1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? The skills I have developed throughout this module include time management, working in a team, branding & identity practice, calligraphy, presentation skills and working under tight deadlines and masses of pressure. I feel like I have done a good job managing the above and have applied them to the relevant tasks within the module. I have also learned how to take payments from clients, in particularly ones I do not know well. I must always take a deposit to guarantee my own security as well as the seriousness and professionalism of the client.

2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process? I have definitely improved all of my software skills throughout these briefs even when creating my design boards. Software I have developed my practice in have been Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I have also taught myself to think outside the box and try more practical elements as well as things that you wouldn’t normally expect like in the Korn – Love & Meth brief.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these? I have definitely made my mark within this module with branding and identity. I feel that so far this is my biggest strength in graphic design and I look forward to trying new ways of developing well executed and contextually relevant identities. I would like to capitalise on things I don’t often practice such as packaging and application development. If digital is becoming more and more mixed into our lives I better move along with it.

4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future? The weaknesses I can identify in my work are in those I had to rush or those where I had the “client

is always right” situations. I would like to improve my presentation skills as well as communication methods to explain to clients why development and improvements are a good idea.

5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these? Things I would do next time include giving myself more time to develop ideas and pitches that have potential. In team-work I would be more forward and better with communication in respect to work that is done and work that must be done. From these, my practice will become more professional and I would excel in more areas of my outcomes and work ethics.

6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an ‘x’) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1 2 3 4 5 x Attendance x Punctuality x Motivation x Commitment x Quantity of work produced x Quality of work produced x Contribution to the group The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
