I found that a lot of the makeup was in black packaging and somewhat similar to MAC
Big name brands also had male make up range, but it was all very limited and are very masculine, reflecting their aftershave products.
I noticed that a lot of the brands have names like “Guyliner” and “Manscara”. Are they giving them another name so men don’t feel feminine by wearing it?
These are the main brands I have found so far. Most having the word ‘Man’ or ‘Men’ in it, as if reassuring them that they are still male even if wearing make up.
Men’s
Women’s
Here I tried to compare the same product for both male and female. As you can see, the men’s one is more chunky and the nib is squared off and more masculine.
‘Stictly For Men’ Is this any different?
I have noticed that a lot of the packaging for men’s make up is almost medicinal looking.
Again, the concealer looks like an ordinary lip balm, almost to conceal the fact that it is make up.
