TO OUR 2015, LUXURY MARKET REPORT. Welcome to our 2015, year end Luxury Market Report highlighting the news and trends of luxury home sales in our region. In comparison to 2014, overall sales in the luxury market this past year were down by 34 units, but average sales prices increased. Martis Camp in Truckee continues to lead in luxury market sales, with 22 homes sold in 2015 at a total volume of over $105,745,000. Having just been named 2015 Curbed Cup Ski Town of the Year, defeating 16 of the top ski towns in the nation, Truckee has arrived into its own identity as a ski town, with upgrades in shopping and dining over the last several years, in addition to its access to 17 world-class ski resorts nearby. And with El Niño winter gracing us thus far with plenty of fresh powder for the winter enthusiast, we look forward to a steady growth in sales over one million dollars. Although interest rates are expected to rise slightly this year, the impact to sales over $1 million doesn’t have as much impact since the majority of sales are cash transactions.
