THE MANTRA MARKETING

Quarterly Review

You recently returned from the new office in Russia - how are things going there? Our results in Russia have been incredible. Since the new office opened up, they have grown 300% and are absolutely smashing it, breaking records every single week.

Why so much success in Russia? We’re taking our best practices that we have in Europe and implementing them into a country that is further behind in the direct sales industry. That gives us a big advantage. Plus, the work ethic of Russian people is phenomenal. I work hard, but when I work with them I’m astounded.

And how about Spain?

Whats been going on for Mantra this past quarter?

We’re picking up steam in Spain with more new offices in Reus and Granada, both of which have demonstrated impressive growth. The Granada office has grown by 10 people within only 10 weeks. We

Mantra has truly had an incredible quarter. Spain and Russia have showed impressive progression, and we are due to see offices

opening in the UK. We have offices soon to be opening in Southampton and Plymouth. We also saw Dan Armour and Lewis Cook receive full ownership of their companies and start their new owner training. In other news, Rob Cotterell just returned from Australia where he was learning about one of our new products, Fast Wax. He is now going to begin testing it here in the UK, so I’m looking forward to seeing how that unfolds.

What do you think is playing the biggest role in Mantra’s growth right now? We’ve got a really a strong recruitment and administration team at the moment, and we’ve started to bring a lot more new people through, especially in the UK and Spain. Right now we are focussing heavily on the grassroots of our business and have been working to really nurture and train our new staff. For example, Rebeca and Óscar have been implementing monthly New Leaders Meetings in Spain to make sure we’re always involved with the newer people in our business.

What is your biggest growth constraint? As an organisation, we need to be more aggressive with headhunting and recruiting. We currently have so many cities and countries that we’d like to open offices in but we simply lack the people to do that yet.

continued..

What kind of environment helps your staff thrive and how do you create that? Fun, dynamic, and energetic. I’ve been doing this for 16 years and I’ve had a riot from day one. But there’s definitely a method behind our madness. If people see us enjoying what we do and we’re really passionate about it and in love with it, it really reflects well on our business.

How has Mantra been keeping the team motivated? We have lots of office nights, weekly dinners out, and karaoke nights sometimes. We love to put on events to keep people motivated and excited for the future. In fact, we actually just held our 2015 Annual Rally, and some other events. But just our daily office life is fun. We keep things relaxed, and informal but we work really hard.

What is Mantra looking forward to right now? Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how things go with Fast Wax. We’ve also had a bunch of new people opening offices in the UK and Spain, and it will be exciting to see what they have up their sleeves for the next six months. And of course, since it seems like things couldn’t be going better in Russia, I’m looking forward to seeing the results there as time goes on.

Anything you’d like to say to your team for this next quarter? Be the best you can be. This is our most productive time of year, so let’s seize the moment and we should see the fruits of our labour within the next six months.

MAINTAINING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Healthy Living for Professionals

With meetings to attend, deadlines to hit, and post-work cocktails to drink, it can be difficult for working professionals to incorporate a good diet and plenty of exercise into their busy lives. But with a little strategy, you can strike the perfect balance between your health, happiness, and work. Being healthy is important to us at Mantra, and we want our entire team to know that we value their wellbeing. Some of us have been in this business for a while, and we’d like to offer you some of our top tips on balancing a busy lifestyle with good health.

“Consuming mostly natural, unprocessed foods is one of the most effective ways of staying healthy”

24

25

maintaining a healthy diet doesn’t mean you can’t have fun on a night out

Eat Clean! Consuming mostly natural, unprocessed foods is one of the most effective ways of staying healthy. Highly processed foods like crisps, fizzy drinks, most breakfast cereals, and white bread are often depleted of important nutrients and are infused with excessive amounts of salt, sugar, fat, and preservatives. Since processed foods are low in fiber and essential nutrients, they can prevent you from feeling full, leading to overeating.

Try shopping at local markets to pick up fresh, raw foods at a good price and cook them yourself. You could even try creating a garden and growing your own food! Going all-natural can be difficult at first, but over time you won’t look back!

Cook....a lot! Instead of going out for lunch every day, cook in bulk and bring a serving to the office for lunch. You can also freeze portions and eat them later on in the week (especially with foods like soup). This way you can cut down on cooking time while being healthy and saving money!

Minimise Damage at the Bars! Drink Water!

Just because you’re trying to maintain a healthy diet doesn’t mean you can’t have fun on a night out. Look

coffee dehydrates your system.

You already wake up early and there’s so much you’d rather do at night than head to the gym – it may seem like setting aside time for a workout is just out of the question. Actually though, with just a little bit of thought and planning you can make your lifestyle a lot more active. It’s possible to have an excellent workout in just about 20 minutes if you focus on high intensity exercises. Also, try to up the intensity of daily physical tasks: take the stairs instead of the lift, bike at least part way to the office, or do some sit ups while you watch TV. Do any kind of activity you can to get your blood flowing and your heart rate racing. It is certainly better than nothing!

26

27

Remember Breakfast Common reasons for not eating breakfast: ‘I don’t have time’, ‘I’m not hungry in the mornings’, or ‘I am trying to lose weight’. Guess what – none of these justify skipping the most important meal of the day! If you find yourself short on time every morning, then toss some yoghurt, veggies, fresh fruit and frozen berries into a blender at night – stick it in the fridge and blend it up in the morning. It’s like magic - A 30-second, ultra-nutritious breakfast you can take with you on your way to work! Not hungry in the mornings? Perhaps you’re eating dinner too late at night. And contrary to what many people think, eating in the morning actually helps you maintain a healthy weight by boosting your metabolism all day.

Sleep The importance of a good night’s sleep simply cannot be overstated.

Sleeping is essential

to heal your body and keep your mind sharp. Always make sure you get at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. If you usually have trouble relaxing at night, try shutting off your computer, phone, and television screens an hour beforehand to calm your mind.

28

29

Bucket Lists We all have wishes, ambitions, and hopes for the future. A bucket list is a great way to actually make those things happen. We sat down with a couple members of our administration team to see what is on their bucket lists.

“I encourage the guys in the office to set up a bucket list too. Goals are so important

gether a month-by-month plan for herself, outlining her personal and business goals. So far, Ellie’s bucket list has allowed her to check off a hefty amount of travel, having visited Paris, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Malaysia, Poland, Edinburgh, Barcelona and Thailand (where she rode an elephant). After this year’s admin team Christmas holiday to Germany, she’ll be able to add yet another country to the list! This quarter, Ellie has already gone to Gran Canaria, followed the Shaun the Sheep trail, attended Arcadia Spectacular, the Bristol Harbour Festival, and the Rugby World Cup. In terms of business, she aimed to recruite 10 quality new-starters in one week – and she’s done that too. Talk about a busy lifestyle! What’s next? Ellie tells us so far that she intends to give blood, and complete the Bath-to-Bristol cycle trail.

KEVIN NASH MANTRA MARKETING GROUP Although Kev is excellent at meeting business goals, he only started setting personal goals recently when he was inspired after reading a blog about the personal benefits of bucket lists. Just for this year, Kev has planned 10 things he wants to accomplish for himself. On top of the list was baking a cake for the first time ever. Now that he’s finally done it, he loves baking and considers it his new hobby (we’re happy about this because he brings cakes into the office for us on Mondays). Other accomplishments from Kevin’s 2015 list include: purchasing a quality camera, booking a photography course, visiting Stonehenge, and he was even able to check off his goal of visiting Italy when he had a business trip to Milan. For those who adore travelling, Kevin gives some great advice: “I coordinate work trips with my travel goals. For example, there will be opportunities with admin to visit Thailand next year, so I’m going to add Thailand to my list!” Sounds like a solid plan! Still left on this year’s list, Kev would like to travel somewhere completely alone, ride on a hot air balloon, visit Paris, and give 50 pints of blood (he’s on his 49th…only one more to go)!

Wishes, ambitions & hope for the future. We caught up with Ellie and Kev to see what it is that drives them.

Since then, we’ve brought Fast Wax back to the UK, becoming the first FW1 vendors in the country. Rob Coterell, who has just celebrated his two-year anniversary as RedSeven’s Managing Director, was down in Australia only a few months ago to have the first look at the products. While he was there, he was chosen by FW1 to actually lead the first testing and sales of Fast Wax in the UK. Rob returned to Australia in August, this time bringing a team of Nick, Mo, and Brett, in order to really solidify their knowledge of FW1 and the techniques for how it is sold. Australia was fantastic as always – the team first stopped off in Perth to learn the product inside-out from successful Australian marketing companies who sell it, and practiced selling the product residentially. They then flew cross-country to Sydney where they learned the top-performing techniques for selling Fast Wax in commercial settings like events, shopping centres, and fuel stations. Although the boys worked hard, they were still able to do some touring and enjoy themselves. They visited the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, toured around Darling Harbour, and had plenty of opportunities for socializing and networking over amazing dinners and drinks. All in all, it was an extraordinary trip packed full of productivity, fun, and excitement for the future.

FW1 UK About Fast Wax: FW1 is a high performance aerosol cleaning wax that completely cleans and protects your vehicle without requiring a drop of water. Not only is FW1 a more effective cleaning agent than water (being able to remove grease, tar, grime, mildew, and tree sap within just a few seconds), but it can also actually revive the paint colour of your vehicle and remove light scratches. FW1 is applied by just spraying it onto the surface you’d like to clean, rubbing it in, and then shining it off. Easy. And it works really, really well which is why it brings in the substantial sales that it does. We are massive fans of FW1 because it is excellent for the environment – with 32 litres of water to wash the average car once, Fw1 has saved 60 billions of gallons of water over the past 5 years. And being completely free from silicones, teflons, and CFCs, using Fast Wax is an environmentally friendly choice.

The excitement only continued upon returning

four weeks, which performed exceptionally well.

Just by demonstrating the product at the Autumn Classic, the team pulled in about £1,500 in sales before the clock struck noon.

Right now, RedSeven has a lot to look

RedSeven currently has three teams demonstrating the product at fuel stations and outlet villages around the UK, both of which are proving to be highly performing venues for sales. The team that Rob has selected to work with Fast Wax is loving it – since they’ve previously worked only on behalf of charities, selling a physical product is a nice change of pace and requires a very practical sales pitch.

forward to Right now, RedSeven has a lot to look forward to. Not only are they the first company in the UK to sell this lucrative product, but their efforts are delivering even better than anticipated. Not to mention, we will be sending the top performing team members to the FW1 R&R event in Hawaii in the coming months!

RUSSIA GREENPEACE VISIT Greenpeace invited one of their legends, Rien Achterberg, to visit the Z Marketing office last month in order to meet with our fundraisers and volunteers. Greenpeace first made world headlines after one of their first ships, the Rainbow Warrior, was bombed by French special agents during nuclear testing in Auckland Harbour with a crew of 12 volunteers onboard - including Mr. Achterberg. After this event, donations poured in for Greenpeace making it one of the largest charities in the world. Despite the tragic event, Rien Achterberg thinks of the ship proudly, reminding us of the fact that it met the highest environmental standards in the shipbuilding industry. To this day, he still wears a bracelet made from the sunken remains of the Rainbow Warrior. The Greenpeace visit kicked off with an introduction for Mr. Achterberg, followed by a viewing of a documentary about the story of Greenpeace. We then held a direct question and answer session with Mr. Achterberg, after which he asked our fundraisers some quiz questions and gave away Greenpeace merchandise as prizes! Afterwards, the Z Marketing team had a chance for an informal chat and group photos with Mr Achterberg and the Greenpeace members.

It was such an honour to have a living legend like Rien visit one of our offices and help our team to connect to with the wonderful charity that they represent. Our fundraisers absolutely loved him, and found him to be a very warm and down-toearth guy. It was a really fun event for all and our fundraisers are inspired and ready to move go out and smash it for this amazing cause.

S PA N I S H R E S T & R E L A X AT I O N

Last month, we took our top performing team members from each of division to Spain for a well-deserved R&R in order to reward them for going the extra mile this quarter. Everyone stayed at the luxurious Asian Garden Spa, an immaculate five star spa resort with five infinity pools, tropical gardens, and a relaxation area. Upon arrival, the team received an exclusive meeting with Appco Group Chairman Chris Niarchos, who gave his congratulations along with some words of wisdom regarding tricks of the trade and how to live like a top performer.

After getting settled in, there was a day of topics for owners and assistant owners, and then a catch up of all of the different divisions and the progress they have made this year. But the R&R wasn’t all serious business - the Mantra team had some free time, which they mostly spent relaxing in the pool and spa, luxuriating with a few glasses of wine. The Spanish locals from Mantra took the British team to play padel – a Spanish sport that is sort of a cross between tennis and squash. And of course, we can’t neglect mentioning the enjoyable private gala dinner with Chris Niarchos. Perhaps the pinnacle of the whole event was the Saturday night dinner celebration. From our restaurant on top of a skyscraper, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the sunset over the entire city of Benidorm while we celebrated our hard work with champagne, spectacular food, and laughter. James made a lovely toast to our Mantra family and our excellent performance as a company. After dinner we moved to the 20th floor terrace for some more drinks and dancing. So, that’s one more successful and enjoyable R&R event down. When you mix business with pleasure, work is a breeze!
