AfroGossip Ghanaian Celebrities Hit Jack Pot In The States ($3000) till Prince David had to do a follow up. The informant also added that each celebrity was promised $3000 with accommodation and their welfare throughout their stay in the United States. “They were promised $3000 each for attending the wedding “he revealed.
An informant made it known to us that a man visited Ghana early this year and met some of the Ghanaian celebrities. After interacting with them at Afrikiko, he promised to fly them for his wedding in Ohio Columbus (U.S.A) Information is that some Ghanaian celebrities like Majid Michel and John Dumelo did not take the man serious
As to whether Prince David was related to the man like people are saying, the informant answered that Prince is not related to the man in anyway, just that Prince did a follow up and had the man’s attention at the time Majid and co were not taking the man serious. When we asked him why Majid and John did not take the man serious, he stated that he can’t speak for John. In the case of Majid, he made it known that he can’t be
involved in such activities. As it stands now Prince David Osei ,Agya Koo, Kalsoume, K.K.D. Kojo Antwi and Obour are the celebrities confirmed to be in the United States of America because of the man’s wedding . While Kyeiwa, Mr.Beautiful, Roger Quartey, Frank Rajah and others are in Europe for a tour courtesy Fred Nuamah whiles Nana Ama McBrown joins them later. Charting with John Dumelo to know why he did not attend to the man, he stated that it came at a time that he had just came from U.S. When he was asked further about the money involved in the deal, he said he didn’t negotiate so he can’t give a specific amount they were paid for the wedding.
What I do to sustain my marriage —Omotola Jalade Rumours have been rife that delectable and beautiful actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde’s matrimonial home might be experiencing some cracks. But thank God, the mother of four has finally laid the rumour to rest. GE accosted her sometime ago to know the secret behind her unharmed marriage, and this is what she said: “Being married to somebody outside showbiz is an advantage for me. So I’m imagining maybe that could help. He is not in my profession, so I don’t see him often, and I’m not in his own profession, so he doesn’t see me often, too. We don’t see each other often. So, I guess that gives us space which is important in marriage. He has space and I have space. Don’t forget that a marriage is a partnership of two individuals. I had my life before I met him and the same goes for him, so we need to understand and respect each other’s freedom and individuality. I think the reason why a lot of marriages run into trouble is because the couples don’t understand that they are two different people and are into a partnership for life. The purpose of us coming together is

to try see how to make each other’s life bearable and not unbearable. I mean, you shouldn’t be in my business all the time and I shouldn’t be in yours. When it is time for us to collaborate and think about how to make our lives more enjoyable and sweeter, we will do that and when it’s time for me to figure out myself I need my partner to get out of my situation; that is totally important. But like I always say, I think the highest part of it is the fear of God. If you fear God and you know that you do not necessarily have to answer to him or her it makes things easier because you know that you have a higher being to answer to. So even when you make mistakes, you report yourself to God first and foremost, so that he can help you out, and then you can go ahead to sort it out with the human being(s). But the good thing is that you wouldn’t even do all those naughty stuffs that break marriages because you know somebody up there is watching you.” Hmmm….this is quite sweet to hear; or what do you think? We hope some actresses whose names we wouldn’t want to mention are reading this. Oops!
AfroGossip Didier Drogba Marries In Monaco Didier Drogba officially got married to his long-time fiancée and mother of his three children June this year in a super low key ceremony. Chelsea hitman Didier Drogba wedded his long-time fiancée Lala Diakite in Monaco, France before some 500 guests drawn from the world of sport and show business. The ceremonies, was chaired by Chelsea owner Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, lasted until Monday June 13.
Drogba’s team-mates Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda was part of the groom’s men. Drogba and his Malian wife-to-be Lala met in France while the player was beginning his career. They have three children.
Cameroonian football star Samuel Eto’o, Senegalese singer Youssour N’Dour, American R&B singer Akon, Ghana and Chelsea’s Michael Essien and a crop of NBA stars all attended the wedding. The marriage was officiated at the Marie de Monaco and followed by festivities at Monte-Carlo Bay – a popular seaside hotel in the Principality.
Majid Poisoned
News-One has gathered that players within Ghana’s movie industry are covering up an incident in which actor Majid Michel reportedly had a poisonous substance put in his food. Our sources say during the shooting of the movie ‘Somewhere in Africa’, medical reports suggested that someone had put poison in a tin of milk Majid was supposed to have used in his food. “It was very serious but we have been asked to keep quiet about it. When he took the tin of milk, he realized that the contents had changed into a very black
substance so he got scared and raised an alarm. He was taken to the hospital and the doctors confirmed that it was food poisoning. “It is not clear who exactly did it but the milk was opened the previous night and was to have been used but something else came up so he put the milk back in the fridge and went with his friends to eat in town. “The next morning he took it again to use and saw the black substance,” the source revealed. Two other sources who were part of the cast and crew of ‘Somewhere In Africa’ also confirmed the report to News-One but begged to remain anonymous. What they added was that Majid left his hotel room door open when he went out with friends that previous night, noting that was the time his milk might have been poisoned. The incident reportedly happened in a hotel near Shia Hills in Accra. The award-winning actor recently topped headlines when he was sacked from the red carpet being used by celebrities and VIPs at the 64th annual
Cannes Film Festival in France last month because he was not wearing the right type of shoes, News-One has gathered. An eyewitness told News-One that: “It was a very long red carpet and when Majid hit the run way he was very happy, walking with a spring in his steps when suddenly the guys from security and protocol signaled him to come over. “He initially thought it was for an autograph or something but his face changed when they informed him that he had been given five minutes to either leave the red carpet or go change his shoes. “He was dressed in a pair of jeans, and a jacket on top but was wearing a pair of sneakers on his feet…it was both funny and a bit embarrassing but eventually he had to get off the carpet and quickly buy a pair of new shoes from a Lebanese guy who was selling some cheap executive shoes not far away,” the source who attended the Cannes Film Festival narrated.

MISS GHANA UK 2010
Denise Maame Abena Hanson
Name: Denise Maame Abena Hanson Age: 21 years old Location: Brixton, South West London Background/Tribe: Ashanti Occupation: 3rd year student at Kingston University LONDON - studying Child Nursing Hobbies/Experience: I enjoy being part of teams and helping with things that give back to the community, for example I was involved in a youth programme ‘Negativity into Positivity scheme’. This was designed for the youths in my area to come and take part in music, dancing, poetry, art etc to prevent them for being involved or influenced in any criminal activity on the streets. I also enjoy cooking, reading, fashion and shopping, socialising with family and friends, dancing and looking after children. Who is your Role Model & Why? My parents have been my ultimate role models because they have nurtured me and have instilled the Ghanaian culture values since I was young. They have been assertive in encouraging me and supporting me in every aspect of my life. I give thanks to them for inspiring me and helping me become the woman I am today. Tell us about your role model? My mum is Ashanti, a catering assistant. She is the granddaughter of the late Juabenhene the 1st (OtuoSiriboe 1st). My Dad is also Ashanti, he was a science teacher (head of Science) at a secondary school but has recently moved back to live in Ghana. My parents always taught me that an opportunity won’t be yours unless you take it. I stand by this and take every opportunity to make something better of myself. They have also instilled the fear of God in me. They have worked hard to make all things possible for me today. Who represents a true Ghanaian lady to you? Yaa Asentewaa because of the courage she showed in confronting injustice during the colonialism of the British. What makes a Ghanaian lady stand out among other ladies? Ghanaian ladies are different because we have great belief in our culture, our nation; we empower the men
allowing us to be strong. Yaa Asentewaa paved a way for Ghanaian women to be influential to Ghana and the people around us. We take pride in our appearance and behaviour; every woman should be “awuraba” because that’s what sets us aside from others. We are beautiful women of virtue, wise and courageous. What makes you proud to be a Ghanaian lady? I am proud to be a Ghanaian lady because Ghana is a country of cheerful anticipation and diverse culture. Our people are extremely friendly, respectful and composed. Also when people talk about Ghana there is a sense of unity and pride due to Ghana’s dominating part in African history. How did you feel when you were announced Miss Ghana UK 2010? When the presenters announced “and the winner of Miss Ghana UK 2010 is contestant number 6” I was in a total shock, I didn’t know what to do, it didn’t seem real to me at the time. There was so much emotions flowing through me at the time, it was so unreal. I didn’t know how to express myself. I was the girl that always tried to avoid speaking in public or performing due to lack of confidence and here I was being Crowned Miss Ghana UK. That was one of the proudest moments of my life for me and my family, I would love to relive that day all over again. The experience was amazing and the hard work that was put in each individual contestant paid off. The competition was tough against 12 other girls. 9th October 2010 is differently a moment of my life Since winning Miss Ghana UK 2010 what have you been up to? Being crowned Miss Ghana UK 2010 it has been none stop especially with me being a full time student. I have taken part in a number of events. I was a guest of honour at a Radian Family Foundation Charity Dinner and fund raising night, I’ve presented a number of awards to people at award shows. The Ghana High Commissioner in the UK and Ireland hosted a meet and Greet reception in my Honour and also attended their Independence Luncheon, Ghana V England press conference. They has been so many events that I have attended since being crowned MGUK 10. One of the best experience I’ve had since been crowned MGUK 2010 was in March when I had the opportunity to meet the Black Star players at Ghana v England football match where myself and previous MGUK Winners did the welcoming for the Black Stars it was such a fantastic experience. I travelled to Ghana as part of my prize for winning the show at Easter, I did TV, radio interviews
months have been wonderful. I have just received an invitation to an event the Prince of Wales is Organising later this month “I am so excited I never thought this would happen to me”. Miss Ghana UK 2010 (Miss Denise Hanson) and many more events. I was a guest of honour at the Royal Richester Hotel in East Legon 2nd year anniversary party I visited Tenshie Children’s Home where I made donation of provisions. As expected the English Weather, was not so pleasant, as rainy spells occurred from time to time, but this did not stand as a barrier for the determined movie lovers who made sure they attend the event on time and in style. The start-up was quite slow, but pleasant! The audience that attended were all beautifully dressed, friendly, and sociable. As we all waited for the cast to arrive, talks of positive expectations of the movie spread across the cinema.

Looking absolutely stunning in her African attire, Shirley Frimpong, and Assistant Chris Attoh, graced the UK Premiere, alongside, the cast crew members, John Dumelo, Naa Asorkor, Yvonne Okoro, Anima Misa Amoah, Joselyn C-Dumas and Adjetey Annag. The movie was very well structured, and displayed different everyday life experiences which we can all relate to, whether it has to do with Family Support; which is shown through Baab’s divorce period. Loneliness; Mrs Adams, prays constantly for God to help her get over her dead husband, so she can move on with her life,
Guilt; Kukua is filled with guilt even though many years have passed since she broke Denu’s heart, by leaving him without any explanation, known to him, and lastly we have Jennifer Adams. Beautiful, demanding, strict, ‘no nonsense’ woman, who thrives off ‘power,’ and can be seen as snobbish at times, her problem is, she is in her mid thirties and still single. Though her family can put up with her intolerable attitude, one person, is set to teach her a lesson or two on how to treat people. This ten part series is MUST FOLLOW! WATCH OUT! AfroSports Africa XI meets World XI on AFRICA UNION Day
I
t was a Wednesday rainy afternoon. It was the 25th of May 2011 in Accra, Ghana – Africa Union Day. And it was on this day that thousands of fans trooped to the Accra Sports Stadium to witness selected World players beat selected Africa players in a charity football match – The Michael Essien Peace in Africa Charity Match. The scores were

option preferred rather than arms and fighting which destabilizes the various economies and affect the continent as a whole. African Heads of States have identified that Peace and Security are the cornerstones of a thriving and integrated Africa. Thus amongst others, by appointing key personalities from various sectors, they will be able to galvanise popular support for peace and security in Africa as a whole and mobilise additional resources. In line with its goal, the African Union (AU) has developed various initiatives such as cessation of hostilities in all conflict areas which are still experiencing varying levels of violence; distribution of humanitarian arms to affected areas; one day one goal football games played across Africa on world peace day; ‘make peace happen’ lessons in learning institutions among others. On World Peace Day last year, Michael spoke to Africa with a message of peace on over fifteen (15) radio stations across the African continent and released a message of peace in a game brochure at one of Chelsea’s games which attracted about 40, 000 fans. This year, Mr. Michael Essien, as part of his commitment, hosted World Football
Stars in a charity football match between a select African 11 side led by him and a world 11 side led by Ashley Cole at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra, Ghana on 25th of MAY to promote and rally support for PEACE in AFRICA. The main objective of this event was to raise awareness and funds to encouraging peace in the continent as a whole. Beneficiaries of this match were to learn from the ideals of the game and the message sent across was to establish especially in their minds that engaging football games such as this one brings people of different race, colour, religion and belief together. So on the eve of 24th of May, a number of African and international football players arrived at the Kotoka International Airport for this charity football match. They stormed the capital of Ghana, Accra and their arrival at the airport was a spectacular affair with the captain of Africa 11, Michael Essien and captain of the World 11, Ashley Cole stepping out from the privately chartered plane hand in hand. The invited guests were met with a display of traditional drumming and dancing which Emmanuel Adebayor could not help but join. The press conference held at the airport was

to welcome the invited guests and let Africa know that indeed the world had arrived to support them in their efforts to make peace happen. The rest of the evening was spent at a cocktail event followed by the guests exploring Accra by night. group followed by a superb performance by Kwabena Kwabena and Ibo Cooper made the crowd go mad with joy as they waited in anticipation of the arrival of their stars. But Michael first had to perform his duty as Peace Ambassador – he lit the peace flame assisted by Her Excellency Gawanas from the Africa Union. Both teams made their way onto the pitch – the Africa team led by Captain Michael Essien and Coach George Weah and the world team led by Captain Ashley Cole and Coach Marcel Desailly. After the national anthems were sung, the game began. The first goal was scored by Zambia football legend Kalusha Bwalya for the Africa side but this was equalised by Scott Smith for the World side. Ghanaian legend Yaw Preko scored for the world side and soon it was half time. The half time break saw performances from Castro featuring Asamoah Gyan and other Ghanaian music artistes.

Half time was over and it had started to rain but the fans were not to be deterred as they chanted for Didier Drogba to be introduced to the game whilst the players were eager to finish the game. Coach Weah duly obliged and introduced Didier Drogba after half time who levelled for Africa but this effort was tainted by goals from world players Florent Malouda and Ashley Cole.
All too soon the game was over but it was a successful event - the greatest event on the continent on Africa Union Day with a strong message sent across Africa especially and the world
as a whole. AFRICA MUST UNITE FOR PEACE. In Michaels’ own words at the end of the day: “It’s been great! I am very happy with the fans and the players. The fans really surprised me. It was raining but they were still there. I am really grateful. Well Done, Michael Essien!

Eva Newlove: What’s the motive of NIIMP? How did you guys come together? AJAY: Niimp stands for Nothing Is Impossible which is our motive. Our full name is Niimp Cohalition which described what we stand for. Nothing is impossible when you put your mind to it and cohalition we made up which is not the temporary meaning the spelling we all know connotes but the permanent togetherness we have. AJAY: Thanks we feel strongly that we have the total package and our aim is to one day become a house hold name. We currently use all forms of media platforms to get our music heard although difficult at times being fairly new in the industry, it motivates us more to get on live shows, radio interviews, tours and our self confidence to continue to make good music. Eva Newlove: You guys write and produce your own stuff n AJAY is a producer and a musician if I’ve done my research correctly lol. What inspires you guys to right? Because you got some lyrics, when I’m listening to your tracks I’m laughing my head off as well. AJAY: Yes you are right lol. We produce our own material from idea to conception which helps to release a standard of quality with creative ability to push boundaries. We have played instruments for years therefore musically inclined and able to bring out the emotions in our music. Our lyrics are inspired by past experiences, current situations both personal and common to all and also our future aspirations to succeed. The best part of our music is that we can get into character and really demonstrate some comical events and stories we remember through all our experiencing which helps make our music real and not just entertaining. Eva Newlove: Lets talk about some deeper stuff what the public wouldn’t know is that you guys are individually all business men, do you mind elaborating on your individual professions? AJAY: Yes our mentalities are in enterprise mode and hope to continue in this light. Ajay has a management and recruitment background, while Black Eagle has a Legal background and Addo also has a management background. AJAY: We are feeling a lot of artist at the moment as there so many talented artists in the industry and not only in the afrobeat genre of music. Our music also has a strong gospel influence in its positivity and also cultural too as the group is made up of two Nigerians and a Ghanaian. I leave that to you to guess again...lo Eva Newlove: What keeps you guys strong? What gives you strength? And that may be different individually. AJAY: Family is so important for strength and motivation. Our love ones keep us going and their support for our project keeps our strength levels high. iRate I rate this movie a 5* movie! The picture quality is fantastic, and the dialogue is clear, with no background interferences. The movie displays a more modernised, structure to a detective, drama and action movie, and the majority of the actors used were top notch actors and actresses from Ghana. There were some new faces that were not so pleasing to the ears, for their poor acting, but not too bad, to bring down the whole show! Watch how this story unfolds.
