Eco Armatures is First Place Award-Winning project at New York Institute of Technology, FALL 2012. New system of green armatures are created in the form of informal pathways, rain gardens, and permeable utilitarian structures, and sustainable buildings, productive and riparian landscapes. The informal pathways take advantage of underutilized spaces and lots in between residences to create a new pedestrian street, connecting the community to the river while bigger lots form enclaves which help purify the river by collecting and filtering water from roof run off. The Eco Armatures out of the river in the form of strips that evolve from water into riparian landscape, productive landscape, sustainable program which are connected to the informal pathways with sustainable buildings to provide housing, shops and activities to the river. It features various typologies to enrich the area socially, economically, and ecologically.
