Natalie Escutia stands out among the rest of the all the other members because of all the time and effort she puts into Key Club. She continues to attend most of the Key Club events, and most importantly being one of the only members besides the officers to attend Project Greenlight this month. Natalie is a very kind, caring and spirited member of our club and demonstrates the behavior and spirit that we hope all the other members can match. Natalie enjoys volunteering and doing whatever she can to provide service for school and community. This member has definitively adopted Key Club's motto, caring our way of life. She has and we are certain will continue to provide service during this upcoming year, contributing to the spirit and success of our club. On behalf of all the officers we would like to thank Natalie for her endless service and contributions to our club.

On June 24, 25, and 26th Burbank High School's Key Club hosted their annual Project Greenlight event held at the Burbank McCambridge tennis center. Project Greenlight gave all the key clubbers in our division the opportunity to interact and help a child suffering from Down Syndrome. Each member that attended was partnered with a child with this disorder and became their buddy who spent the day with them and interacted with them through the various activities set up. It was definitely a memorable and great experience that all who attended can agree upon. At the Burbank McCambridge tennis center each one of the courts had different activities set up for the kids and their buddies. Among these activities included obstacle courses, baseball, hula hooping, squishy Frisbees, etc. And of course tennis was the number one activity played. The kids enjoyed playing each and every one of the activities, and most importantly they enjoyed the company of their buddies. There was an immediate connection and bond formed between each kid and their buddy. It was a very gratifying and pleasing feeling being able to spend time and help kids that unfortunately are living with their disorder, but despite their disorder it does not prevent these kids from having fun. These kids definitely know how to have fun and find such amusement and happiness in the simplest of things. Project Greenlight was certainly one of my favorite events this year so far, and if you were unable to attend I highly suggest you attend next year. The memories made and laughs shared during this key club event will forever be cherished and remembered. And the friendships formed and bonds made will most definitely be remembered as well. Thank you to all that attended and contributed to this wonderful experience, and thank you to all the kids that attended as well who gave us the opportunity to spend three amazing days with you all.
