ACTIVATION

How much data of memories would you leave behind in one life? Since we have entered the era of information explosion, the digital properties leave behind is increasingly evoking people’s attention. As there are already over 30 million dead people on Facebook, it has been believed that they could outnumber those alive by 2020(BBC, 2016). The wealth of individual data remains available for others to read, leave comments as well as interact with are the approaches for maintaining our memories currently. As we could see, the Medias of memories storage will probably influence our way of remembering others in the future. We will all getting here but this will not be the end.

Get a serious illness but all family members accompanying with you all the time

Considering the situation of Big Data Era, there are enterprises and agencies providing novel ways to live on base on digital legacy have already been established all around the world. In addition, resurrecting the deceased celebrities by high-technology to initiate a convincing creation for admirers is a critical tendency recently, which is an innovative experiences for recalling or creating memories as a memory being. Nevertheless, how to apply these interactive digital memories as a material to generate a new experience for recalling recollection or creating new memories might be the insight in future 20 years.

CONCEPT 2

Concept two is an heirloom light base on insight 1 and trend 1. As the digital legacies agencies growing up, this concept is manipulating digital legacy for an individual user, which is exclusive. The memory being could be hologram as a digital facsimile by the lamp if the data is enough for mind-cloning a person.

CONCEPT 3

Concept three is a connection tree base among insight 3, 4 and trend 3. Since the dead users on social media are outnumbering alive in the future, the connection on social media will be displayed as branches of a tree depends on the relationship of a specific profile. The memory being will be generated as a bird if data is enough for reproducing a person.

CONCEPT 4

Concept four is an aquarium VR system from insight 2 and trend 4. Because VR will be one of the rapid developed technology in the future, the VR system for interaction is the core of this concept. However, it could not be randomly playing memory pieces in a standby mode of the device. The memory being will be displayed as a gold fish if the data is enough for reproducing a person.

CONCEPT 5

Concept five is an hourglass devices base among insight 2, 3 and trend 1, 4. There are six colors of tiny cubes will be appeared in the hourglass after uploading memory pieces. The selected memory document will combine together like the image pixels to represent the memory. The memory being will be a digital facsimile if the data is enough for mind-cloning a person

NOONEE Chairless Chair Evaluation X SU-LINT Evaluate the Chairless Chair utlise for BMW MINI PLANT OXFORD. How to extend the chairless chair’s elements for a new production? This project includes two parts. The first part was collabrating with BMW OXFORD PLANT, which is about the evaluation of Chairless Chair using in the various work station of BMW PLANT. The second part is an extend project from the analysis of Chairless Chair, which I had adopted the mechanical structure and main colors elements for a medical finger recovery supporter. Team-work Project (2 Weeks) Individual Project (3 Weeks)

Why NOONEE Chairless Chair ?

Why BMW MINI PLANT, OXFORD ?

Chairless Chair is an exoskeletal low cost chair developed by Noonee AG in Switzerland, that lends lower-body support to people who have to stand all day long. The Chairless chair consist of a titanium frame that hugs the back of the worker’s leg like a flexible brace, while a support belt is strapped around their torso. Workers can stand and walk like normal, but when they want to sit, pushing a button locks the frame into place at the desired angle. The weight the body is transferred through the frame to the floor or the heels. The Chairless Chair effectively lets employees carry a seat with them at all times.

The MINI Plant, Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant's assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Plant Oxford comprises of body shell production, paint and final assembly of MINI cars. There are total 462 individual processes in assembly which include the fitment of various components at various heights and positions of the car/engine. All the processes went through ergonomic assessments where 19 different types of strain were analysed. Some processes required an excess amount of bending or stooping which could lead to fatigue, loss of concentration and back problems.

How is NOONEE Chariless Chair?

Which assembly lines can adopt the Chairless Chair?

Two of the group members had a chance to have hands on the Chairless chair at the BMW MINI plant in Oxford.

To overcome the loss of concentration and back problems at assemble lines, various process at the assembly line were analysed where Chairless chair could be adopted depending on the height of working, angle and intensity of bending, time of bending and minimum walking (<2 meters). The workstations chosen were 30008R, 40013R, 40018R, 21010R and 03017L. The Associates working on the respective chosen processes were introduced to Chairless chair. The Chairless chair was also tested at the plant in Germany.

How far from the trolley to the working part? Could the trolley be closer? How tall is the trolley? The worker who working in the car cannot use the chairlesschair, but his position is probably most harmful.

Source: (BMW, 2017) The working hours are split into 3 shifts per day, comprising 2.45 hours (first session), 2.17 hours (second session) and 1.45 hours (third session) per shift. The associates have two breaks of 27 mins and 15 mins.

For this assembly process the associate has to bend sideways from the waist. The chair offers little help in this regard and in the long-term this could still have health consequences

The engine would be lifted or downed automatically, but the worker still need to do two awkward blending positions to finish the work. What is the approximately height for the lower working? What about the higher one? How far is the trolley to the working engine? What kind of tools needed? How many tools need to be changed for finishing one engine? What about the weight for the tools? The outcomes were: 1. Hard to accept Chairless chair by the associates working, being a newly introduced thing. 2. Lack of training documentation. 3. No specific records for time required for Climatization of Chairless chair. 4. Lack of motivation to use Chairless chair.

The Team also mentioned that further changes in the height and position of the station are limited as some of the stations are set to particular height. The team also mentioned that when the trial was conducted for short period of time, the response of the associates was very positive and they had few minor issues like foot adjustment in the design but implementing on permanent basis may have some problems as the associates are not 100% confident.

Suitable to introduce the Chairless chair. There are two working heights for this station, one needs to stand and one needs to bend down for 10 seconds and 14 times per hour. If the Chairless chair is introduced, the worker DOES NOT need to bend down which will protect their (associates) waist and back.

If the car could be lifted up to fit the ergonomic working height, then it is UNNECESSARY to introduce the Chairless Chair. If that is NOT possible or costs too much, then the Chairless chair should be introduced since the bending time is more.

Suitable to introduce the Chairless chair. And refereeing to the pictures provided by the BMW MINI team, the working space is very limited in this station. It takes less space when siting on the Chairless chair than bending down.

tions were marked accordingly, and the bending angle also the bending time for each station.

03 017R Suitable for some. According to the analysis at the left, the working height is perfectly fine for women (Average height Woman UK: 164 cm). But for higher person (average male height), it still need them to bend and twist their body. And as the working point is in inner corner, people need to twist to see the point. If possible, it would be better if the engine could be rotated or tilted to fit the perfect working angle for associates.
