The UK Owners Meeting took place over the 29th & 30th January at the Hilton, in London, Wembley and served to set the strategy and mind-set for the year ahead.

Lewis has now advanced to Level Five of our Business Development Plan, becoming an Owner and Managing Director of 1080 Marketingcongratulations to Lewis and his admin team! We caught up with Lewis to see how he’s handling the role and what the future holds for 1080 Marketing.

Sounds amazing - How do you plan to achieve that?

I plan to use 1080 Marketing as a stepping stone into property.

What do you consider to be the biggest strengths of the team?

For my team, I think our biggest strengths are our combined efforts to represent 1080’s core values. Our core values are: loyalty, integrity,

I have always had a huge passion for snowboarding. ‘1080’ is a snowboarding move- I wanted the brand to represent and match my personality and what I stand for. hard-work, communication, positivity, honesty and partnership. I look for people who exhibit these personality traits to join the team. I believe that if you stick to the seven core values you will be successful not only just in business, but also in life.

What does the future look like for 1080 Marketing?

The team and I are concentrating on expansion and growth for the future. In the next 18 months, we plan to have offices in five different cities in the UK, working with a range of different clients. Once we have expanded in the UK, we will be looking to grow internationally. I plan to do this by continuing to develop my online presence through blogging and social media.

So, how has the last quarter been for Force SP?

Really incredible. Over the last quarter I have seen so much expansion and growth in the business. We have opened a new stunning office in the centre of Madrid- a new image for the team in a great environment. It has been a radical change, but the team at Force SP have pulled together to enable a smooth transition. We are working hard to streamline all aspects of the business post move: recruitment, administration, training… etc. The move has boosted morale and I feel we are in a better position than ever to hit all our goals.

Any personal goals you want to share?

I have been to New York recently, it was fantastic! I came back full of life and energy- everything moves so fast in the ‘big city’! I also plan on taking my family on a cruise around the Mediterranean to say thanks for all the support and love they’ve always shown me. Spanish Owners Meeting At the beginning of Q1, we combined the Spanish Owners meeting with a little R&R as a reward for continuing to work hard and achieving fantastic sales results over last quarter. Everyone stayed at the stunning four star hotel, Barceló Sants; well known for fantastic rooms and décor, beautiful views of the city and great customer service. As the team arrived, the weather matched everyone’s high spirits, peaking at 20 degrees. After everyone was checked in and settled, the Owners Meeting began with a get together to discuss practice amongst the owners, including tips and techniques to unify practice across the Spanish offices. James Buckley opened the meeting with an engaging introduction presentation. He later gave a talk about how to inspire and lead people, David Borras led the discussions in the Development Meeting. Oscar Martinez presented a powerful talk on how to be a good promoting owner, providing the group with tips on how to create solid relations. Rebeca Perez offered the group an insight into how she operates in relation to goals, planning, work ethic and intensity. James closed the meeting before the group headed off for dinner. With business dealt with, the team set off to have dinner at L’ Aquarium Barcelona. L’ Aquarium Barcelona specialise in providing personalised catering and entertainment events. The team were fortunate enough to be wined and dined in the the spectacular Oceanarium; an attraction unique to Europe and home to the largest number of different species of fish. The night was capped off with a stroll into central Barcelona for drinks and dancing. Yet another successful R&R event and Owners Meeting.

Sky is the limit with Oscar of Sky Marketing

" We’re very focused at Sky Marketing on consistent growth, in both a business and personal sense "

We caught up with Oscar Martinez, head of Sky Marketing based in Alicante, Spain, to see how Sky Marketing has been performing, the team’s achievements over the last quarter and a look to what the future holds.

Hi Oscar! How’s everything going for Sky Marketing?

Great thanks! Last quarter was one of our strongest at Sky Marketing. The team achieved their personal best in sales. We sold 160 pieces in one week. I am so proud of my team and appreciate all their combined efforts, putting in the hours to drive up the donors acquired.

What an achievement! Any other highlights over the last quarter?

Yes. We’ve had a recruitment growth to 30 in our office. We’re also retraining one of our owners, Eduardo Higueras, to reopen his office in Valencia. Also, Emilio has been promoted to Crew Leader.

Sounds like there’s been a lot of growth and progression at Sky Marketing Oscar.

We’re very focused at Sky Marketing on consistent growth, in both a business and personal sense.

Sounds very positive. What are your business goals over the next quarter?

I want to open another office in Murcia with Juan Lopez. I also want to work on developing my office and team in Alicante; ensuring that we maintain a 30 strong team generating sales of 100 pieces weekly. We are also implementing a new recruitment and contract system for the FR’s, which was one of the outcomes of the recent Owners Meeting. I want to be very involved in all aspects of the business to ensure the planned changes are executed organically. .

Change is on the horizon for Sky Marketing and the business generally then? Yes, these are very exciting times.

Catch up with Aparna Rakesh of Leela Promotions " I have a fantastic team at Leela; one of the consistently high performers is Steph. Steph has been with us for just over a year and has always promoted a strong work ethos, which emanates through the team at Leela "

It’s Q1, a New Year and time to catch up with one of our newest Business Owners, Appie. Appie is the first female Business Owner in the UK with Leela Promotions. We catch up with Appie to see how she’s been getting, her achievements to date and a look to what the future holds for her and the team at Leela.

How are things?

Great thanks. Last quarter I achieved my business goal of being promoted to Ownership. I also achieved my personal goal.

What was that?

I was able to send my parents on their first holiday alone since me and my sister were born. I sent them to Thailand because they have always wanted to go there. It felt amazing to be able to achieve one of my life long personal goals.

How has Leela been doing this quarter?

Really good! Leela has been performing consistently well. long personal goals.

Great to hear. Last time you spoke with Mantra Magazine, you were keen to move Leela to Cheltenham- how’s the move going?

Well, it’s not! I feel that Plymouth is the right place for the brand at this point in time. It works well with the product.

You told us last time that you were developing your brand logo- how was the logo received?

Really well! As I said last time, I wanted the logo and the business to reflect my personal inspiration in life- my grandmother. The brand logo is her thumb print with ‘LP’ over the top. Clients can see how much the brand logo means to me, which in turn demonstrates how much the business means to me. The logo is a testament to my passion and determination in business.

What’s Leela’s goals for the next quarter?

Me and the team at Leela are focused on growth and expansion over the next quarter. We are on track to bank £25,000 in our business account. I have a fantastic team at Leela; one of the consistently high performers is Steph. Steph has been with us for just over a year and has always promoted a strong work ethos, which emanates through the team at Leela. We are working towards Steph’s promotion to Team Leader.
