Music Together

AGES NEWBORN-5

SONGS DANCE PLAY LAUGH LEARN Music Together is the award-winning program that pioneered parent participation, early childhood music classes. We provide a true family music experience, as siblings can attend the mixed age classes together. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and best buddies are all invited to attend.

Bollywood Dance

AGES 6-11

At this fun and vibrant camp, children will learn how to move and groove to some popular Bollywood songs! Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle.

What will you and your child find in a Music Together® class? Rainbow colored falling leaves, cows sitting in the old oak tree, tyrannosaurus rex, shining stars, rockets to the moon, trains to the beach. You will hear happy village harvest dances, Korean lullabies, Cuban rain forest songs, Jazz, classical, oldies and goodies, and music from around the globe, as well as original compositions written for Music Together classes. You'll find drums of all sorts, bells, triangles, shakers, scrapers, kitchen instruments, scarves, stretchy dancing ribbons - instruments galore!

Dance Arts & Play Camp

AGES 6-11

At dance art and play camp, we provide a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes movement, choreography, improvisation and performance. Our artists will explore everything from hip hop, jazz, musical theater, ballet and tumbling, study creative arts, and engage in interactive games.

Prepare for a full-day LEGO® camp packed with hands-on and minds-on STEM fun! First, build projects inspired by cool machines while applying real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture. Then join Ash and Pikachu to explore the vast world of Pokémon. Come along on our journey to catch 'em all!

Bring your favorite Minecraft adventures to life with our enthusiastic Play-Well instructors. In a Minecraft world powered by LEGO® resources, we will build shelters to keep out Creepers, craft mystical items that only true masters can wield, and perfect our crossbow skills to stop the Wither from taking over! Level Up Gaming with LEGO® Materials

Come and join our exciting “offline” video game experience where we give the controllers a rest and put your building skills to the test as we bring your favorite characters from the virtual world to the real world. Mandalorian Training with LEGO® Materials

AGES 5-7

Rise to the challenge to build and program robots using the LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 system! Learn about mechanical and software design, loops, conditional statements, problem solving, and teamwork skills. Design and construct your robot to avoid obstacles, pick up and carry objects, and play sounds. Projects are structured so that students work in an open-ended, investigative environment while having fun.

Kids Carpentry

Kids Carpentry teaches children the safe use of hand tools in a fun environment. Kids build their own wooden projects from scratch, gaining experience in physical engineering, applied math, problem solving, and patience. The lessons, projects, and tools evolve with each student's individual pace. We build from a variety of project examples such as boats, trucks, bird feeders, doll furniture, spinning tops, airplanes, shelves, boxes, games and much more.

*$45 material fee paid to the instructor on the first day of camp.

Video Games Unplugged with LEGO® Materials

AGES 9-14

Level up your LEGO® Engineering skills in this video gameinspired experience. Our Play-Well instructors bring your favorite video game characters and experiences to real life. Using LEGO®, learn Link’s signature moves to defeat enemies, build mechanisms to make Sonic spin, and even build go-karts to challenge Mario and friends in a race for the Mushroom Cup. All the fun of a video game adventure without the screen!

Friendship Camp Subsidy Program

This summer the City of Albany is offering financial subsidies to income eligible Friendship Camp participants. The subsidies are available to campers and junior counselors who reside in Albany. This temporary program is funded through Albany’s American Rescue Plan Act funds of 2021.

Interested families should apply before registering for Friendship Camp. Applications will be accepted throughout the summer or until funds are no longer available. Please find more information and the application at: www.albanyca.org/friendshipclub

Elementary Summer Camp

Come join us at Friendship Elementary Summer Camp for children entering 1st through 5th grades in Fall 2023! The camp balances indoor and outdoor play between facilities located at Ocean View Park. Children will explore arts, crafts, engineering, and science related activities. Varied weekly activities will be accompanied by walking field trips to different Albany locations. This year, our weekly walking field trips will include a visit to the Albany Aquatic Center. Certain weeks apply*

Kinder summer Camp

Join our Friendship Kinder Summer Camp for children entering TK & Kindergarten in 2023! Kinder Camp is a half-day camp that incorporates indoor and outdoor play and walking field trips to the Memorial Park playground. Children will build friendships, explore songs, arts, crafts, science, and engineering activities. Sign your children up all summer for familiar routines but diverse experiences.
