范氏村民世世代代都過著上山打柴，落地耕作，下海捕魚，飲 山溪，點油燈的半農半漁式的樸素生活。望東灣村依山傍水， 與世隔絕，二百多年來都保持著原始風貌，山上樹林茂密，海 灣水清沙白。村裡雞鳴狗吠，炊煙晚霞，月白風清，蟲吟耳畔 ，濤聲入夢，雞鳴報曉……美麗得有如再世「桃花源」。
