TO OUR 2015, LUXURY MARKET REPORT. Welcome to our Luxury Market Report for the 3rd quarter of 2015 highlighting the news and trends of luxury home sales in our Lake Tahoe/Truckee region. This third quarter showed a 12% increase overall in the number of sales as compared to the 3rd quarter of 2014. Martis Camp was the main driver of luxury sales with seven homes totaling over $27.5 million. As an increasing number of homes are completed and sold in Martis Camp, sales volume will continue to be driven higher. Comparing 3rd quarter of 2015 to 3rd quarter of 2014, Lahontan and Tahoe Donner showed increases in sales above $1.5 million whereas Old Greenwood and the Lake Tahoe area remained steady. Heading into the 4th quarter, anticipation for a stellar winter season is high on everyone’s wish list and should provide an increase in purchases over the next several weeks before we see a tapering heading into the holidays. Our luxury inventory is compelling , with active homes ranging from the low $1 million price range up to just under $19 million for a 5-acre parcel in Meeks Bay.
