/Sparks. Historically, Presidential elections impact stock markets more acutely than residential real estate markets; however, luxury home sales have a strong relationship to the condition of the stock market and overall economy. While there may be some slowdown and caution, the overall effect will be slight. We anticipate continued steady movement in our market. Over the last 33 months, the majority of sales over one million dollars have been between $1 million and $1.5 million. Year-to-date, that segment represents 72% of the sales absorbing 61% of the available inventory in that price range. By contrast, sales over $2 million represent 7.4% of the sales this year with absorption at approximately 11% of the standing inventory. In this growing and changing market, it is important to use the skills of a professional specializing in luxury home sales.
