IF Profs was launched! On a lancé IF Profs! Alexandru Mîţă
The European coordinator of the Erasmus+ KA2 partnership “Comics in teaching languages/La BD en classe de langues” participated, the 10th of March 2016 at the French Institute from Bucharest, to the Festivity organized for launching IFprofs – a complex global social platform, created by the French Institute and intended to all French teachers and learners. The link between our strategic partnership and IFProfs is the following: our project has its own space now on IFProfs portal and will be better promoted in Romania, in Europe and worldwide through this facility. A new community on IFprofs was born, ours, entitled La BD en classe de FLE and it will spread from now on all the project products intended for French teachers! E2 Educa tor Exchange #Hack The Classroom 2016, Budapest Antonis Antoniou Dear Friends, it was a unique opportunity for me to participate in the Microsoft E2 Educator Exchange #HackTheClassroom which took place in Budapest between the 8th and 10th of March 2016, having been selected from thousands of educators worldwide to join a group of over 300 educators representing over 75 countries. I was delighted to be welcomed to Microsoft’s Educator Exchange event where the most innovative educators from around the world came together and shared expertise in integrating technology and pedagogy to advance learning and transform education. During the event I had the opportunity to learn, collaborate, teach and inspire. I also had the opportunity to be exposed to some of Microsoft’s latest technologies and to share and learn about the ways in which my fellow E2 educators are driving transformation in their own classrooms. I also had the opportunity to learn about a number of innovative approaches to learning enabled by technology and to find out about various favorite ways to Hack the Classroom as well as to learn more about Minecraft and other game-based learning opportunities.
As an added bonus I had the great privilege of receiving an important award: the Group Challenge Class Hack Award: Minimize 2nd Runner Up. Alexandru Mîţă K a s ta m o n u , A p r i l 2 0 1 6 - t h e 2 n d transnational reunion of the project Between 25 to 29 April 2016, was held in Kastamonu (Turkey), the second transnational mobility of the Erasmus + "Comics in Teaching Languages / La BD en classe de langues"KA2 strategic partnership, coordinated by "Mihail Kogalniceanu" High School Vaslui. In this international meeting, hosted by the partner institution, Kastamonu Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, the oldest high school technological high schools in Turkey, participated the representatives of each institution in the project (coordinator and a person from the project team); the Romanian coordinating team was represented by Cătălin Ignat, the official representative of the institution "Mihail Kogalniceanu" High School, together with the project coordinator, Alexander Mîţă and Gianina Romaşcu teacher, member of the project team.
The strengths of this mobility were the sessions dedicated to project management and a series of tests and demonstrations of the Learning Management System - intellectual product of the project. It was organized a regional seminar with teachers of English, where there have been demonstrations of the Learning Management System functions. Of course the evaluation, the brainstorming sessions, the discussions about future issues of the magazine "Scaramouche" (a very appreciated final product of the project) and workshops for transforming comics created by students in e-learning tools were in the center of the activities. Alexandru Mîţă K a s ta m o n u , a p r i l i e 2 0 1 6 - c e a d e - a d o u a m o b i l i ta t e t r a n s n a ţ i o n a l ă a p r o i e c t u l u i În perioada 25-29 aprilie 2016, s-a desfăşurat la Kastamonu (Turcia), cea de-a doua mobilitate transnaţională a Parteneriatului Strategic Erasmus+ “Comics in Teaching Languages/La BD en classe de langues”, coordonat de Liceul Teoretic “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Vaslui. Au participat la această reuniune internaţională, găzduită de instituţia parteneră, Kastamonu Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, cel mai vechi liceu cu profil tehnologic din Turcia, reprezentanţii fiecărei instituţii din proiect (coordonatorul şi o persoană din echipa de proiect), iar din partea coordonatorului român au participat reprezentantul oficial al instituţiei, profesor Cătălin Ignat, directorul Liceului Teoretic « Mihail Kogălniceanu » alături de coordonatorul proiectului, profesor Alexandru Mîţă şi de profesor Gianina Romaşcu, membru al echipei de proiect. Punctele forte ale acestei mobilităţi au fost reprezentante de şedinţele dedicate managementului de proiect şi de o serie de teste şi demonstraţii ale Sistemului de Management al Învăţării – produsul intelectual al proiectului. A fost organizat şi un seminar regional, cu profesorii de limba engleză, în cadrul căruia s-au făcut demonstraţii ale funcţionării Sistemului de Management al Învăţării. Desigur, nu au lipsit evaluarea, sesiunile de brainstorming, discuţiile despre viitoarele numere ale revistei “Scaramouche” (un al produs final foarte apreciat al proiectului) şi atelierele de transformare a benzilor desenate create de elevi în instrumente electronice de învăţare. Big DEOR Event National Translations Contest “Corneliu M. Popescu”, 2016 edition The 13th edition of the National Translations Contest "Corneliu M. Popescu" was organized on May 28, 2016 at "Mihail Kogălniceanu" High School in Vaslui (the written test) and online, on the Learning Management System (LMS) - the intellectual product of the Erasmus + strategic partnership "Comics in Teaching Languages / La BD en classe de langues" http://lang-platform.eu/lms coordinated by the highschool.
We can say that it was an edition of all records: nearly 350 students participating to the written test in Vaslui, contestants coming from from all over the country, with an online version containing a real intellectual challenge - the participants were invited to acquainted with the new learning Management System (there were created for all the participants new accounts and passwords, neither more nor less than 695 students from all Romania, guided by 140 teachers). To keep in touch with these passionate modern languages learners and with their teachers, we have created instructions, tutorials and regulations and everything was "put on rails" to "go smoothly" - on the new platform LMS and with the subjects at the written exam this year, adding a touch of fantasy and creativity, valuing the participants in the spirit of the strategic partnership Erasmus + KA2 "Comics in Teaching Languages / La BD en classe de langues" - umbrella under which the competition was conceived; more precisely, it has introduced a new subject, consisting of a translation of one comic, from a modern language in Romanian, a third topic added to the other two - literary translations from Romanian into the foreign language and vice versa. We had the following sections: French language, English language, Spanish language, Italian language, Russian language for the written test and French, English and Spanish for the online contest. The ages of the participants - from 10 to 19 years old, divided into 4 categories (juniors 1-2-3 and Seniors).

T uBr ikgi sDhEPOrR ojE e cvte n Te t a- m K a s ta N amt ioonnua,l ATpr ar inl s2l 0 a1 t i6o n- sE x Choinbtiet isot n o f Co moi cr n s ePl iruo dMu. cPe o d pbeys ct h “C ue ” , Tu 2 0r1k6i sehdP i tui opni l s The 13th edition of the contest introduced a new team for organizing the contest, made up of volunteers - students aged 14-16 years old, of the bilingual profile from IXth D grade (bilingual French-Italian, specializing in social sciences) and Xth C grade (bilingual French-English - natural sciences), the direct beneficiaries of the Strategic Partnership Erasmus + KA2 "Comics in Teaching Languages / La BD en classe de langues" who achieved with selfless and professionalism all the missions they have been entrusted by meeting with enthusiasm specific tasks so that they facilitated the communication between the participants and the teachers from the organizing committee from filming and picturing to uploading data in apps, and using logistics for the smooth running of action. We were very happy to receive guests from far away - not only neighbors from the departments of Neamt, Suceava, Iasi and Bacau, but also from Braila, Constanta, Bucharest or ... even Maramures! The online massive participation forced us to a total upgrade, in order to not record some server failure during competition. Of course, no such thing happened! And in online, we had actually present all the country! We received very concrete support of the French Institute in Bucharest and of the Agregaduría de Educación of the Spanish Embassy, of the clubs Kiwanis and Lions (Vaslui subsidiaries) in order to provide prizes for all sections. We thank them all very much for all their effort! The electronic learning management system (LMS) http://lang-platform.eu/lms remains at the free disposal of the competitors and their teachers, which were created special individual access accounts; there will be new courses (we have already started "Le français par la BD", "English through comics", "L'histoire de la BD", "Fumetti nell'insegnamento della lingua italiana " ... a total of 13 online interactive courses which can be sources of inspiration for optional subjects or educational materials - support for modern language classes). The 2017 online edition of "Translations contest" will also be organized here ... and many other events. All the institutions that have sent students into the competition will be proposed to continue to be part of a consortium implementing the project results ... A new DEOR event of our KA2 project took place on 20th of May 2016, in Vaslui, when “Comics in Teaching Languages/La BD en classe de langues” was presented to a public of kindergarten teachers from all Romania, in the frame of the National Symposium “Fantasy and Color”, organized by Kindergarten no. 15 from Vaslui, member of the DEOR Consortium of “Comics in Teaching Languages/La BD en classe de langues”. Even
the theme of the Symposium, “Fantasy and Color”, was inspired by our project: the very little children aged from 2 to 6 years old created fabulous comics “Letters to the Seasons” of many meters length, painted by these little artists for creating stories about their favorite activities during the most appreciated period of the year, as seen with their little eyes. We offer you a gallery with these magnificent paintings which covered the walls of the Kindergarten, the day of the event.

International Symposium - Bârlad, 13th – 14th of May 2016 We participated to the International Symposium “"Intercultural and interdisciplinary approaches, necessary demarches of the contemporary learning process", organized by our DEOR Consortium partner of the KA2 strategic partnership, the Technological High School “Petru Rareş” from Bârlad, Romania. The launching festivity event was organized at “Victor Ion Popa” Theater from Bârlad, a magnificent edifice which was just rebuilt, rearranged and reopen for the public in September 2015: many talented pupils demonstrated their special talents – the choral “Fantasia”, guitar groups, theater troupe, soloists, dance ensembles... Officials pronounced relevant speeches about the question of interculturality in the education provided by schools nowadays and a little ceremony of awarding prizes for the best pupils of the organizing institution.
In the second part of the Symposium, our project was presented to the participants to the scientific reunion. We offer you have a gallery with some interesting pictures of the event.

The International Symposium for the Regional Gymnasium of Livadia - Cyprus Intergenerational Education - an important DEOR event in the life of the KA2 partnership The 8th of April 2016 was organized in the frame of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership “Comics in Teaching Languages / La BD en classe de langues”, a very important scientific event which combined the dissemination and the exploitation of the project’s results, the work of pupils and teachers from all the institutions involved in the partnership, the functioning of the regional Consortium for implementing the project: the International Symposium for Intergenerational Education, organized together with the School Inspectorate, “Alexandra Nechita” School (principals Alina Moraru and Vladimir Baban) and with the support of many local and regional institutions (City Hall of Vaslui, CJRAE Vaslui, House of Didactic Body Vaslui, the Departmental library Vaslui, the Prefecture of Vaslui – all the institutions that are participating in the Consortium for the project’s implementation). The international partners of the project joined this effort and presented high-level scientific and project management contributions: “Comics in Portugal” – by the project team of Barreiro; “Teaching with Comics in Vialonga” – by the project team of Vialonga – Portugal; “The Role of the Culture in the Study of a Foreign Language” – by the project team of Frosinone – Italy; “The KA2 strategic partnership in the frame of Microsoft E2 Educator Exchange Hack The Classroom 2016 Budapest” – by Antonis Antoniou, the project coordinator of the Cyprus team; “The Usage Of Culturel Heritage in Comics” is the title of the scientific paper of Kastamonu project team from Turkey, lead by Ilker Aricioglu, the project coordinator. The International Symposium was honored by the presence of His Excellency, the Educative Attaché of the Spanish Embassy, Vicente Lopez Bréa-Fernandez, the great friend of Vaslui County, specialist in languages and in new technologies, who declared himself very proud to be here, in Vaslui, for the 3rd time – and to assist at the positive events of the language teachers, to admire the talent and the competences of the participating pupils and the quality of the products. The International Symposium for the Intergenerational Education - an important DEOR event in the life of the KA2 partnership The Comics Magazine “Scaramouche” – the first 3 numbers - officially launched with this occasion was really appreciated and admired by all the pupils and the teachers present in the conference room. Big stories, high quality of the comics, beautiful colors and high class print quality were valued as forming a professional product and it was said that the next numbers are impatiently waited by all the categories of public. The special website of the magazine – http://www.lang-platform.eu/scaramouche - was also launched, and the magazine can be read online, in flash dynamic format or downloaded on the personal computer or device, in *pdf special format with thumbnails. The Learning Management System (LMS) of the partnership – the Intellectual Output of the project was also presented in a first version from the side of the users – pupils that described in French their experiences as beneficiaries of this interesting and powerful learning instrument proposed by the conceivers of the Erasmus+ project. Another event was the official launching of the Didactic Magazine “Clepsidre/ Hourglasses” – in a special format dedicated to the event, containing all the contributions of the indirect section participants. The volume has over 880 pages and almost 500 contributors from 36 (of the 41) departments (judeţe) of Romania, and from the 5th foreign partner institutions. The main moments of the Symposium were the following presentations: the project coordinator, Alexandru Mîţă spoke about “The Strategic Partnership Eramus+ KA2” and about “What is LMS, the Intellectual Output of the KA2?”. Than after, the Spanish teachers presented their scientific communications: Gabriela Tofan – „La enseñanza des lenguaje especializado a los alumnos que no estudian el espanol como lengua extranjera” and Bogdan Nedelcu - "Mi experiencia de enseñar español". The Romanian language and literature teachers from the coordinating institution, presented their studies: Laura Mihaela Munteanu – „Impactul benzii desenate asupra predării limbii şi literaturii române la nivel gimnazial? The impact of the Comics on Teaching Romanian Language and Literature in the General School” and Florin Munteanu – „Banda desenată în aprofundarea literaturii/ The Comics in Deepening the Literature”.

The French teachers from LMK Vaslui were also present with the following contributions: Lola Ciolacu - «La bande dessinée et les stratégies de motivation en classe de FLE» and Cristina Borţun – „La bande dessinée pour débutants”. The History teacher Carmen Cătălina Alexa spoked then on „BD, caricaturile, animaţia şi rolul lor în propaganda din cel de-al doilea război mondial / The Comics, the cartoons and their role in the World War propaganda”. All the room enjoyed the presentations of the invited pupils from “Mihail Kogăniceanu” High School on the theme of their work and contributions to the “Comics in Teaching Languages/La BD en classe de langues” strategic partnership: from the 10th C grade (bilingual French – natural sciences) spoke the pupils Țuchendrea Cosmin, State Bianca, Răileanu Paul Alexandru, Arsene Andrei, Cordaş Dora, Bazon Andreea. From the 9th D (bilingual French – social sciences) participated Dobrovolschi Ioana, Moise Lorelei, Ouatu Denisa, Neacşu Radu. 10th A grade (informatics-math) were represented by the creators of „Rosalinda” comics series, Năstase Tudor Florin and Scurtu Bianca – “Rosalinda”. The representative of 11th D form, Aelenei Andreea-Ioana spoke about “Les BDs et la créativité”; Luca Laura from the 11th F form, brought important details on «La bande dessinée - la même joie pour les différentes générations». The 9th B class has Mazga Andreea as representative, to talk on - « La B.D. dans la vie des adolescents » Finally, all the audience was impressed, just as the foreign partners of the project, by the comics “Twists” and by the presentation of the creative process by the authors from 11th B form, Cireş Mara and Budianu Vlăduţ.

The International Symposium for the Intergenerational Education - an important DEOR event in the life of the KA2 partnership The teachers from “Alexandra Nechita” had also very interesting presentations about their didactic activity: they spoke about the kindergarten of the school and its importance, about the pedagogic tendencies in working with special needs pupils; about the perception we have concerning teaching and even about how to simulate a volcano activity. The event was also created by the artistic groups of the hosting school “Alexandra Nechita”: School Theater, poetical theater dances, songs (popular and modern), ballet from the very little age to 8th form pupils. The best students of the school were awarded with special diplomas for recognizing their efforts and the value of their contributions to the school ethos. The Symposium was sincerely appreciated by all the participants and we hope that, by the mean of the documentary movie and of the pictures gallery, you will come aboard and you will have the opportunity to live exactly the same emotions as the participants from this beautiful spring day of 8th of April.

Kogalniceanu” Vaslui Dacă în învăţământul tradiţional, principalele metode le constituie conversaţia, expunerea, demonstraţia, toate centrate pe profesor, învăţământul modern solicită aplicarea metodelor active şi interactive care dezvoltă gândirea critică a elevilor şi-i transformă din receptori pasivi ai informaţiei transmise în actanţi ai procesului didactic. Aplicarea acestor metode care generează învăţarea activă şi prin care elevii sunt iniţiaţi în gândirea critică nu este simplă, ci necesită timp, răbdare, exerciţiu şi este de preferat să se facă de la vârste fragede, la toate disciplinele, însă cu măsură. Acestea trebuie să fie selectate şi utilizate în mod riguros, creativ, în funcţie de obiectivele propuse, de specifcul grupului educaţional şi nu trebuie să constituie un trend sau un moft al cadrului didactic. Didactica actuală pune accent pe îmbinarea stilurilor de învăţare vizual, auditiv şi practic. Banda desenată satisface cu succes exigenţele stilului vizual, întrucât procesarea informaţiei se face prin utilizarea de imagini, diagrame, grafice şi tabele, iar elevii preferă acest stil. Avantajele utilizării benzilor desenate în procesul predării disciplinei limba şi literatura română constau într-o învăţare eficientă. Elevii reuşesc să vorbească repede, devin buni organizatori, observă în special detaliile mediului (elementele fizice, materiale, concrete), reţin mai repede ceea ce au văzut, decât ceea ce au auzit, preferă să citească singuri un text, nu să li se citească. Profesorul este cel care creează mediul educaţional favorabil, stimulativ şi interesant pentru învăţare în clasă, iar elevul este cel care aduce ceva din viaţa lui, din afara şcolii, din ciclul preşcolar sau experienţa lui de viaţă. În cadrul orelor de limba şi literatura română, se pot folosi o multitudine de metode care să stârnească interesul copiilor. Printre acestea se pot utiliza şi metode ale gândirii critice. Elevii citesc cu plăcere orice text dacă li se orientează atenţia, curiozitatea şi interesul faţă de acesta. De cele mai multe ori, aceste metode îi solicită pe elevi să formuleze întrebări referitoare la text, întrebări care să-i pună în dificultate pe colegii lor în căutarea răspunsurilor. Nici unii, nici ceilalţi nu ar reuşi să facă acest lucru, dacă nu ar citi textul cu atenţie. Animaţia îi cuprinde şi atunci când întrebarea pusă are mai multe soluţii. Uneori, metodele îi antrenează în citirea pe roluri, prin dramatizări, prin organizarea şi distribuirea rolurilor în echipă, precum şi prin folosirea unui vocabular propriu în replicile lor. Dezbaterea unor probleme care îi interesează, folosind argumente ”pro” şi “contra”, îi ajută să decidă dacă acceptă sau nu valorile şi ipotezele din text. Una din metodele care poate fi folosită în cadrul orelor de limba şi literatura română şi care implică utilizsarea benzilor desenate este “Jurnalul dublu”. Folosindu-l, elevii pot observa că un text poate fi redat prin imagini şi invers. De aici elevul îşi formează deprinderi de a împărţi textul în fragmente, folosirea unei imagini în locul unui fragment şi invers. Obişnuiţi cu redarea textului prin benzi desenate, ei constată că un text are un început (introducerea), o continuare a acestui început (cuprinsul) şi apoi încheierea textului (sfârşitul), realizând că textul nu poate fi lipsit de una dintre aceste părţi. Pentru a aplica această metodă, copiii trebuie să-şi împartă pagina în două coloane, trasând o linie verticală pe mijloc. În partea stângă se pot nota citate, fragmente, desene, benzi desenate, iar în partea dreaptă le vor comenta, vor justifica alegerea făcută, vor scrie ce i-a determinat să facă această alegere. Pot nota, de asemenea, impresii, sentimente, păreri, întrebări pe care şi le-au pus atunci când au făcut alegerea sau dacă le-a fost impusă, pot să-şi spună părerea pro sau contra în legătură

Această metodă se poate aplica atât la textele în proză, cât şi la cele în versuri, pentru că le dă posibilitatea elevilor să exprime prin cuvintele lor tot ceea ce cred, simt, ştiu, gândesc şi înţeleg despre text, fragment. La rândul său, profesorul are privilegiul de a furniza materiale vizuale într-o varietate grafică. Se poate folosi de scheme, fişe, schiţe rezumative uşor de citit şi înţeles. Pentru conceperea acestora se foloseşte de întreaga varietate tehnologică: computer, videoproiector, camera de filmat, fotografia, net etc. Utilizată preponderent la clasele mici, în gimnaziu, banda desenată se foloseşte ca material auxiliar în predarea şi receptarea unor specii ale genului epic precum: basmul, schiţa, fabula în alcătuirea unor instrumente de lucru: fişe atractive ce presupun învăţarea prin joc sau metode didactice ca „Ciorchinele” sau „Explozia stelară”. În cadrul orelor de literatură din liceu banda desenată poate apărea la unitatea de învăţare Aventură.Călătorie şi Personalităţi. Exemple. Modele la clasa a IX a sau la romanul grafic ca un gen al benzii desenate serios, ambițios care se adresează unui public matur sau în curs de maturizare, așa cum este cel format din elevii de liceu, în sensul că abordează subiecte sociale grave, dificile de asimilat de către copii. Amestecul de cuvinte și imagini îl obligă pe elev să-și exerseze simultan abilitățile interpretative, vizuale și verbale. Cuvintele sunt redate ca imagini pe tot parcursul paginii, iar imaginile devin textualizate, ceea ce îndepărtează structura comunicativă de citirea tradițională și o integrează fenomenului transmedia (control, impact, context). Relația cuvânt- imagine/semnificație - referent se reorientează spre domeniul dorinței autorului. Elevii au privilegiul de a citi romanul în forma lui grafică, de a urmări filmul și de a iniția dezbateri pe teme ca: familia, școala, credința, prietenii, experiențele prin care a trecut protagonistul și pe care cititorii le raportează la propria lor experiență. În contextul activității didactice elevii au posibilitatea să-și completeze jurnale de lectură, la fel de incitante precum cartea. Își notează impresiile de lectură, își imaginează că sunt jurnaliști și adresează întrebări autoarilor despre aspectele care i-au nedumerit în carte, pot propune la rândul lor desene (simboluri, personaje sau figuri geometrice) care să surprindă ce li s-a părut esențial în fiecare capitol, pot interpreta desene asociate cu mărturisirile autoarilor sau pot compara cele două lumi în care trăiește autoarea, cu lumea lor. În concluzie, forma aceasta de literatură strânge un număr foarte mare de fani, grafica narativă oferă audienței o noutate în ce privește percepția existenței. Prin modul în care banda desenată combină metodele formale specifice cu semantica mesajului se cristalizeaza conceptul de arta secvențială.Ca sugestii de mijloace didactice care implică folosirea benzii desenate, demne de semnalat sunt: posterele, colajele jocurile cu postit-uri, puzzel-uri, fişele de lucru etc. Metodele şi tehnicile active şi interactive au avantaje şi dezavantaje. Dezvoltarea gândirii critice, caracterul formativ şi informativ, valorificarea experienţei proprii a elevilor, determinarea lor de a căuta şi dezvolta soluţii la diverse probleme, evidenţierea modului propriu de înţelegere, climatul antrenant, relaxat, bazat pe colaborarea, încrederea respectul dintre profesor şi elev sau dintre elevi sunt câteva dintre avantajele metodelor şi tehnicilor active care fac din lecţie o aventură a cunoaşterii, în care copilul participă activ după propriile puteri. Dintre dezavantaje putem menţiona pe cele de ordin evaluativ, temporal, material, de proiectare, deoarece se creează agitaţie în rândul elevilor, necesită introducerea de elemente de creativitate pentru a evita monotonia sau repetiţia.
