A selection of my work, from 2015 to 2018

Embrace / Colouring pencils and paint / 2016

Home Sweet Roam / In the summer of 2017 a friend and I decided our life could use an adventure. We came up with the idea to go on holiday by bike just like our parents used to do when they were our age. We started our journey to Germany: inexperienced and fully packed. We passed through several adventurous occasions and a lot of our expectations turned out to not be so realistic. Nevertheless, we had lots of fun. I drew six small illustrations of our cycling journey so we would never forget how easy having fun is, and how fun it is when things don’t go according to plans. / Digital illustrations / 2017

Hold Your Horses / A part of a project about ‘something you are scared of’. I do not like being nearby horses, but I am simultaneously intrigued by their beauty. While making this drawing, I tried to focus on the shapes of the tiny horses. The drawing also contains a joke: one of the horses is a unicorn, but I can not remember which one and no one has been able to locate it untill this moment. / Fineliner on paper / 70 x 100 cm / 2016

Zeitgeist / I kept my eyes wide open for half a year, while conducting research into the zeitgeist of this time. I tried capturing my view of ‘right now’ into texts, images, ceramics, photography and an animation. The meaning of zeitgeist is connected to people, location and time, so is hard come up with one definition or finished work. Because of this, I have chosen to present my research as a process, a series of unfinished works which hopefully will portray my view of the time we live in. / Research through various media / 2017

3D illustration / Paint, tinfoil and yarn / 25 x 10 x 10 cm / 2016

Ten Times Imperfection / In collaboration with ADCN (Advertising Design Creativity the Netherlands) I brainstormed about the future of design. The concept I came up with is as follows: “I would like to go back to the handmade: where imperfections and mistakes can be, where the ctrl-z button does not exist. I used this concept to photograph ten different, imperfect, still life images. / Photography / 2016

Mary Quant / How do you revive a ‘60s fashion brand? I immersed myself into the colours, shapes and pattern of back then and processed this through animated patterns into three short, animated commercials which tell the world: Mary Quant is back! / Animation / 3 x 0:040 / 2016 / URL 1 / URL 2 / URL 3

Plankgas / This image was created during one day. I drew situations that I saw on my way to school, photocopied the drawings and cut them to pieces. Out of these pieces I created a collage, which I titled ‘Plankgas’, which means ‘to go flat out’ in Dutch. / Ink and photocopier / 2017

Hide and Seek / Film photography / 2017

Tiny fears / Iron wire and paper machĂŠ / 19 x 19 x 5 cm / 2015

Typo’s / Letraset on paper / 2016

Orange Family / markers on paper / 2016

Negative Space / Black and white photography / 2016

Vod / I designed and made a clothing line from second hand fabrics, to combat the idea of ‘fast fashion’. I named it: Vod, which means ‘rag’ in Dutch. Every item is unique and handmade and therefore is more valuable than any mass-produced item. I also designed the logo, corporate identity and price tags. Secondhand clothing is not gross, it is the future! / Clothing and corporate identity design / 2017

Infographic / Photography and typography / 2016

Thuis / Film photography / 2017

The man who saw / Watercolours and pencils / 2016

Mad Hatters / Fineliner, markers and watercolours / 2017

Gestaltgesetze / Lasercut wood / 21 x 0,5 x 15 cm / 2017

Unstaged Moments / Something that started as ‘just testing my camera’ on family and friends, soon grew to become something bigger: documenting those who are close to me. Because they know me and trust me, and vice versa, they do not pretend to be somone else. The resulting images are pure, honest and unstaged, that is what I love about them. / Photography / 2015 - 2017

Construction / Chopsticks and cardboard / 30 x 19 x 22 cm / 2016

A whole new World / Chopsticks and cardboard / 30 x 19 x 22 cm / 2016

Illustrations / Screenprint, crayons, paint and marker / 2017

Reminder / Part of a series about a particular shell / Acrylic paint / 42 x 59 cm / 2015
