CUBE HOUSE
C O N C E P T
The location of the cube house is located in a suburban area. The concept was to create a cube house out of twelve wooden cubes and four sticks glued together to make a conceptual model. The cubes represent living space, while sticks represent circulation. The conceptual model was developed into a Cube House. This house is meant to be designed for a weekend getaway, with children because it has two bedrooms and a master’s bedroom.

The post-industrial waterfront of Brooklyn presents a once-in-alifetime opportunity for the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and for the city as a whole. Eighty-five acres of new parkland adjacent to 800 acres of open water and harbor views make this the most auspicious Brooklyn park project since Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted designed Prospect Park 140 years ago.
S HADOW
M A P S
At 9.5 acres, Pier 1 is the largest of the park piers, and the only pier that is built on landfill rather than on pile-supported structure. This strong foundation provides the base for a new topography including a hill at the center of the pier which provides dramatic and sweeping views of the New York Harbor and the Brooklyn Bridge.
EN TRYWAY
The concept that was used for the entrance of Brooklyn Bridge Park was to focus on two aspects, waves and Brooklyn Bridge itself. Entrance consists of two waves and a truss. One of the wave towers has an information center; the other has a gift shop. Near the entrance, on the left side you will find bathrooms with a digital map display. There is tension created between waves and trusses, which give direction. These trusses that spray outward would pull visitors in as trusses themselves give direction.

The museum that is located inside Brooklyn Bridge Park has a magnificent view of downtown Manhattan and waterfront. As you enter into the lobby, there is an information center and a coat check. On the right side you will see restrooms and elevators. For the staff, there is a security room that contains cameras and other equipment. Every floor contains restrooms at the same location on each floor. As you continue to the back of the museum, you will find a large workshop and storage place. There is also a mechanical room and staff loading dock, which allows importing and exporting of artwork. Further into the lobby, there is a museum gift shop, which also has an entrance from the outside. The second level has an outsized wing restaurant with a large waterfront view. There is a petite outside area. On the other side of the lobby, you have three small exhibits where artwork can be placed. On the third level, there is a main exhibit with a double height. Then you will find two large exhibits with portable walls, which can be moved to accommodate space necessities. Outdoor area on the third floor is large with sitting space. When the walls are properly opened, the whole floor of the museum transforms into two large and two small exhibits. Fourth level is divided into two main sections: one is offices and the other is educational facilities. The fourth level has a double height space looking down to the main exhibit on the third floor. There are four classrooms for public education. Wavy portable display panels are used for artwork presentations. There is also a huge auditorium designed for a large amount of people.

First level has a ceiling using a European system called stretch ceiling. The design shape of the ceiling is a curve that synchronizes with the curve of the bar countertop right below it. Blue stretchable material over the ceiling area gives off mirror light reflection with a light blue color. The Venetian plaster gives texture of water. The bar has blue colored reflective walls resembling a blue shaded mirror. There is a lounge with comfortable chairs complementing small cocktail tables. Art work on the main sitting area lights up in the background using LED bulbs. In the middle of the first floor, there is a dance floor that lights up with bright alternating colors. Second floor’s ceiling uses stretch ceiling with abstract design and lights up in pink and purple LED lights. Walls use Venetian plaster of purple and pink color, representing passion. The colors of passion resemble the Mexican dancing woman. The Garden has a mesmerizing fabric above its sitting area with matching colors, depending the occasion. The background on the stage lights up when needed. The booths eating area has artwork which illuminates in the back.

The project was to renovate a modern and luxurious loft apartment located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The concept of the project was angles. In the field of Interior Design and Architecture in general, the way the structures and designs are positioned, including their angles is a vital part of the overall design. In the case of this loft apartment, angles help make each of the rooms and structures separate, efficient and appealing. For example, a loft with angles correctly shaped allows access to various views, such as, good view of manhattan panorama, and they give direction around the apartment for easy circulation. As you enter to the apartment, there is a spacious and open kitchen with a bar. It has a state of the art design with the walls and other structures at various angles that make the kitchen appealing to the eye and well-organized overall. The kitchen has a glossy look due to the white tiles. In the kitchen there is space for various modern appliances, such as a microwave, dishwashing machine, and refrigerator. The colors are contrasting from the ceiling to the floor as lighter to darker shades of mainly beige. The walls are light beige, while the floors are brown color. The sofa and arm chairs are specially placed to be able to keep eye contact amongst the others in the room and simultaneously be able to watch the television.

The dining room has a dining table at the center and an office at one of the corners containing a computer table at the corner making the office private. The large windows, which are 10 feet high, have a fascinating view of the city. The office also has a beautiful view of the city. Following to the master bedroom, which is next to the stairs, has room for a king size bed, wardrobe and a dresser. Similar to other rooms, the view from the windows is looking at the city. This shows the efficiency and the beauty of using angles properly, since the view of the city is visible from many locations around the apartment. The colors of the walls are cherry. On both sides of the bedroom, the walls are made out of white glass with designs inside of them, which are held by metal cables all the way to the top. The glass walls are semi-transparent; hence only shadows are faintly visible from the other side of the walls. The other two sides of the walls in the bedroom are made of Venetian plaster. The floor has a glossy finish.

The stairs to the loft is solid and wide. It bends perpendicularly at midpoint. The loft has an area that can act as a second bedroom for kids. In the loft, there is an area for studying and relaxing, while on the other side, it has a closet with sliding doors. The angle storages have white glass on one side and mirrors on the other. To block the bedroom view, there is a computer table with the glass wall for privacy that is not fully transparent making only faint shadows visible. Next to the loft, there is a seating area that is looking over loft through the windows looking down to the dining room and office. In the apartment, there are two bathrooms. One when you enter the apartment, on the left side and another next to the kids’ area. The bathroom on the first level is A.D.A. accessible, roomy and has the shower, sink and toilet all next to each other. While, the bathroom next to the kid's are has the sink on one side and the toilet with the shower on the other.
BOUTIQUE HOTEL
A boutique hotel provides a luxurious environment with personalized accommodations. Since New York City attracts millions of tourists annually, our city needs to provide visitors with high quality hotels. Boutique Hotels might not only be served to annual guests but may also be open to the general public. My goal for working with this building type is to achieve connection between individuals from all around the world that will stay at the hotel, where functionality, design, and productivity are a key factor of this building. The concept was developed from the sound waves.
CONCEPT
landmark dedicated to seaport in Downtown Manhattan, New York. Therefore I developed my concept based on the sound waves put out from the ocean waves. The theory of design is based on the smooth curves that the resulting sounds make known as waveform allowing us to visualize something that we can only hear. This visual representation of sound waves resembles my project because of the soft curves of boutique hotel.

THE BIRTH OF VENUS
The original painting entitled, “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli painted in 1486 influenced my replication of the masterpiece. The original painting used tempera on canvas, while my version used acrylic painting on hundred percent cotton canvas. This work of art represents love and beauty since it depicts the goddess Venus who was considered to be the most beautiful of goddesses. She is standing on the sea-shore as a full grown attractive woman. The original painting also has a mysterious side to it. For example, critiques noted that her pose is impossible since her weight is shifted too far over the left leg and she is standing on the shell which would in real life tip over. Regarding the shell, it was believed that the sea shell was a metaphor for a woman’s vulva.
WATERHOUSE A MERMAID
“Waterhouse a Mermaid by John William was published in 1901 by the Royal Academy of Arts in London, England. The original painting used oil on canvas, while my imitation was done using acrylic on canvas. The mermaid in the painting is a depiction of a beautiful mermaid combing her hair. In European folklore, mermaids and mermen were natural beings who had magical and prophetic powers. They loved music and often sang. Mermaids lived long but were still mortal. When I was creating my version of the original masterpiece, I focused on recreating the emotion of the original painting and making the colors accurate and vivid.
IR IS
While my visit to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, I was inspired to draw an artwork of an Iris flower, where I used Caran D’Ache Swiss made top quality water-soluble color pencils. I wanted to express my viewpoint at the particular moment on the beauty of nature in general as well as that flower. The mesmerizing colors, the smooth curves, the interesting depths and shape have lead me to try to recreate on paper what I have witnessed in real life in that Botanical Garden. I decided to enlarge the scale of the flower in order to portray the magnificence of the Iris. The background in orange resembles the sun’s rays.
