New exhibition space and design at the “Museo del Cenacolo”

The extension of the current museum has been planned in the courtyard of Santa Croce Abbey in Florence following the historical structure as recovered in ancient documents. The new space for the exhibition recreates the typical spatial hierarchy of Florentine convents and it serves as a connection between the Museo del Cenacolo and the main abbey, bringing a continuity to the visitor experience and giving a different perception of the space, inspired by the maestro Carlo Scarpa.

Firenze

A new museum at Villa Adriana in Tivoli

The intervention for the musealization of “Villa Adriana” in Tivoli is designed to solve the functional organization of the possible paths in the archeological park and improve the visitor’s engagement. The new museum is perfectly fitted on the side of the Pecile; it combines harmoniously the primary function as a new entrance to the visitor path and the secondary function as an extraordinary display of the villa’s collections. It promotes the new visitor centre to a hub without diminishing its status but, on the contrary, improving it.

MA in Architecture, Archeology and Museum Design Innovative design and Management of Archeological Heritage

The objective of this MA is the formation of a professional with interdisciplinary competencies - architecture, archeology, museum design and management. Across different projects I have been gained experience in the cultural heritage management, with the possibility of working as designer, director, consultant, or as in house expert, with the expertise for design, scientific, and management responsibilities. I have been working in multidsciplinary team of 6/7 international students joining the unique opportunity to redesign visitor centre and exhibitions of the most famous Workshop to design new Visitor Centers for some of the most famous archeological sites of Europe Accademia Adrianea - 2012/2013 Rome Autocad - Photoshop - Sketchup - Illustrator - Rinocheros - Vray - Hand drawing

6. The “Appia Antica” had its origins from the ancient Porta Capena near the Baths of Caralla and led from Rome to Brindisi. The project’s main aim was to make the visit more accessible, providing services and information to the visitor across different platforms, recalling the funeral and celebratory character in a superb integration with the landscape of the place.

Total Refurbishment and Interior Design of a new flat

The aim of the project was to transform two garages into a house flat for a young couple starting their life together. The budget was restricted and the main client request was to hide any character of the previous use of the space. The client gave me complete control of the project so I started with a design phase where I proposed to them various solutions through 2D and 3D renders, plan and sketches. I presented the project and got the necessary planning permissions. In the construction phase as Project Architect on site I bridged the gap between the client and the building contractor. Partial refurbshiment of a modern Villa in Tuscany

The project is realized in an existing Villa that was designed and built around 1985; the client’s needs were to divide the new flat from the rest of the house thus obtaining new spaces to re-design. The mood of the flat has been changed to a modern style of furniture and finishing creating bespoke furniture that could be perfectly fitted in the designed space. In this case the project has also been followed from the design through to the construction phase. The Phygital Funfair: new concept store for Sephora

Sephora, a French chain of cosmetics with more than 300 brands and thousands of stores worldwide challenged the students at Central Saint Martin to come up with a new store design concept to be applied to the flagship store in Paris and replicated/ adapted worldwide. My team’s project won this design contest with a simple and clever idea to use the metaphor of the “phigital funfair” to create a sense of community among the customers of the store (physical) through multimedia enhanced experience (digital). The final selection step has seen us presenting the project to Sephora’s top management in Paris where this project is currently in the construction phase.

Il Gattopardo: immersive exhibition about digital proximity

Il Gattopardo has been developed as part of my major project at Central Saint Martin. The project aims to challenge the current rise of online dating and dating apps and let people reflect on the importance of maintaining an equilibrium between virtual and non-virtual kinds of relations in our future. Il Gattopardo is a fun immersive game about dating, which unfolds in a one night event at the Italian Cultural Institute, one of our greatest sponsors and collaborator, in London. The event incorporates a twenty-minute immersive experience during which, through videos, audio and role playing, participants explore changes in dating habits from London’s present to Italy’s Exhibition Design Immersive event at the Italian Cultural Institute London 2016- Autocad - Photoshop - Illustrator - Sketchup Vray - Hand drawing - CNC - Laser cut- 3D printing On the left the poster for the invitation to the event showing the visual language On the right a moment of one of the run of the event. 9. After a while, Sara is really happy that she has decided to accept the challenge of Il Gattopardo. She had a lot of fun.

STORYBOARD IL GATTOPARDO

6. The voices are over. She is sorry; she would have loved to keep on hearing the stories. Instead, a video starts to play and it’s projected on different layers of tulle. She quickly discerns other faces. She’s intrigued as they don’t seem to belong to the same group.

3. In the end she’s told to follow some dots on the floor and told to wait for a Maestro. She’s anxious to start but also disoriented: what’s a Maestro? Why does someone need to come for her?

1. Sara arrives at the Italian Cultural Institute building and notice the poster of the event next the main entrance where visitors are invited to ring the bell to enter the building. She feels curious about the event.

7. Sara passes through the door, she’s very nervous: what’s going to happen? Out of the blue, the woman tells the groups to look for the person they were chatting with. Sara is hesitant but excited.

5. Suddenly the alarm goes off and Sara is told to move. She sees 3 cardboards with human size and they are talking about the past. She feels nostalgic.

FIND THE MATCH

8. Surprisingly the guy she was chatting with he’s handsome and charming. In the end, the door is opened and a woman tells them to go upstairs to dance. She is tense; she hasn’t danced in a while

HESITANT SURPRISED EXCITED 2. Sara enters the door and there is a queue in front of her. She’s intrigued from the queue but also bored that she has to wait. Finally she’s welcomed by a woman asking for her data.

4. Sara enters the game. She’s told to sit down and chat with an IPad. She’s comfortable in the chair but the room is so dark.

Siponto and Malta International Museum Competition

The Malta St Angel Fort was based on the remains of an ancient fort for the defence of the commercial naval routes during last century. The project aim was to create a new visitor path as well as a new entrance, new outdoor lighting system and external spaces for shows with three main exhibition galleries, a kids’ museum, a cafeteria and basic accommodations that should recall the austere living quarters available for the Knights or Servicemen. Siponto: a new museum for the old byzantine cathedral. The project was based on designing a new show and a new visitor path. The light exhibition permits the comprehension of the architectural features of the old monastery building. MODO_O Green houses

The project aims to create sustainable residential buildings with a mix of prefabricated and modular wood system solution. Different sizes of the “Energetic Passive Houses” can be created to match the owner’s needs. Different energy solutions can be adopted including solar panels, photovoltaic system, good insulation system, biomass and geothermal energy. The possibility to join together two or more units permits to enlarge the single unit creating a space to match the client’s demand. The technical systems are divided into smaller groups independent of each other permitting an individual maintenance of any of these separately.
