After the successful design of the Inhalytix™ software logo, the company asked for further collaboration including the software’s UI design.

Working closely with the software developers, the requirement was to create 48 icons that would represent the company’s inhaler testing equipment inside the software’s environment.

It was an exciting yet challenging design process as there was a need to develop a graphic language that (i) would match the company’s branding guidelines and (ii) would convert Copley’s complicated inhaler testing equipment to easily comprehensible and user-friendly graphic icons.

The company’s distinctive blue colour was selectively used to bridge the icons’ and the software’s environment graphic language.

Requiring a lot of abstraction, a good level of conceptualization but also enough information regarding the mechanical parts, the icons were designed and stood out as the main communicational element between the user and the software.
