The score is written in C ƵƌĂƚŝŽŶ͗ ϯ͛Ϭϰ Text DEMETER Where I lived ʹ winter and hard earth. I sat in my cold stone room choosing tough words, granite, flint, to break the ice. My broken heart ʹ I tried that, but it skimmed, flat, over the frozen lake. Notation Extended Techniques For Lute Fret Glissandi: This involves the left hand finger sliding up or down the string from one note to the next.
Right Hand Glissando: This glissando is produced by holding down the indicated note in the left hand and sliding the right hand fingernails from that spot to the soundhole or vice versa. The figure used to notate a right hand glissando is shown below.
An arrow pointing up indicates a glissando from the fretboard to the soundhole, whereas a downward arrow indicates a glissando from the soundhole to the fretboard.
Left Hand Muting Over Frets: A left hand muted sound is created by the left hand slightly on the strings without pressure. This technique is indicated by the use of an X as a notehead.
